ESB ANKARA ESENBOGA AIRPORT ESB

ANKARA S BACKGROUND Serving 59 non-stop destinations, Ankara Esenboga International Airport (ESB) stands as the gateway of central Turkey to the world. ESB is located 28 km from the city center. It served 10.9 million passengers in 2013, growing 18% vs 2012. The state of the art airport was awarded with the prestigious ACI EUROPE Best Airport Award in 5-10 million passengers category in 2009. Operator of 13 airports worldwide, TAV Airports assists the airlines to grow their business in ESB through its regional experience and know-how.

ANKARA HAS A CENTRAL LOCATION Ankara is the second biggest city of Turkey with a population of 4.5 million. It is the capital city of Turkey, hosting the Turkish Government and all foreign embassies. Located at the center of highway and railway networks of the country, Ankara and its vicinity is also an important region for commercial activities. Ankara Esenboga Airport (ESB) is well connected to the city. Transportation to airport is possible by taxis, shuttle buses or regular buses. The renewed road to the airport considerably shortened the transportation time to ESB. Traveling Traveling time < 120 minutes Traveling time < time < 60 minutes 30 minutes

ESB HAS GREAT POTENTIAL FOR DIRECT SERVICE The center of bureaucracy and politics, Ankara has a rapidly expanding economy. Both for economic and political reasons, Ankara is attracting more and more people to town. The propensity to fly increases as flying turns into a routine rather than a privilege. Furthermore, Ankara and the vicinity is home to many ethnic Turks in Europe, who tend to visit friends and relatives at least once a year. Simply, Ankara is showing great potential for future due to being the center of Government, its growing economy and many emigrants in Europe. Yet, the traffic figures indicate that 48% of the total international passengers have to make a connection elsewhere in order to fly from Ankara Airport (ESB) to their end destination. Most of the connections are made via Istanbul Ataturk Airport (IST). The circuitousness of an IST connection for Middle East and CIS destinations is a hassle for Ankara traffic, proving potentials for direct service. Additionally, ESB traffic has high yields due to its unmet traffic potential and premium passenger profile. ESB IS A NEW AND EFFICIENT AIRPORT The construction of the totally new Ankara Esenboga Airport (ESB) was completed in 2006. The airport covers both domestic and international terminals in a single building which increase the operational efficiency and the ease of passenger flow. The facility is equipped with the latest technologies, all contributing to the security and efficiency of the operations. In ESB, it takes only 3 minutes to have your luggage delivered after your flight. Smooth operations ensure short turnaround times in ESB where the ground service for your aircraft can be provided within 50 minutes. The airport s traffic is increasing at a fast pace. Passenger traffic has grown 79% in the past 5 years from 6.1 million to 10.9 million. The international passengers handled reached 1.6 million in 2013. Frankfurt, Copenhagen, Moscow, Vienna and Doha are some of the major international routes in ESB s network while there still remains potential for direct flights to many other unserved destinations. ESB currently has 27 international destinations served non-stop. Lufthansa, Qatar Airways, Saudi Arabian Airlines and Germanwings are some of the international carriers operating in ESB. 12 10,9 10 9,2 2013
