Basic Copy Functions CHOOSING PAPER TRAYS Press Paper (if under the basic tab) or Select the desired tray to pull from if under the Quick Copy tab If using thick paper, transparencies or non-standard size paper from the by-pass tray, highlight the bypass tray and press the Change Tray Settings Select desired paper type For custom size paper, touch Custom Size Use the + or to customize paper size Press OK COMBINING ORIGINALS This feature will take 2, 4 or 8 separate originals and automatically reduce them down to one side of one sheet Select 2 in 1 or 4 in 1/ 8 in 1 Select desired combination Select numbering direction Start QUALITY ADJUSTMENT Press the Quality/Density tab To lighten or darken the copy, select from the following: Density to lighten or darken the entire image Background Removal to lighten or darken just the background Text Enhancement To lighten or darken just the text To enhance quality, select appropriate original type OK 1

Basic Copy Functions 2 SIDED COPIES Press Simplex/Duplex Choose Option (1 to 1, 1 to 2, 2 to 1, 2 to 2) Note: the first number represents the number of Sides of your original, the second number represents the number of Sides you want your copy to have OK Start REDUCE & ENLARGE Select specific preset option or Press Conversion Press the + or to manually select the percentage or Press the XY Zoom, and specify zoom settings OK Start XY Zoom Function By using the keypad, a zoom ratio between 25.0% and 400.0% can be typed in directly without changing the height-to-width ratio. Touch XY Zoom Using the keypad, type in the desired zoom ratio (between 25.0% and 400.0%) Touch OK, and then touch OK in the next screen that appears. 2

Placement of Paper in the Bypass Tray Open the bypass tray When loading large-sized paper, pull out the tray extension Load the paper into the tray Load paper so that the side to be printed on faces downward Do not load so many pages that the top of the stack is higher than the mark Slide the lateral guides to fit the size of paper to be loaded 9

Obtaining Meter Reads The total number of printed pages and detailed counts of prints can be checked Press Utility/Counter To print the list, select Check Details then press Print List 10

Changing Defaults to B/W on Copier and Print Drivers To change color default on the copier: - On the copier control panel, press the yellow reset button - Under color, select Black - Press Utility/Counter - #2, User Settings - #3, Copier Settings - Select Default Copy Settings - If current selection is on Factory Default, press Current Setting, OK - If current selection is on Current Setting, press Factory Default then Current Setting, OK - Press Close several times to exit Utility/Counter To change color default in the Print Driver: - At the PC, click the Start menu - Select Printers & Faxes - Right click on the copier and select Printing Preferences - When the driver opens, click on the Quality tab - Change color to grayscale - Press Apply, OK 11

Adding Cover Pages Copies can be made using paper different from the main body of the original (excluding the cover pages) and cover pages can be added using paper different from the copy - Position the original to be copied - Load the paper for the cover pages and the paper for the main body of the original into separate paper trays - Use paper with the same size for the cover pages and for the main body of the original, and load them in the same orientation. - Touch Application, and then touch Sheet/Cover/Chapter Insert - The Sheet/Cover/Chapter Insert screen appears - Touch Cover Sheet - Select the desired cover page settings If desired, touch Paper under "Front Cover" or "Back Cover The corresponding Cover Paper screen appears - Select the paper tray loaded with the paper for the cover pages - Touch OK, and then touch OK in the next two screen that appears - Specify any other desired copy settings - Using the keypad, type in the desired number of copies - Press the Start key 12

Inserting different paper into copies ("Insert Sheet" function) Different paper (such as colored paper) can be inserted for specified pages in the copies - Position the original to be copied - Load the paper to be used for the insertions sheets and the main body of the original into the desired paper trays Use paper with the same size for the insertion sheets and for the main body of the original, and load them in the same orientation - Touch Application, and then touch Sheet/Cover/Chapter Insert - Touch Insert Sheet - Touch a button for a page number, and then use the keypad to type in the number of the page where the paper is to be inserted - Touch Insert Paper - Select the paper tray loaded with the paper for the insertion sheets, touch OK - Under "Insert Type", touch either Copy or Blank - Touch OK and then touch OK in the next screen that appears - Specify any other desired copy settings - Using the keypad, type in the desired number of copies - Press the Start key 13

Registering One-Touch Scan-to-Email Destinations Frequently used scan-to-email destinations can be stored - Press Utility/Counter - #1, One Touch/User Box Registration - #1, Create One Touch Destination - #1, Address Book - #1, E-Mail - Press New - Press Name, enter name to be displayed in address book - Press E-Mail Address, enter e-mail address - Use the down arrow button to display next screen - Press Index - Select how this one-touch button will be stored in the address book If Favorites is selected, the one-touch button will be on the main scan screen 14

Scanning and Scan Settings Press the Fax/Scan Function Key Select one (or more) one touch destination keys Place the documents to be scanned face up in the document feeder or face down on the platen glass Press Start The documents will be scanned to the destination(s) at the default scan settings Scan settings can be changed if desired. After selecting the destination(s), press the Scan Settings box and make applicable changes. Press Start. The scan settings will reset to the default settings. Original Type Simplex/Duplex Resolution File Type The following settings can be changed, if desired: Density Separate Scan Document Name To make changes to the scan settings, press the Scan Settings box Select applicable box to change Once all changes have been made press OK Press Start The scanned documents will be sent to the destination (s) with the scan settings applied. 15

Turning Account Track Function ON Up to 1,000 Accounts can be registered - Press the Utility/Counter Button - #3, Administrator Setting - Enter Password (12345678), OK - #4, User Authentication/Account Track - #1, General Settings - Press Account Track - Press ON - Press Account Track Input Method - Select either Account Name & Password or Password Only, OK - A warning prompt will appear asking Are you sure you want to clear all data? - Select Yes, OK - At this point the copier will require either an Account Name & Password or Password to use the copier (depending on the login method you selected) - Begin Registering Users 16

Registering Account Track Users 1. Press the Utility/Counter Button 2. #3, Administrator Setting 3. Enter Password (12345678), OK 4. #4, User Authentication/Account Track 5. #3, Account Track Settings 6. #1 Account Track Registration 7. Highlight First Available Box 8. Press Edit 9. Touch Password 10. Enter Password (up to 8 characters) 11. If Account Name & Password was selected for Login, the Name must be registered. If Password Only was selected for Login, the Name can be registered for administrative purposes, but is not required 12. Output Permission can be set at this time 13. Maximum Allowable Set can be set at this time 14. OK 15. Continue steps 7-14 to register additional users 17

Printing an Account Track Report/Clearing Counters - Press the Utility/Counter Button - #3, Administrator Setting - Enter Password (12345678), OK - #4, User Authentication/Account Track - #5, Print Counter List - Select Paper Tray - Press Start If desired, reset all counters: - Press the Utility/Counter Button - #3, Administrator Setting - Enter Password (12345678), OK - #4, User Authentication/Account Track - #3, Account Track Settings - #2, Account Track Counter - Reset All Counters or Specify User to Clear Counter individually - To Reset Counter individually, highlight the user, Press Counter Details, Press Clear Counter 18

Deleting an Account - Press the Utility/Counter Button - #3, Administrator Setting - Enter Password (12345678), OK - #4, User Authentication/Account Track - #3, Account Track Settings - #1 Account Track Registration - Highlight User to Delete - Press Delete - A warning screen will appear: Are you sure you want to delete this account? - Press Yes, OK 19

Adding Account Code in the Print Driver Each user code can be set in their print driver as a default so a code does not need to be entered for every print job and the prints will be captured on the usage report *Note: The user will not be able to print to the copier without the code being entered in the print driver - At the individual s PC, click on the Start menu, select printers & faxes - Right click on the copier and select printing preferences - Click on the Basic Tab - Click on User Authentication/Account Track - A pop-up window will appear - Enter the individual s name and account code, press OK - Press Apply, then OK to exit 20

User Authentication w/ Public Access - Press Utility/Counter - Select #3, Administrator Settings - Enter Password (12345678), OK - Select #4, User Authentication/Account Track - Select #1, General Settings - Press User Authentication, select ON (MFP), OK - A confirmation screen will appear, press YES - Select #1, General Settings - Press Public User Access, select ON without Login, OK - Select #2, User Authentication Settings - Select User Registration - Highlight first available box, press Edit - Touch Name and enter desired name, OK - Touch Password, enter desired password for color permission - Touch Password Confirmation, enter password again, OK - Press the up arrow - Highlight the Public box, press Edit - Select Output Permission - Next to Color, press Restrict, OK - Continue to press Close to exit the Utility/Counter At this point the copier will be open under Public Access allowing Black & White copying only. To use the color account, press the Access Key and enter User Name and Password. Use the Access key to log back out. 21

User Authentication w/ Public Access, cont. To set-up color permissions as a printing default: - At the PC, Click on the Start menu - Select Printers & Faxes - Right click on the Konica print driver - Select Printing Preferences - Click on the Basic Tab - Click on Authentication/Account Track - A pop-up window will appear - Under User Authentication, check Recipient User - Fill in User Name and Password - Click the verify button to ensure registration - OK, Apply This will allow color printing without entering a code every time To Print the Usage Reports: Press Utility/Counter #3, Administrator Settings Enter Password (12345678), OK #4, User Authentication/Account Track #5, Print Counter List Press Start 22

Creating User Boxes User Boxes can be created to store documents on the hard drive of the copier for retrieval. Documents can be printed to user box, scanned to user box and retrieved from User Boxes. Passwords can be assigned for Secure User Boxes, but are not required. At the copier control panel, press Utility/Counter Select #1, One Touch/User Box Registration Select #2, Create User Box Select #1, Public/Personal User Box Select New Touch User Box Name Enter name of User Box, Enter If a password is desired, touch Password, enter desired password, Enter Press the Forward Right arrow Select the timeframe to have the user box automatically delete documents *Note: Select Save to keep documents in the user box until manually deleted Press OK, Close to exit the Utility/Counter 23

Printing to User Box Default Setting To store the Print to User Box as the default print option: In the Start menu, select Printers & Faxes Right click on the Konica Minolta C552 print driver Select Printing Preferences Under Output Method, Select Save in User Box A screen will appear asking for the File Name and User Box Number The file name can be anything (user name), but the Box number must be the same as the box number assigned on the copier Click OK, then Apply At this point the user does not have to input anything in the print driver to print to User Box Note: When the user sends a print job to the User Box, send only ONE copy. When the print job is released at the copier, the number of copies needed is entered. 24

Printing to User Box From your application: Press File, Print, select the printer, press the Properties button: Under Output Method, select Save in User Box A screen will appear asking for the File Name and User Box Number The file name can be anything, but the Box Number must be the same as the box number assigned on the copier Click OK Make any other settings for this print job, then OK, OK to send the print to the User Box on the copier Note: When the user sends a print job to the User Box, send only ONE copy. When the print job is released at the copier, the number of copies needed is entered. 25

Retrieving Print Jobs from User Boxes - At the copier press the Box function key - Highlight the User Box to open, Press Use/File - If a password was assigned, enter the password, OK - The User Box will open and a thumbnail view of all documents printed to this box will appear - The documents can be selected one at a time, or press the Select All button - Press Print - A screen will appear to select how many copies, finishing options and duplexing preferences (all settings made from the PC will apply when printed) - Press Start - The documents will print out and you can continue printing other documents if desired To manually delete documents from User Box, select the Filing Settings Tab, highlight the document(s) (or select all), and press Delete. 26
