un certain regard
un certain regard Oslo, August 31st Anders will soon complete his drug rehabilitation in the countryside. As part of the program, he is allowed to go into the city for a job interview. But he takes advantage of the leave and stays on in the city, drifting around, meeting people he hasn't seen in a long while. Thirty-four-year-old Anders is smart, handsome and from a good family, but deeply haunted by all the opportunities he has wasted, all the people he has let down. He is still relatively young, but feels his life in many ways is already over. For the remainder of the day and long into the night, the ghosts of past mistakes will wrestle with the chance of love, the possibility of a new life and the hope to see some future by morning. He embarks on a dark thrill ride of lost memories, conspiracy and zombie-like symptoms. Finding the mysterious darkness within is the source of the bizarre world he has uncovered. Headhunters Roger is a man who seems to have everything; he s the most successful headhunter in Norway, married to the almost-too-beautiful art gallery owner Diana, living in an expensive house. But to keep his finances afloat Roger has taken up a sideline; stealing art, and a little bit too much of it. Claes Greve is another man, who s seemingly the perfect candidate to headhunt for one of Roger s clients. On top of that Greve is the proud owner of a valuable painting. Roger sees his chance to get out of debt for good and starts planning his final, big theft.. But he soon discovers that Greve is playing a game of his own... Marché du Film I Travel Alone Jarle Klepp is a 25-year-old student of literature with a passion for Adorno, Proust and grown-up women - and definitively not Tamagochi's and small kids. The news that he is the father of a seven year old girl and that she will come visiting next week enters his life like a nuclear bomb. A heartwarming drama about growing up, for real. King of Devil's Island The film is set in 1915 on the island Bastøy outside Oslo, a reformatory for boys between 11 and 18 years. The institution is governed by repression and the boys are being exploited as workers and both physically and mentally abused. Stellan Skarsgård plays the manager whose harsh methods eventually lead to a violent uprising. The Norwegian government responds by sending an armed ship with 150 soldiers.
