Java and Banner: Our implementation of Banner supports Java 7 71, 7 75 and 7 79. If you are prompted to upgrade Java to the newest version do not. Banner is not compatible with Java 8. If you are not able to remove Java the likely cause is that you do not have administrator access on your computer. Go to https://isis.wlu.ca or https://banner.wlu.ca The Java files are located at J:\Collaboration\Software\Java If you are not able to access the folder please contact the ICT Service Desk by calling x4357 or logging a ticket in the portal. For Windows open the folder Java 7 79 for Windows 32 and 64 bit For MAC open the folder Java for MAC For Windows XP you will need to copy the file jre-7u79-windowsi586 to your computer. For Windows 7 you will need to copy both jre-7u79-windows-i586 and jre-7u79-windows-x64 to your computer. You may or may not see the.exe extension. Go to: https://banner.wlu.ca and select from the list In IE you may see a message similar to this and need to click on Run this time or right mouse click in the bar and select Run this time. You may also see this prompt after accepting the risk. You can click on Run with the latest version. This is for oracle.forms.engine NOT an update to your version of Java. If you are prompted to run this application you will need to accept the risk and click Run You may receive multiple prompts the first time you log in after updating Java.
