This year is certainly not shy of big hotel openings in the capital either, and to prove it we ve got details on 10 of the potentially most exciting and influential properties scheduled to open in London in 2015. Budget chic Tune Hotel Canary Wharf Feb 2 nd 2015 We ll kick off with a hotel that has in fact just opened at the beginning of February. The Tune Hotel Canary Wharf is the budget brand s fifth property in London and is a potent sign of its continuing expansion plans. Book direct with Tune Hotels at the best guaranteed rate Located around half a kilometre from Canary Wharf Underground station and the DLR, the hotel continues the brand s habit of picking desirable locations with good transport links where it can offer its unique value proposition. The hotel has 130 rooms sporting the brand s new room design, split between two buildings, and offers a comfy chic stay at budget prices. With room rates starting around the 55 mark, it seems likely that this new property from the growing Tune brand will prove a hit with visitors to East London. Built in a former office building, the hotel will ooze designer style and will have 111 bedrooms. Located close to many bars and the upcoming Bower development on Old Street, the hotel is intended for London visitors who want a slightly different experience in a vibrant neighbourhood. Getting down to business M by Montcalm Shoreditch March 2015 Another opening for Shoreditch, the M by Montcalm Shoreditch is more likely to appeal to business visitors attending conferences in the area or working in the Tech City quarter around Silicon Roundabout. Check rates at M by Montcalm Shoreditch It s by no means a purely straight-laced business affair though in addition to state-of-the-art meeting spaces and free WiFi, the hotel will also have a chilled-out bar and lounge, a pool, spa and fitness centre for guest use. Quirky charms Zetter Townhouse Marylebone Spring 2015 The portion of Marble Arch just behind Oxford Street is a hive of redevelopment at the moment. Housed in a six-storey Georgian Townhouse, the hotel will have 24 rooms, including 2 studio suites and a rooftop apartment. Okay, so it s not technically a new hotel opening, but we re pretty excited about the reopening of the Lanesborough after a lengthy refurbishment. Now part of the Oetker Collection, the hotel has been closed since late 2013, but will soon re-emerge from its hibernation shiny and new. All 93 guest rooms and the hotel s public areas are in the process of being refurbished. It is expected that while many modern features will be added, the hotel on Hyde Park Corner will retain its traditional charm. A taste of local flavour The Laslett, Notting Hill Summer 2015 The Laslett in Notting Hill is the latest project of Living Rooms, their fourth such property in London. The hotel takes its name from Notting Hill Carnival pioneer Rhaune Laslett and is expected to draw from the area s cultural heritage and traditions. It will be just a short walk from Notting Hill Gate tube and will have 51 rooms and suites. Living Rooms have also indicated that the hotel will host regular exhibitions and installations by local artists and photographers. The spaciously luxurious Hilton London Bankside, South Bank Summer 2015 Promising views out over the Tate Modern and St Paul s Cathedral, Synergy Hotels new property will be operated by Hilton Hotels & Resorts. Check rates at the Hilton London Metropole The hotel will have 292 guest bedrooms including 21 suites and an impressive presidential suite measure 100 square metres. Courtroom drama Old Street Courthouse Hotel, Shoreditch Mid-2015 One of a number of London hotels to be built within a former courthouse, the Old Street Courthouse Hotel will transform the Edwardian magistrates court and police station into a four-star boutique haven in the heart of Shoreditch. The hotel will have around 130 rooms, as well as a gym, a bowling alley, swimming pool and screening room. Colossal and convenient Intercontinental London The O2 Late-2015 One of 2015 s last openings will also be one of its biggest. Intercontinental London The O2 will span 18-storeys and 450 rooms. Check rates at the Intercontinental London Park Lane Located right next to the O2, there are no prizes for guessing the kind of guests the hotel hopes to attract given its proximity to the iconic venue. The hotel will have a large ballroom capable of holding up to 3,000 people, 20 meeting rooms, two restaurants, a spa and a sky-bar overlooking the Thames. The elusive citizenm Tower of London & citizenm St Pauls 2015? Originally slated to open in 2014, these two new properties from citizenm have seemingly dropped off the radar over the past year. Details are scarce at present, but we ll tell you what we know. Check rates at citizenm London Bankside citizenm Tower of London will be located directly above Tower Hill underground station and is set to be the group s largest with 370 bedrooms, a bar, café and lounge spaces. citizenm St Paul s meanwhile will have 246 rooms and a large public area. them open their doors over the coming year. The group also has plans to build an additional property in you guessed it, Shoreditch. Past experience shown us that just because a hotel is scheduled to open in a particular year doesn t necessarily mean that will be the case.
