4 CORPORATE PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT IN TODAY S FAST CHANGING Energy and Utility transformation has been a significant reality over the past 30 years: huge global demand growth, investment and affordability, cleaner energy, smarter energy, the changing role of a customer - all of these components add to a new power and utilities market structure that drives companies strategies. THE CHANGING WORLD In order to service this transformation, manage increased regulatory governance and adherence, the move to TOTEX (Total Expenditure) financial models whilst at the same time meeting the broader expectations of Governments and customers coupled with addressing the demands of investors, shareholders and stakeholders, companies need to focus on driving in efficiency. A key aspect of success is the optimal use of assets; physical, people and capital. Typically in all aspects of this Industry, investment and infrastructure renewal programs have not necessarily kept pace with change so that existing assets are typically becoming older, less reliable and less resilient. Couple this with the need for increased capacity demands in many parts of the world as well as globalization and the asset challenges become greater. Through government drives for increased market competition, customer are becoming more aware of the cost of all of their energy and utility charges and quite rightly are demanding price reductions when they can see that the cost of producing power comes down. Parallel initiatives are likely to see over 200 million Smart Meters rolled out across Europe within the next 5 6 years and as a result companies plus consumers will want to know how they can take advantage of the Smart Grid and other aspects that Smart plant technology will provide. This will lead to huge volumes of data that in itself will require systems and applications that can optimize and use that data to the benefit of all stakeholders. Solutions will be required to manage the security of supply, identify consumer patterns and ultimately provide all users with the empowerment needed to make their own decisions. For large organizations to be able to react at the pace that governments and consumers demand, requires immediate access to not just data but, information across the enterprise and the context for the processes that underpin an organization how effective is the whole enterprise operating (not the performance of a single department)? The requirement is to capture, simulate and model and then act on the strategy from an enterprise perspective. The focus needs to be on capabilities that balance operational effectiveness and through-life costs with meeting safety, corporate social responsibility and regulatory governance requirements. IFS CPM is not easy to categorize. It is not workflow management (BPM) not business intelligence (BI) not operational intelligence (OI), it is all of these together, and perhaps more. THE BLOOR GROUP, 2014

CORPORATE PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT 5 WORLD BI IS NOT ENOUGH! THE DATA CHALLENGE The key to enterprise success and the effectiveness of all the supporting solutions and initiatives is end-to-end access to timely, accurate and complete information in which managers and planners can have absolute confidence. But, alone this information is not enough. It needs to be aligned to strategic objectives and context of an Energy & Utilities organization and with its detailed end-to-end processes. Decisions and judgments rely on having a complete, timely picture - an enterprise picture - to support the decision-making process with dynamic monitoring as circumstances change. HOW DO WE GET THERE WITH IFS CPM? IFS Applications offers customers a range of tools to deliver visual insight, to understand enterprise performance and enable better decision making. The IFS Corporate Performance Management (CPM) solution forms part of the IFS visual insight strategy. The IFS CPM for Energy & Utilities solution goes beyond the methods adopted by traditional business intelligence (BI) tools and enables a full 360 degree perspective of processes and performance. It provides senior management with the capability to review and orchestrate processes that align with their business strategy and drive these into end-users desktop functions. Avoiding strategy leakage. It also provides end-users with a complete understanding of which functions deliver real customer value, those that are less effective, and those which waste both time and resources. The solution is about executing the strategy, not having the best strategic story. Visual Insight - Enterprise Wide

CORPORATE PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT 7 KEY FEATURES DIFFERENT GOALS AND PRIORITIES No two users have the same goals or priorities; with IFS CPM for Energy & Utilities everyone gets just what they need for their individual role no more, no less through user defined cockpits where the combined aspirations of individuals complement the overall strategy and business objectives. This is obvious but, unachievable in traditional BI solutions as there is no consideration and inherent understanding of all the processes and how each sub-process complements the others in order to drive business optimization. MAP YOUR ENTERPRISE Develop a holistic, dynamic and graphical view of your unique value chain and define your business priorities. This top-down approach ensures that business performance is managed in context of the key business strategic objectives & processes, preventing any surprises in performance. Calculate the impact of raw material price or quality changes on your business bottom line in real-time. IFS CPM for Energy & Utilities helps you direct your energies towards those tasks that matter the most to achieving your strategic goals.

The successful introduction of CPM is getting considerable attention both within BAE Systems and among our clients. The capability is certainly ground-breaking and we look forward to delivering even more value by extending the use of CPM both in these first 2 programs and for other clients. PETER DICKINSON, DIRECTOR SUPPLY CHAIN CAPABILITY, BAE SYSTEMS, SAUDI ARABIA

CORPORATE PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT 9 POWERGEN SOLUTION A client, a major power business in China, is part of a huge State Corporation with a power generation installed capacity of almost 27GW. The IFS Applications implementation covered Financials including Fixed Assets, Budget Management, Maintenance including Permits and Isolation Orders, Human Resources, Supply Chain, Inventory & Purchasing, Fuel Management, Project Management and Health & Safety. Full go live of all components was achieved within one year of starting the project. It is not often the case that such a huge breadth of an enterprise asset management solution can be implemented in such a relatively short time frame. This implementation was also achieved at the same time as commissioning one of the new Generators. The client also then implemented IFS CPM in one of their Power Generation plants. The site was looking to visualize some of the critical cost data from IFS, overlaid with real time Production data from the systems running the plant. As well as focusing on the key factors of Asset Reliability and Maintenance productivity, the continued focus on major plant expansion also led to a forensic analysis of project costs and timescales. The client had identified that the greatest benefits realization would be achieved through using IFS CPM to determine the overall profitability of the plant as an enterprise process factoring in production output data, raw material costs, selling price, consumption rates and a what-if simulation capability should these factors change. Though IFS CPM what-if type simulations are now possible at the touch of a button - previously any scenario planning would have been rare and involve significant effort and manipulation of multiple BI datasheets. This can now be done as often as the customer wants.

10 CORPORATE PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT GLOBAL MINING SOLUTION A client, a global copper mining company had geographically-isolated sites in several Latin American countries. Each location had a significant asset base and the maintenance, optimization and reliability of that asset base was crucial to the wellbeing of the organization. The client sought to align all locations to a set of common goals. Achieving this would require end-to-end visibility of their operations value chain to create a single point of truth throughout the organization. The implemented solution connected management cockpits that were used to align the three remote mining sites to a set of common goals. The client could manage all locations from one integrated platform and within six months, significant results were realized: A significant increase in operational excellence across all sites Enhanced visibility of information by having a consistent view of the organization Improved coordination between managers through a single point of truth
