RES+ SMARTPHONE OPERATION Usage Precautions

USAGE PRECAUTIONS Warning NOT following the instructions below could result in serious injury, death, and/or damage to the vehicle. NEVER remotely start the engine if you are unaware of the circumstances surrounding the vehicle as it may cause a life threatening situation for those located in the vehicle s vicinity. DO NOT remotely start the engine if the vehicle is in an enclosed area (such as an unventilated garage/parking lot) where too much exhaust may accumulate and create a hazardous environment with the potential for Carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning. DO NOT remotely start the engine if children or pets are present in or near the vehicle. It can lead to serious injury, or death. NEVER use product, or product packaging for purposes other than originally intended. Doing so could result in damage to the unit, fire, or injury/death. DO NOT walk while using the CarFinder function of RES+. Always confirm your surroundings first to avoid safety hazards. DO NOT remotely start the engine when it is near flammable substances and/or has a car cover on. The exhaust pipe and emissions can create a hazardous environment which can lead to serious injury or death. Caution NOT following the instructions below could result in damage to the vehicle, or the product. If the Check Engine Light has come on, DO NOT operate RES+ to start the engine until the vehicle has been checked by an authorized dealer technician. NEVER attempt to disassemble, alter, or modify the product. An accident, injury, fire, or damage to the product may result. ALWAYS shut off mechanical components such as the windshield wipers after parking. If left on, they may be damaged after remotely starting your vehicle.

USAGE PRECAUTIONS General Information All smartphone(s) authorized by the owner have access to the vehicle s location as part of the CarFinder functionality. RES+ should only be used by licensed drivers. Laws in some communities may require that the vehicle be within view of anyone using RES+. In some states, use of RES+ may violate state or local laws. Before using RES+, check your state and local laws. RES+ is for vehicles with automatic transmissions only. Do not use it with manual transmission vehicles. RES+ should be installed or repaired by an authorized dealer technician. This product uses a mobile phone communications network to operate the engine start/stop and door lock/unlock functions. Consequently, the time taken to perform the functions and for current information to be refreshed, is influenced by the signal strength at that location and time. CarFinder information and vehicle location may vary slightly depending on GPS signal strength, and location. RES+ is designed to work at temperatures above -22 F (-30 C). This specification is related to the RES+ operation, but is dependant on the vehicle's operating temperature range which may be different. RES+ is designed for remote operation. RES+ SMARTPHONE OPERATION Introduction

INTRODUCTION Thank you for purchasing this Genuine Lexus accessory. RES+ uses a smartphone application to remotely access various vehicle functions and features listed below. The use of this application requires installation of the RES+ accessory in your vehicle and an annual subscription. FEATURES Remote Engine Start Start your vehicle s engine from your smartphone. If you have preset your Heating/Cooling System to your desired temperature the RES+ will assist you in obtaining a comfortable cabin upon entry. As an added convenience, this feature works with the defroster (when preset) to help clear up the windshield during cold weather. The RES+ is designed to shut the engine off when it detects any attempt to enter or move the vehicle after a remote engine start. Lock/unlock doors Lock and unlock your vehicle s doors from your smartphone. CarFinder Use the CarFinder feature to find the general location of your vehicle. Check the following vehicle information: - Exterior temperature at location of vehicle. - Engine status - ON/OFF - Door(s) status - LOCKED/UNLOCKED CONTRACT INFORMATION Account registration for use of this service can be done by any one person, usually the owner or someone authorized by the owner. OPERATION RES+ QUICK SETUP GUIDE It is necessary to complete the account registration procedure and download the smartphone application software by following the steps in the same order mentioned below. Web Registration Do you have a Lexus Drivers Account? Yes No 1 1. Log in to Lexus Drivers. (http://www.lexusdrivers.com) 2. Click RES+ Icon. 3. Click on the register button. 1. Go to the following URL on the Internet and Register a new account. (http://www.lexusdrivers.com) 2. Click RES+ Icon. 3. Click on the register button. RES+ Registration 1. After you have clicked REGISTER, you will be prompted to enter additional information and complete the account registration. 2 Enter the following information in accordance with the screen instructions: Account information (account owner)/vehicle information (VIN) RES+ ECU Serial Number. Payment method (for annual subscription fee). Add smartphone(s) (max 4 per vehicle) Warning: Each added smartphone can locate your vehicle through CarFinder.

RES+ SMARTPHONE OPERATION Operating Conditions

OPERATION OPERATING CONDITIONS The engine will NOT remotely start if one of the following conditions is detected. Door(s) and/or hatch is open. Hood is open. Ignition is ON. Brake pedal is being pressed. Vehicle s transmission is not in park (P). The remotely started engine will shut off if one of the following inputs is detected. Door(s) and/or hatch is opened. Hood is opened. Ignition is turned ON. Door is unlocked by Smart key, manual key, or key fob. Brake pedal is pressed. Vehicle s transmission is shifted out of park (P). The security alarm is triggered.* * The engine will continue to run if the panic alarm is activated. If the vehicle s engine has been running for 10 minutes after being remotely started.** ** The vehicle can be restarted remotely for a total of 20 minutes. After 20 minutes of total run-time the Vehicle must be manually restarted to reset the run-time.

OPERATION LOGGING IN [For iphone] 1. Start the RES+ application. 2. Enter your username and password. 3.Tap Login. [For Android] 1. Start the RES+ application. 2. Enter your username and password. 3.Tap Login. NOTE: If your username and password are entered incorrectly 5 times, your account will be locked for a period of time. By setting "Remember my username", the application will store your username for later usage. If you forgot your username or password, tap the "Forgot username or password?" link and follow the on-screen instructions.

OPERATION ENGINE START NOTE: When using RES+ data usage fees may apply. Confirm data usage fees before using this service. [For iphone] 1. Tap Start. 2. Tap START. 3. Enter your PIN (4 digit). The engine starts. [For Android] 1. Tap Start. 2. Tap START. 3. Enter your PIN (4 digit). The engine starts.

OPERATION ENGINE STOP [For iphone] 1. Tap Start. 2. Tap STOP. The engine shuts off. [For Android] 1. Tap Start. 2. Tap STOP. The engine shuts off.

OPERATION NOTE: Vehicles remotely started with the RES+ can idle for a total of 20 minutes, however automatic engine shutdown occurs after 10 minutes of run-time. You can always restart the vehicle after this initial shutdown. Once the total run-time of 20 minutes is reached the vehicle must be manually started in order to reset the RES+. If vehicle is started manually within the 20 minute window, the run time will be reset. For security, if the vehicle's doors are unlocked, they will be locked before the engine is remotely started by the smartphone application. You will be automatically logged out if the PIN number is entered incorrectly 5 times. If you forgot your PIN number, tap the "Forgot PIN number?" button and follow the onscreen instructions. After a successful remote engine start or stop, the application will be redirected to the Home screen.

RES+ SMARTPHONE OPERATION Door Unlock & Lock

OPERATION DOOR UNLOCK NOTE: This function may not be applicable for all models. [For iphone] 1. Tap Lock. 2. Tap UNLOCK. 3. Enter your PIN (4 digit). The doors will unlock. [For Android] 1. Tap Lock. 2. Tap UNLOCK. 3. Enter your PIN (4 digit). The doors will unlock. NOTE: You will be automatically logged out if the PIN number is entered incorrectly 5 times. If you forgot your PIN number, tap the "Forgot PIN number?" button and follow the on-screen instructions. After a successful remote door unlock, the application will be redirected to the Home screen. The door unlock function cannot be performed while the engine is running. If the doors have not been opened for 30 seconds after using the remote door unlock function, the doors will automatically lock.

NOTE: After a successful remote door lock, the application will be redirected to the Home screen. The door lock function cannot be performed while the engine is running.

OPERATION CAR FINDER NOTE: [For iphone] If the location of your vehicle has poor GPS signal strength, you may not be able to use the CarFinder function. CarFinder can be used in horizontal and portrait orientations. You will be unable to use the CarFinder function if the iphone/android location service setting is OFF. 1. Tap CarFinder. 2. RES+ INFORMATION HEATER / AIR CONDITIONER / DEFROSTER / DEFOGGER SETTINGS For your comfort and convenience, the vehicle s air conditioning system controls can be preset to operate the heater, air conditioner, and defroster/defogger at engine startup. The two tables below contain the settings recommended for best results. Users should preset these before exiting the vehicle. (Please see your vehicle s owner s manual for available settings.) RES+ INFORMATION VEHICLES WITH HEATED AND VENTILATED SEATS For vehicles equipped with Heated and Ventilated front seats these features can also be left on so that when the vehicle is remotely started these features will provide you with additional comfort upon entering the vehicle. RES+ RANGE The RES+ has unlimited range to operate provided there is sufficient cellular reception for both the Smartphone and Vehicle. The physical makeup of the surrounding environment (hills, trees, buildings, etc.) may affect the RES+ performance.

RES+ KEY FOB OPERATION Introduction

INTRODUCTION The REMOTE ENGINE STARTER allows you to start your engine from outside the vehicle. It utilizes your vehicle s keyless entry remote, so there is no need to carry around an extra remote. The REMOTE ENGINE STARTER is operated the same way for vehicles equipped with or without the Smart Entry / Push Start system; simply push the remote s LOCK button in a quick, two step sequence. In addition, the REMOTE ENGINE STARTER can activate the heater or air conditioner according to your preset temperature controls, providing you with a comfortable cabin upon entry. As an added convenience, the REMOTE ENGINE STARTER can also activate the defroster (when preset) to clear up the windshield during cold weather. To ensure your safety, and the safety of anyone near the vehicle, the REMOTE ENGINE STARTER is designed to shut the engine off when it detects any attempt to enter or move the vehicle after a remote engine start. Please consult your Lexus dealer for more details. NOTE: To utilize the REMOTE ENGINE STARTER, your vehicle must have an automatic transmission; it cannot be used for manual transmission models. NEVER remotely start the engine if you are unaware of the circumstances surrounding the vehicle as it may cause a life threatening situation for those located in the vehicle s vicinity. DO NOT remotely start the engine if the vehicle is in an enclosed area (such as an unventilated garage/parking lot) where too much exhaust may accumulate and create a hazardous environment with the potential for Carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning. DO NOT remotely start the engine if children or pets are present in or near the vehicle. It can lead to serious injury, or death. NEVER use product, or product packaging for purposes other than originally intended. Doing so could result in damage to the unit, fire, or injury/death. DO NOT remotely start the engine when it is near flammable substances and/or has a car cover on. The exhaust pipe and emissions can create a hazardous environment which can lead to serious injury or death. If the Check Engine Light has come on, DO NOT operate the Remote Engine Starter to start the engine until the vehicle has been checked by an authorized dealer technician. OPERATION OPERATING CONDITIONS The engine will NOT remotely start if one of the following conditions is detected. Door(s) are open. Hood is open. Ignition is ON. Brake pedal is being pressed. Vehicle s transmission is not in park (P). The remotely started engine will shut off if one of the following inputs is detected. Door(s) is opened. Hood is opened. Ignition is turned ON. Door is unlocked by Smart key, manual key, or remote FOB. Brake pedal is pressed. Vehicle s transmission is shifted out of park (P). The alarm is triggered.* If the vehicle s engine has been running for 10 minutes after being remotely started.** * The engine will continue to run if the panic alarm is activated. ** The vehicle can be restarted remotely for a total of 20 minutes. After 20 minutes of total run-time the Vehicle must be manually restarted to reset the run-time.

OPERATION REMOTE ENGINE START To start a vehicle remotely, press and release the LOCK button twice within two seconds, then press and hold the LOCK button for three seconds. STEP 1. Press and release the LOCK button on the remote twice within two seconds. hazard lights will flash each time. The A) Press and release the LOCK button. B) The hazard lights flash once. TWO SECONDS C) Press and release the LOCK button again. D) The hazard lights flash again. UNLOCK UNLOCK FOLLOWED IMMEDIATELY BY: STEP 2. Press and hold the LOCK button on the remote for three seconds. The hazard lights flash once when pressed, then again after three seconds. The engine starts, and the hazard lights flash for 20 seconds. A) Press and hold the LOCK button for three seconds. THREE SECONDS B) The hazard lights flash once. C) After three seconds, the hazard lights flash again. 20 SECONDS D) The engine starts and the hazard lights flash for 20 seconds. UNLOCK

OPERATION REMOTE ENGINE STOP There are two methods by which to shut off the vehicle engine remotely: Either press the UNLOCK button once OR press and hold the LOCK button for two or more seconds. METHOD 1: Press the UNLOCK button on the remote. The engine stops and the hazard lights flash twice. UNLOCK A) Press the UNLOCK button. B) The engine stops. C) The hazard lights flash twice. Using Method 1, your vehicle will remain unlocked for 30 seconds. Then it automatically relocks if no doors are opened. If your vehicle will not be in plain view for that time, or you have other security concerns, you may wish to use Method 2 (below), which does not unlock the vehicle. METHOD 2: Press and hold the LOCK button on the remote for two or more seconds. The engine stops and the hazard lights flash once. UNLOCK A) Press and hold the LOCK button for two seconds or more. B) The engine stops. C) The hazard lights flash once. NOTE: Vehicles started with the Remote Engine Starter can idle for a total of 20 minutes, however automatic engine shutdown occurs after 10 minutes of run-time. You can always restart the Vehicle after this initial shutdown. Once the total run-time exceeds 20 minutes the vehicle must be manually started in order to reset the Remote Engine Starter. NOTE: All doors will remain locked after the engine is shut off. NOTE: For vehicles equipped with Piezo, the buzzer will chirp the same number of times that the light flashes.
