Making a Deposit Using DepositPoint TM How to Make a Deposit Online Deposits made using DepositPoint consist of one item (check, money order, etc.) per deposit. To create a deposit, log in to Internet Banking, and select the Make a Deposit link from the menu on the left side of the Internet Banking home page. Page 1
ID Shield Question At the next screen, you may be asked to answer one of your Shield ID questions. After you ve entered your answer, select Continue. Page 2
Welcome You ll then see the Welcome to DepositPoint screen to start your deposit entry process. Select the Start a Deposit Online link in the left navigation or the Get Started button at the bottom of the screen. Page 3
Select an Account The next screen lists your accounts that are eligible for DepositPoint deposits. Choose Select Account in the Action column to pick the account where you wish to deposit your check. Page 4
Enter the Deposit Amount At the next screen, enter a description of the deposit and the dollar amount of the check you are depositing. Once you ve entered this information, select the Continue button. Page 5
Verify Deposit Amount Confirm that the dollar amount of the deposit you re making matches the check amount that you re depositing. Select the Continue button. Page 6
Choose Your Scanner Select your scanner from the drop-down box, then select Continue. Note: If you do not see your scanner type listed, select the Refresh Scanner List button to select your scanner. If you still do not see your scanner, you may need to use your scanner s original CD-ROM to re-load your scanner software. Page 7
Scan the Front of Your Check The screen below will display a sample of how a scanned check should look after you scan it. Place the check onto the scanner and following your scanner s document placement and scanning instructions. Once you ve positioned the check properly to scan the check front, select the Scan Front button, and the front of the item will be scanned. Page 8
Verify the Front Check Scan Verify the image clarity and dollar amount on the check matches the Deposit Amount. If the image is not clear or the dollar amount is not accurate, you can rescan the check, rotate the image or cancel the deposit. Once the image is acceptable, choose Continue. Page 9
Scan the Back of Your Check On the back of your check, verify that you ve endorsed it, written your account number on it and signed For Deposit Only on the back. Open the scanner, turn the check over and select the Scan Back button. Page 10
Verify the Back Check Scan Verify the image clarity and that all information for the check was properly scanned. The endirsement should be on the right. If the image is not clear, you have the option to re-scan the check, rotate the image or cancel the deposit. Once the image is acceptable, select Continue. Page 11
Preview Information You ll now see images of the front and back of your check. If you re comfortable with the image quality of your item, select the Submit button to submit the check to U.S. Bank for review and approval. Page 12
Confirmation Page Good news! Your deposit has successfully been submitted for processing (please note that this is not a confirmation that your item has been accepted). You ll get an email confirmation that we received the check and a second email to confirm it s either been accepted or possibly declined. Page 13
