INFORMATION ON QUALIFICATION The University of Johannesburg (UJ) offers the National Diploma in Logistics on a NQF level 6. The programme is offered full-time on the Auckland Park Bunting Road Campus. CONTACT SESSIONS (Only in JHB) First year, five subjects per semester, compulsory class attendance for each subject. Second year, five subjects per semester, compulsory class attendance for each subject. Third year, four subjects per semester, compulsory class attendance for each subject. DURATION OF QUALIFICATION Three year qualification. Warehouse Manager Campus APB LEARNING PATH You are eligible to apply for the BTech Logistics after completion of the National Diploma Logistics. ASSESSMENTS Various assessments take place during the course of the qualification. These can take the form of assignments, tests, presentations, case studies, exams and others. A minimum semester mark of 40% is required to gain entrance to the examination. Semester mark (50% of final mark) One theoretical examination (50% of final mark) 2
APPLICATION / REGISTRATION Complete the University of Johannesburg application form (available on the internet: http://www.uj.ac.za). Closing date for applications: September, to study in the following year. Attach certified copies of your highest academic qualifications and first page of your identification document to the application form. Remember to sign the application form on the last page. It is recommended that you enroll for 3 (three) subjects in the first semester and 2 (two) in the second semester. Students will be notified of their acceptance. Registration period for the National Diploma: January each year. Please contact student finances with regard to any fee queries. PROMOTION REQUIREMENTS Students are promoted: a. to the second year of study if they have passed the following modules, Business Management 1A and 1B, and Applied Accountancy Skills 1A and 1B. In additional a further 2 modules must be passed. b. Students must pass Logistics 2A and 2B before they can continue with Logistics 3A and 3B. c. Students must pass Purchasing 2A and 2B before they can continue with Purchasing 3A and 3B. d. Students are promoted to the third year of study if they have passed at least 8 subjects or a minimum of 16 modules. Students must take all outstanding subjects of the previous year of study, before they may take subjects from the next year of study, limited to a maximum of 6 subjects in any one year of study.
