1. Scholarship Program The program is an initiative developed by Instituto Escola São Paulo offering to provide professional training to boost their chances into the labor market. The program started in 2006 by selecting applicants from a short list submitted by social institutions in São Paulo which are specialized in education and support for young people. The Institute has offered 655 scholarships for young people in socially high-risk situations as well as educators and students from 18 partner social institutions. Its main aim is to develop the autonomy and independence of these young future professionals for them to become agents of social transformation.

1. Scholarship Program During the academic year, scholarship students take several different disciplines and courses at Escola São Paulo in the Creative Economy sectors. They may also participate in extracurricular activities, such as workshops and lectures on management, entrepreneurship, innovation, technology, creativity and leadership. Specially to the Love&Art s Scolarship Program, the students, during the whole process, were monitored by a team of coordinators providing full support to them, including assistance with transport and meals together with personal and group coaching.

3. Scolarship Students Testimonials

3. Scolarship Students Testimonials I just wanted to learn more, broaden the horizons, see different things. And the course surprised me: it was beyond my expectations because I had also learned to use tools like Lightroom and had many technical classes. Mauricio Alexandre Silva Maurício Alexandre Silva Date of Birth:17/02/1994 Course: 1 year of It was amazing. Professor Juan Esteves has deep knowledge of photography, he seems to know everything! The classes were dynamic with many guests providing us a very important understanding on other artists' work. In the period I studied at Escola São Paulo, I produced the short-film called A mesma fé que a tua ( The same faith you have ), and also the best work I ve ever did: 25 years video of the Rap Music Group called Racionais MCs, recorded during their live music tour. Before studying at Escola São Paulo I was able to only take documentary photos of social events. Currently I m working as a freelancer in video production. The main improvement I had with the course is related to the photos I take: nowadays I know how to find the best framing and expressions on people. It enables me to get better jobs and to create authorial works. Testimonial from Dec 2014

3. Scolarship Students Testimonials I was hoping to learn a lot of theory, but the course was exactly what I wanted for my professional career. I really enjoyed all the classes and the teacher. I m currently working with audiovisual production. The quality of my work has improved a lot since the course has begun. I ve learned to deal with aesthetics, photography and video framing. Matheus Cardoso Lima Date of Birth: 09/02/1994 Course: 1 year of Today, I work as a freelancer for institutional videos. These videos usually show company s results through customers interviews. Testimonial from Dec 2014

3. Scolarship Students Testimonials My dream was to become a filmmaker. For the course, my expectation was to expand my knowledge in cinema and also meet great professionals. During the course I had the chance to direct a movie and co-direct another. I have learned things I could not imagine and have perfected others. Mathews Vinicius Martins Silva Date of Birth: 26/04/1996 Course: 1 year of Cinema I took classes with the main cinema professionals, learned more technically how to use photography on movies, languages and filmed narratives. Besides that, the practical classes were great. At the end of the course I was able to produce a complete movie script. Before the scholarship I hadn t worked with cinema. During and after the course, several opportunities emerged, I ve made some short-films, and also an advertisement for an university called: Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie, which was exhibited in major television networks. This was my biggest job of the year. In January 2015 I will have other jobs thanks to the cinema course. Testimonial from Dec 2014

3. Scolarship Students Testimonials The expectation was to learn everything, because I had not much basis. What I knew, before the course, was the pop movies that are usually played at the malls. I have learned a lot of references from Lina Chamie and other teachers. My cultural repertoire about cinema and directors was expanded. Escola São Paulo has showed me a universe I did not know. I can only thank the school for the scholarship opportunity, I have nothing to complain about it. Victor Hugo Costa de Melo Date of Birth: 27/09/1994 Course: 1 year of Cinema After the course, I started to work with photography. I opened my own company " Victor Hugo Photo and Video". We do photo essays and party events. This year I have achieved more than 5 jobs and I have good expectations to 2015. Testimonial from Dec 2014

3. Scolarship Students Testimonials I always wanted to make a cinema course, and I m in love with it. Escola São Paulo brought me many opportunities. It is more than a school, is a family. I am thankful for the opportunity. It was a very good experience. I had taken some other courses before, and also had tried to make home-made movies, but I didn t have enough experience to do so. At Escola São Paulo I have learned the practice and the theory, learned to handle a camera and how to perform a professional behavior. Juliana Santos da Silva Date of Birth: 17/09/1983 Course: 1 year of Cinema This scholarship has opened several doors for me, today I am working as a cultural producer at a dance company called Cia Sansacroma located in the district of Capão Redondo, São Paulo. The Company does presentations of afro and political dances. Testimonial from Oct 2014

3. Scolarship Students Testimonials Juan Esteves is an incredible professional, a photographer with a great background, brought me many references, showed me different ways to make a picture, and how to seek the expected result. I had never used flash, the course helped me a lot in this part, it had clarified all my practical and theoretical doubts. I think I am a more accurate professional after this course. Renan Ferreira Barbosa Date of Birth: 23/02/1993 Course: of Portrait Direction I work in a production of advertising, I create video for publicity and I work as a freelancer photographer. I confess that after this course I am willing to be focused only on the photograph sector. I am working to get there!
