3-1 Introduction The EZ-Swap 2 Serial ATA version is as convenient as mobile racks get. The EZ-Swap 2 SATA features the ability to directly connect your SATA hard drive without going through any additional circuits. Simply place the hard drive inside the cartridge, screw it in place, and your done. The EZ-Swap 2 SATA also features keyed lock protection to prevent removal while in use. Since it uses SATA technology, the EZ-Swap 2 SATA is also hot swappable. Easy, convenient, and reliable, the EZ-Swap 2 SATA is the ideal SATA mobile rack. EZ-Swap 2 SATA Features Aluminum case design aides in heat dissipation Built-in fan circulates and exhausts high heat generated by high-speed drives to maintain a safe operating temperature environment Support Serial ATA hard drives Hot swappable - change hard drives without shutting your system off Supports RAID configurations Drive bay module for mounting a 3.5-inch hard disk in a 5.25 inch drive bay Convenient pull-out handle Safety lock feature LED indicators for power and drive activity Dimensions: 8.4" (D) x 5.8" (W) x 1.6" (H) Aluminum Mobile Rack 3-3

Unpacking Your Mobile Rack Before installing the Mobile Rack, verify that the following items are included in the carton. If any parts are damaged or missing, please contact your local dealer or sales representative immediately. 1.One Mobile Rack Removable Docking Module 2.Twelve (12) mounting screws 3.2 keys 4.One user s guide SATA Basics Serial ATA (SATA) is the latest interface standard used for hard drives, optical drives (CD/DVD Rom drives), and other computer devices. Because it uses serial technology, information is transferred in a single stream, rather than along parallel paths. SATA thereby eliminates the restrictions on performance, reliability, and scalability that are inherent in standard IDE (parallel ATA) interfaces. SATA offers the speed and reliability formerly only found on SCSI (Small Computer System Interface) without the high costs and maintenance. SATA allows for RAID (Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks) systems and the ability to add or remove devices without requiring the system to be powered down first. 3-4 Aluminum Mobile Rack

3-2 Hardware Installation The Aluminum Mobile Rack Docking Module is designed to install in any PC/AT or Pentium-class computer that has an available 5.25-inch half-height drive bay.
