History Bandera was established in 1947 by Luigi Bandera and soon proved to be a strong expanding company, thus contributing to the actual development of plastics processing industry in Europe. In 1960s 1970s, Bandera activities underwent remarkable expansion to reach an industrial scale production, offering a wide and diversified range of extrusion products, such as pipe extrusion lines, profile extrusion equipment, sheet extrusion lines. In 1980s 1990s the company was acknowledged as one of the leaders in blown film extrusion and sheet extrusion in Europe and worldwide. Bandera, currently managed by Piero and Franco, the founder s sons, has recently focussed its product range on the main application of packaging and converting, developing detailed worldwide sales and service operations and enlarging again the production facility to satisfy the customer need to test complete plants. 04 PACKAGING and CONVERTING: THE FUTURE of EXTRUSION Built on an industrial complex of more than 55.000 sq. mts, Bandera internally design and manufacture mechanical components, such as large size extruder screws, barrels and die-heads. Our in-house manufacturing facility ensures the best quality as well as a prompt supply of spare parts, including non-standard or out of production components. Development staff with in-depth knowledge of rheology accommodates, in a dedicated brand new plant, R&D industrial tests and executes complete line wet trials. Bandera extrusion process combines industrial series production with engineering, R&D, quality check procedures and after service. 04.1 BLOWN FILM EXTRUSION main production lines Adhering to strict compliance with accredited procedures and accuracy in selecting reliable and skilled European part suppliers, Bandera is focused on exclusive in-house manufacture of the basic equipment for its blown film extrusion lines - a reason for the company excellence in the field. Bandera is ranked among the few European and world manufacturers of extrusion machinery whose technological assets feature a know-how combining synergies of rigid and flexible packaging fields with the experience acquired in direct production of blown film extrusion heads in small, medium and large sizes. Control systems Bandera blown film extrusion lines are equipped with automatic quality control systems, such as loss-in-weight gravimetric dosing system, in-line film thickness measurement, automatic winding, supervisory system and user-friendly computerised line control. Production range The full production range includes: Techno Flex plus blown film machines mainly, used in the flexible packaging industry, converting and lamination industry for the production of multi layer film; HDB Flex equipment mainly used for the production of industrial bags; HYBRID Flex machines particularly suggested for industrial application; Smart Flex plus blown film plants for the production of retail bags and bags of different shapes and sizes, as well as shrink film. 04.2 FOIL AND SHEET EXTRUSION main production lines Bandera manufactures complete extrusion lines for the production of high thickness windable single and multilayer. The best technology The company is world leader in extrusion technology intended for high rate outputs (up to and over 2,500kg/h), thickness and width range (0.12 2mm up to and over 2,400mm width) for the production of PET foil. Furthermore, Bandera innovatively developed bulk dosing systems for master batches and mineral fillers for composite sheet by co-rotating twin-screw and/or cascade extruders combined with innovative and precise raw material gravimetric loss-in-weight dosing units, fully automated multi-reel winding systems for high-speed foil extrusion lines and melt super filtration systems. Innovative know-how and technologies are applied to a cutting edge thermoplastic process in applications such as 120micron 2mm thickness windable foil from HIPS, PP, CRPS, A/CPET, PETG and PLA, for rigid thermoformed food packaging. 04.3 PVC - PET PELLETIZING and STEEL PIPE COATING auxiliary lines Costruzioni Meccaniche Luigi Bandera designs and manufactures complete rigid and soft PVC and PET pelletizing lines for several and various applications. PVC pelletizing PET pelletizing The core process of PVC pelletizing is made of the twin-screw extruder featuring parallel counter-rotating twin screws with increased length (L/D 1:28). This extruder stands out for enhanced product quality - material jellification in the barrel is made step by step and under lower stress conditions -, and for high productivity with high flexibility in recipes. PET pelletizing process is made of co-rotating twin screw extruders and PET/PP pelletizing lines for direct extrusion for compounding and recycling. Co-rotating extruders applied to compounding extrusion are used in a large number of high tech applications in several vertical markets, among which the most important are food, textile and automotive. Steel pipe coating Bandera has been operating in the thermoplastic resin and steel pipe coating industries for over 20 years, offering complete extrusion systems for outer thermoplastics (PE and adhesive) coating lines intended for steel pipes for ducting, especially in hydrocarbon transportation. Coating lines are divided into sleeve-type extrusion, with a coating head intended for pipe diameters up to 24 and side-banded extrusion (flat die head) for pipe diameters up to 80.
