DIRECTV MFH2 Single Wire Satellite Distribution System Introduction The DIRECTV MFH2 System is a single-wire solution for distributing all DIRECTV Ku/Ka satellite bands from each orbital satellite slot into a Multi-Dwelling Unit (MDU) via a single homerun wire. This technology enables a customer to receive all of DIRECTV s programming and services on multiple receivers inside a customer s premise. MFH2 Components FMC-6 Chassis and SWM-8 module The main technology element for MFH2 is the eight (8) channel Single Wire Multi-switch module (SWM-8) and the six slot FMC-6 chassis shown above. The eight channel SWM is designed to provide DIRECTV programming from all current and future Ku/Ka satellites via a single home run wire to a set of multiple receivers connected using one or more passive splitters inside the customer premise. The SWM-8 allocates up to eight channels for viewer selected programming for MFH2 compatible receivers. The FMC-6 is a six (6) slot chassis designed to house up to six (6) SWM-8 modules. FMC-6 Distribution Chassis Enables easy expansion of MFH2 services on a dwelling by dwelling basis. Can be cascaded for easy expansion. Supports up to 12 customer dwellings (typical) for each fully configured FMC-6 chassis unit. Easy installation. LED Indicators confirm presence of signals and DC line power. The FMC-6 Six slot distribution chassis supports up to six SWM-8 modules per chassis. A fully configured FMC-6 requires three 3A-501DA24 24 VCD power supplies.
