SALARY The salary consists of: Base pay Job structure supplements Qualification supplements Function supplements One-off bonuses (for special services/efforts) 4

SALARY Job structure supplements i.e. post doc supplement, associate professor s supplement Qualification supplements are granted to employees who perform special, defined teaching, research and knowledge dissemination activities in addition to their normal duties. Function supplements are granted to employees who perform a specific function entitling them to such a supplement under this agreement. One-off bonuses for special services which contribute to achieving the strategy and vision of the school and thus the individual departments.

OTHER MATTERS 37 hours a week for a full time position Employees such as researchers who themselves plan their work or whose working time cannot be checked are not entitled to overtime pay Normally half an hour paid lunch break is included in the working hours Sickness: Normally full pay during sickness

TAXATION Ordinary income taxation on salary and allowances (may vary, but up to 50% on average) Special researchers tax scheme - for researchers recruited abroad (minimum level of assistant professor) for a period of maximum 60 month. The 60 months may be distributed over several periods 26% plus 8% Labour Market Contribution (Social Security Tax) 13

HOLIDAY Calender year (January 1st December 31st) Holiday year (May 1st April 30th) 5 weeks ordinary holiday = 2.08 days per month with pay if employed in the full calender year prior to the holiday year 1 week s special holiday = 0.42 days per month if employed in the full calender year prior to the holiday year 14

HOLIDAY After consultations with the employee the employer decides when the ordinary holiday is to be taken. Generally 4 weeks in summer and 2 weeks during winter Holiday Allowance = paid out with the May salary - holiday allowance is calculated as 1.5% of the taxable income in the previous calender year All holidays earned but not takenwill be paid to the employee when leaving Denmark

MATERNITY/PATERNITY LEAVE Mother: 6 weeks before expected childbirth and 26 weeks after childbirth with full pay Father: 2 weeks after the childbirth and an additional 6 weeks with full pay Childcare days: 2 childcare days per child per calender year until the child has reached the age of 7 21

MATERNITY/PATERNITY LEAVE Options: partial resumption of work during leave, deferment of leave, extention of leave If PhD Fellow or Assistant Professor (fixed term furthereducation posts), the employment period will be prolonged with the period of maternity/paternity leave taken during the employment period Right to paid leave on the first two sickness days of a child 22
