MAXPRO NVR 2.0 Upgrade Guide MAXPRO NVR 2.0 Software Upgrade 1 This guide explains how to upgrade MAXPRO NVR 1.0 (Builds 10, 11, 15, or 15 Hotfix) to MAXPRO NVR 2.0 (Build 22). Before You Begin Before you uprade to MAXPRO NVR 2.0, please ensure that Service Pack 1 is installed on your NVR. To check if Microsoft Windows 7 Service Pack 1 is installed: 1. From the Start menu, right-click Computer, then select Properties. 2. Check to see if Service Pack 1 is installed. Figure 1 Windows Properties Dialog Document 800-11197 Rev A 03/2012
4 MAXPRO NVR 2.0 Upgrade Guide 3. To upgrade Windows 7 to Service Pack 1: Service Pack 1 can be installed using the MAXPRO NVR Extras DVD. Run Setup.exe from the SP1 folder on the DVD. OR Service Pack 1 can be downloaded from the following link: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=5842. Download and install windows6.1-kb976932-x86.exe from the link. Note Honeywell recommends that you do a database backup before running the upgrade. A database backup can be done from the MAXPRO NVR Agent. Upgrading to MAXPRO NVR 2.0 To upgrade to MAXPRO NVR 2.0: 1. Insert the MAXPRO NVR Software and Documentation DVD into the DVD drive, and then double-click Setup.exe, from the DVD. A Prompt to Uninstall SQL Express 2005 Management Studio appears if SQL Server 2005 Management Studio is installed. Go to step a. Figure 2 Prompt to Uninstall SQL Express 2005 Management Studio a. Click OK. b. To uninstall SQL 2005 Management Express, go to Control Panel Programs and Features. Select Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express, then click Uninstall (see Figure 3).
MAXPRO NVR 2.0 Software Upgrade 5 c. After the uninstall of Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express is complete, please run Setup.exe from the DVD again. CAUTION Please do not uninstall Microsoft SQL Server 2005; only Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express should be uninstalled. 6 MAXPRO NVR 2.0 Upgrade Guide Figure 5 Validation of User Credentials 3. Select your Domain Name/Host Name. 4. In the User Name box, type your Windows user name. 5. In the Password box, type your Windows password. 6. Click Next. The following message as shown in Figure 6 appears. Figure 6 Enabling Auto Logon 7. Click Yes. Figure 7 appears.

While upgrading the MAXPRO NVR Server, you are prompted to stop MAXPRO NVR Agent (see Figure 8). Figure 8 Stop the MAXPRO NVR Agent Prompt 10. Select the Automatically close applications and attempt to restart them after setup is complete option, then click OK. CAUTION While upgrading the MAXPRO NVR components, if you are prompted to stop the MAXPRO NVR Wizard, then ONLY follow the procedure from step a to step d below; otherwise, go to step 11 on page 9. 800-11197 - A - 03/2012
8 MAXPRO NVR 2.0 Upgrade Guide a. If you are prompted to stop MAXPRO NVR Wizard (see Figure 9), you must close the MAXPRO NVR Wizard. Figure 9 Prompt to Stop MAXPRO NVR Wizard b. Right-click the MAXPRO NVR Wizard icon the System Taskbar, then select Exit (see Figure 10). Figure 10 Stopping the MAXPRO NVR Agent c. After exiting the MAXPRO NVR wizard, if you are again prompted to stop MAXPRO NVR Wizard (see Figure 11), you must manually close it.

To stop the MAXPRO NVR Wizard, open the Windows Task Manager, select MaxproNVRQuickWizard.exe, then click End Process (see Figure 12). On upgrading MAXPRO NVR TrinityFramework, MAXPRO NVR Scheduler and MAXPRO NVR Client, you are prompted to stop TrinityJobscheduler and TrinityScheduler (see Figure 13). 800-11197 - A - 03/2012

The upgrade status of various components appears. Figure 14 appears after the upgrade is finished. Figure 14 Upgrade Complete 13. Click Finish. You are prompted to reboot the computer to complete the MAXPRO NVR upgrade. 14. Click OK. Your computer reboots. Note Please upgrade any remote NVR clients by running Setup.exe from the MAXPRO NVR Software and Documentation DVD.
MAXPRO NVR 2.0 Software Upgrade 11 Installing MAXPRO Mobile Server on the NVR To install MAXPRO Mobile Server on the NVR: 1. Go to Control Panel Programs and Features. if MAXPRO NVR Mobile is installed, please uninstall it. 2. Run MAXPRO_NVR_Mobile_1.4.exe from the MAXPRO NVR Mobile folder on the MAXPRO NVR Extras DVD.
