Also, all proposed Amendments to the Constitution and Bylaws were adopted with the exception of the proposed amendment to increase the undergraduate GPA to 2.75. Regional Our fall NC State meeting will be held in Greenville, NC, October 4-5, 2013, at the Greenville Hilton. The cost is $65.00 for Alumnae and $55.00 for Collegiate and Delta Dear participants. There will be a Social Action meeting and President s meeting Friday evening. The Finance meeting details have not been determined. Money for the state meeting will be collected in September at chapter meeting and information will go out to the chapter soon. Local A special thank you was expressed to the Retreat Chairs and the committee for a wonderful retreat. Additional thanks given to Soror Lewis and the Executive Committee for leading in the absence of Soror Rew. The Executive Committee held its retreat July 28, 2013. Some clarification was shared about the report made at the National Convention. Charlotte was invited to host the 2017 National Convention but declined the offer. Chapters are NOT contacted directly. Rather cities convention bureaus are invited to submit a RFP from the National staff for consideration. In this case, Charlotte was invited, however, declined for the following reasons. Charlotte was not able to meet the criteria needed to accommodate the convention. We have July 12-19, 2017 and August 9-16, 2017 available. In order to accommodate the space below, all of the special events would have to be held at Time Warner Cable Arena located 3 blocks from the Charlotte Convention Center. Exhibit space of 105,000 square feet could only offer 80,000 and would require move out on Tuesday instead of Wednesday to be able to accommodate the Closing Banquet Closing Banquet for 11,000 to 15,000 people rounds we can do 10,000 people in Hall ABC and would have to do overflow in Crown Ballroom for another 2,400 people. Club Delta for 2,000 to 5,000 people and the hospitality suite for 2500 to 3500 people - would have not be able to accommodate at the Convention Center. Our (2) largest hotels

could host the max numbers of approximately 2,000 in the ballroom. Seven simultaneous lunches on Saturday or Sunday were needed and we can accommodate 5 of the 7 lunches but they would have to be on Saturday. The Farwest and Midwest luncheons would have to be off site. Max numbers for the Midwest luncheon at our largest hotel would be approximately 1,200. The Social Action Luncheon has a choice of Sun/Mon/Tues or Wed we would have to have this lunch on Sunday to accommodate. The Collegiate Luncheon has a choice of Sun/Mon/Tues or Wed we would have to have this lunch on Monday to accommodate. The Storage for 3,713 square feet we can offer 2,640 square feet 50-75 workshops from Wed-Wed The only rooms that would be available from Wed- Wed are 201AB, 202AB, 204, 205, 206AB, 209AB, 210AB, 218AB, 219AB, 203B (approximately 10 rooms). It is recommended we move the May chapter meeting to Monday, May 12, 2014. The rationale is due to typical low attendance to this meeting and the meeting falls on Mother s Day weekend. It was recommended that we should follow up with the Regional Director to ensure awareness of this change. Motion: Desire Rew moved for May Sorority meeting to Monday, May 12, 2014 In Favor :15 Oppose 0 Motion Carries

Committee Reports Full committee reports are posted on the Yahoo group s site. Co-Chairs are asked to cover updates and any actions, motions or recommendations to the Board. PPD Pamela Lewis Our community service activity with a Child s Place for the retreat was a success. The partnership of having a representative share with the chapter was helpful to bridge the community. Delta Academy has 32 participants for 2013-2014 and Delta Gems has 70 participants for 2013-2014. This year our kick off r partnership with the PARC will be with the Social Action Committee focusing on World Alzheimer s month in September. Action needed by Chapter is active support in PPD programs and activities. Membership Services - Melody Harris This year s Membership services will host a new activity called Fellowship Friday s or Throw Down Fridays at the Delta Center to be held the third Friday of the each month at the Delta Center. This is a casual event for Sorors to fellowship and bond. Each sub-committee of the membership services committee will sponsor a night. The first activity is pending Friday, September 20, 2013. The Membership Services committee would like to carryover any funds remaining or that might be reimbursed in relation to the chartered bus services for the National Convention. Funds will be used for awards for CAC Dynamic Delta. Music - Toni Baker The committee is looking for Sorors to join our committee. This year, we are also looking for musicians of all types to add to our vocal styles. The next meeting will be Saturday, September 7, 10:30 a.m. at The Delta Center.

Cotillion Jodi Turner This year s Cotillion will be held April 19 at the Halton Arena at UNC Charlotte. The theme will be Now, Then and Forever Legions and Legacies. The committee encourages participation from the chapter particularly on Archives and History for this special 50th celebration. Everyone is reminded to sign up for the Risk management training if they plan to volunteer with the Cotillion. The next meeting is September 8, 2013 the location to be determined. Protocol Antionette Cody The committee has not met this yet this year. However, the goals were shared at the retreat with those who signed up to be on the committee. A DID will be held to share the changes from the convention. The committee would like to work directly with each committee that has an activity where protocol is needed. Protocol tips will be included in the monthly newsletter. Protocol Meetings will be held prior to each activity that is being held. Social Action Lucy Frierson The Social committee meeting will be held September 9 at the Delta Center. Originally, on September 5 a Political Forum was planned to be held at the Delta Center. However, the Delta Center is not available on September 5, rather the Delta Center is available Tuesday, September 3. A discussion was held to determine if this date would work for good chapter participation. It was determined not to proceed with this event. A reminder was given for everyone to vote in the primary elections. Risk Management Currently there are ten people on the committee and a risk presentation was shared at the retreat. There will be four training upcoming training dates August 27, 29 and September 10, 17. Sorors participating in the training will receive the application ahead of time to speed the process up. Once Sorors go to the training, the certification is good for 2 years.
