Level 1 Orientation Mentor Guide (eservice/lms Input)

Guide Contents This guide will detail how to enter the skills evaluations/in-residence requirements in the Learning Management System (LMS). The guide will also provide instructions on how to view a member s completion of courses and quizzes in the LMS. There is a listing of the Level 1 Orientation requirements at attachment 1 that can be used as a manual tracker of completed items. The Level 1 Orientation course permits the commander to approve a new members Level 1 completion without the submission of any Form 11s. All requirements (Intro to Safety, EO, CPPT, Foundations) are all completed online. Requirements It is the Professional Development Officer s (PDO) responsibility to lead a new member through the requirements of Level 1. The new Level I is designed to provide the new member with a relevant, yet thorough introduction to Civil Air Patrol. It is also designed to encourage new member inclusion into the squadron through a series of structured experiences. One of the ways to provide the new member with a sense of inclusion is to introduce them to the interworking of the unit and Civil Air Patrol. The instructions below show how to record the PDO/mentor completion of the required interaction with the new member in order for the new member to complete 1 and move to greater responsibility in the unit.
