FasTagger FasTagger Trouble Shooting 1. Tag material will not feed. A. Check to see that the material is approved for use in the FasTagger and manufactured to Weber Marking Systems, Inc. specifications. B. Material has jammed inside the tag guide. This requires removal of tag guide to clear. Follow instructions for "Changing Material Widths." C. Tag guide has been dented or distorted. Replace tag guide and the index pawl (if it is worn) from coming in contact with damaged tag guide. D. Stapler fires but indexing head is not operating. Adjust pad on trigger spindle so that both units operate when trigger has been fully squeezed. 2. Tag Material will not cut. Weber A. Index stop pin (used to change feed length) was engaged (pushed in) without the unit energized. Retract pin with air line disconnected and follow instructions for "Changing Feed Length." B. Dull knives. Replace per instructions in "Knife Replacement Kit." Marking Systems, Inc. For Service: call 1-800-323-8519 711 W. Algonquin Rd. FasTagger FasTagger E. Release the slide block. F. Place the appropriate width tag guide on the unit by first hooking it onto the stationary pins. It is important to push the tag guide against the main body to ensure that the antibackup pawl is in the correct operating position. G. Push slide block fully to the right. H. Slide tag guide upwards against the main body and hook it onto the slide block pins. I. Release the slide block. The tag guide is a thin, precision tempered steel component which is subject to damage from abuse and improper storage. It should be stored separately in a box to prevent any distortion or denting which would render it useless. 15

FasTagger FasTagger 4. Changing Feed Lengths from 1-3/8" to 2-3/4" A. Disconnect air hose and remove staples. B. Reconnect air hose. C. Fully squeeze trigger and hold. Do not point the unit towards yourself or anyone else. D. Using screwdriver, rotate index stop pin 90 clockwise and then remove screwdriver to retract pin. E. Release trigger and FasTagger is ready for 2-3/4" long tags. Weber FasTagger Model 2100-QC Instructions 5. Changing Material Widths A. Disconnect air hose and remove staples. B. Turn FasTagger upside down. C. Push slide block fully to the right. D. Remove the tag guide by lifting it off at the slide block and then pulling it away from the stationary pins. Introduction The Weber Model 2100-QC FasTagger automatic tag stapler is a precision, high-speed tool. This tool will provide dependable service when used properly. Please carefully read this manual and the Bostitch manual (included) to understand all of the safety warnings before attempting to operate the FasTagger. Weber and FasTagger are registered trademarks of Weber Marking Systems, Inc. 14 3

FasTagger FasTagger Safety Approved eye protection must be worn by the operator and others within the work area. (Approved safety glasses are included.) Always disconnect the air supply before making adjustments, servicing the tool, loading tags or staples, clearing jams, and when the tool is not in use. C. Remove the remaining material by pulling it out of the unit from the staple discharge area. (There is an antibackup device which prevents material removal from the tag guide inlet.) Never pull the material backwards through the FasTagger. When you come to the end of a roll of tags, the last two feet of tags should be pulled out of the unit as the FasTagger will not dispense the last few tags. If, these are not removed, they will cause the unit to jam when a new roll is loaded. 3. Changing Feed Lengths from 2-3/4" to 1-3/8" A. Disconnect air hose and remove staples. B. Reconnect air hose. C. Fully squeeze trigger and hold to keep unit energized. Do not point the unit at yourself or anyone else. Never place a hand or any other body part in front of the staple discharge area while the air supply is connected. D. Using screwdriver (supplied), push index stop pin in fully, and rotate it 90 counterclockwise. E. Release trigger and FasTagger is ready for 1-3/8" long tags. 4 13

FasTagger FasTagger F. Connect the air hose to the gun. (Safety glasses should be worn at this time.) Cycle the unit several times until the tag stock has self-fed and is properly indexed in front of the staple discharge area. Safety If the material does not start to self-feed, push the tag stock 1/2" further into the tag guide and cycle the unit again. G. Disconnect air hose and load staples per Bostitch instructions. Do not use oxygen or combustible gases as a power source for this tool. H. Reconnect the air hose. The FasTagger is now ready for use. Place the nose of the unit lightly up against the material to be tagged and fully squeeze the trigger. Upon releasing the trigger, remove the FasTagger from contact with the material to allow the indexing of the next tag. Never point the unit at another person while the air supply is connected. 2. Unloading Tag Stock A. Disconnect air hose and remove staples. B. Cleanly sever tag material in between twist roller and tag guide. 12 5

FasTagger al Requirements Compressed air- 3.5 SCFM at 80 PSI minimum; 60-100 PSI operational range (do not exceed 100 PSI). Air dryer recommended for optimum tool life. Air filter - 40 micron minimum. FasTagger Lubrication A. Manual 2 drops in connector every 8 hours. B. Automatic 1 drop/minute at 10 SCFM flow rate with lubricator located no farther than 50 feet away from the FasTagger. Maximum 50 feet of 1/4" I.D. air hose. D. Route tag stock over twist roller and in between standoff, then down towards the tag guide. Twist the tag stock (either direction) a quarter turn so the visible surface is properly oriented to the board after stapling. Safety glasses with side shields (to meet ANSI Z 87.1). E. Insert the end of the tag material (the end must be cleanly cut or it will jam in the unit) into the tag guide. Feed the tag stock approximately 1/2" past the first click. Tag material must be completely free of any tape used for securing the loose end of the tag material as there is only minimal clearance in the tag guide. If tape does cause the tag to jam, removal of the tag guide is required to clear. 6 11

FasTagger FasTagger 1. Loading Tag Stock When loading the Poly Tag, always check to see that there are no staples in the staple magazine and that the air supply is disconnected. A. Open tag holder outer door by unscrewing thumb knob. Mount the Filter/Lubricator/Regulator (FLR) downstream from the Compressor and Air Dryer (a recommended accessory) within 50 feet of the intended work area. Refer to the FLR operator's manual for proper installation instructions and lubrication adjustments. 3. Pressurize the FLR/air hose assembly and adjust the regulator to 60 PSI (this is the minimum pressure required to operate the FasTagger). The pressure adjustment has a direct effect on how deep the staples are driven. The more pressure (up to 100 PSI maximum), the deeper the staples are driven into the base material. The adjustment should be set to drive a staple through the tag and into the base material without the crown of the staple cutting through the tag. 2. Attach the air hose to the lubricator outlet of the FLR unit. To reduce operator fatigue, a hanging ring is provided and may be installed on the front nose block for use with an overhead tool balancer. Remove the left mounting screw and replace with hanging ring. 8 9
