Do not use as a positive stop. A door stop must be used. Positive backcheck function prevents the door and frame from accidental damage by sudden opening of door. Delayed action starts at angles beyond 65 degrees. BS 1154 states the minimum requirement to be 20 seconds. All Newstar closers are factory set at 40 seconds.
