Mercedes-Benz Navigation System 3 The world is changing every day. 16/17 Available as a factory or dealer-installed option, the Mercedes-Benz Navigation System is an in-dash console that combines Global Positioning System (GPS) technology with detailed electronic maps to allow you to plan trips, navigate detours and help prevent you from getting lost. (Vehicle location is determined by the GPS system.) The system covers more than 4.6 million miles of navigable roads in the 48 contiguous United States, plus Hawaii and Canada. The Navigation System also offers 1.6 million Points Of Interest in 40 categories including ATMs, hospitals, hotels, airports, museums and more. NavUpdate Data Your Mercedes-Benz Navigation System relies upon a detailed electronic map to guide you to your destinations and help you find the services and attractions that you need and want in your daily life. But things are constantly changing out there. Roads are added or diverted, restaurants open and close, hotels and hospitals are built, ATMs move. In fact, as much as 20 percent of the navigation data available for this system is updated every year. That is why Mercedes-Benz offers updated navigation data available for purchase from your authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer to help ensure that you always have current navigation information. 3 Navigation system data represents the 48 contiguous United States, plus Hawaii and Canada. Directional assistance provided only when GPS coverage is available. Maps do not cover all areas nor all routes within an area. While the navigation system provides directional assistance, the driver must remain focused on safe driving behavior, including paying attention to traffic and street signs.
