Double-click on a comment to edit the comment Double-click on the snapshot to zoom to the viewpoint in the model 2015 KUBUS BV R2.2.1 11

Important information regarding linked models in Revit or Reference models in TEKLA Structures An issue makes use of the IFC identifiers that are written in every IFC component called GUID s. BCF stores these in the viewpoint to select and show the corresponding components. These GUIDs are unique and cannot be given to different components. When you use a IFC file as a link in ARCHICAD or Revit, it depends on the application and the version how it handles these GUIDs. ARCHICAD From ARCHICAD 18 there is a solution build in to overcome this issue. It is therefore possible to zoom to components from a linked file. For Revit, such a solution is not (yet) available. Revit Linked files in Revit will not be shown when zooming to an issue due to lack of support for this from Revit. We recommend the following workflow when using (multiple) links in a Revit file: Use the zoom to as usual, then select the scopebox checkbox in the view properties. This wil create an section box around the visible components. You can use the function; Reveal Hidden Elements to view the components in linked models. This way the context of an issue can be made clear. TEKLA Structures Due to certain limitations the current release of the BCF manager for TEKLA does not have the ability to isolate components that are in the TEKLA reference models. Only the components from the TEKLA project can be made visible when zooming to an issue. 2015 KUBUS BV R2.2.1 12

Working with issues Editing a (new) issue When you create a new issue or start editing an existing issue you will enter the issue dialog box like below. You can change the issue properties. You can add a new comment and/or viewpoint to the issue for example to explain the modification. When you Edit, Reactivate or Close an issue, you can also add a comment and/or viewpoint. When you create a new issue a viewpoint is automatically added. When you edit an issue use this camera-button to add a viewpoint, created from the current modelview. A viewpoint added by selecting an image or by taking a photo does not contain linked information to the BIM model. Edit snapshot (Only in Revit version) Store the selection of elements Select the objects you want visible in the viewpoint: selected objects, all visible objects no objects (whole model). Note: For TEKLA Structures the option to link the visible components is not available. To link components, first select them in the 3D view and choose; viewpoint/ selected. Whole model results in showing the whole model when you zoom-to the viewpoint while linking no components. Next to linking visible elements, you can choose to add a selection to an issue. With this you can make certain elements visible and have elements selected when you zoom to it. Setup a illustrative 2D or 3D view when you create or edit an issue for a good viewpoint. Camera position, zoom-factor and cutting planes are also saved to the viewpoint. 2015 KUBUS BV R2.2.1 13

Available Issue properties Title and description Always try to give a short title and a clear description to the issue for easy understanding. Responsible team member You can assign an issue to any of the team members who are Assignable as defined by the project leader. Status of the issue We have a strict workflow regarding the status of an issue: Active -> Resolved -> Closed. The status can only be changed with buttons. A Resolved issue can also be Reactivated and a Closed issue can be Reopened. Classify the issue Select Type, Area and Labels from predefined lists to classify the issue. Milestones and Areas can be defined by the project leader of a project in the web-application of BIMcollab. Type and labels are predefined or can be set for BIMcollab projects by the BIMcollab administrator. Schedule the resolution With priority, milestone and deadline you can schedule the issue. A milestone can contain an end-date as setup by the project leader. The deadline can only be changed per issue in the web-application of BIMcollab. Viewpoints A viewpoint can contain a snapshot of the issue, a list of id s of involved objects and a camera position. When you create issues in a BIM tool which supports BIMcollab or BCF files, these are added automatically. When you select an image or take a photo to add to the issue, there is no link to the BIM model. Area s Area s can be used for geometrical area s in a construction project like foundation, roof or left-wing, top-floor, etc. But also for more logical area s like design, mep, structural, construction or other classifications. Note: Milestone and Area are not available in off-line mode of BCF manager when working with BCF files. 2015 KUBUS BV R2.2.1 14

Additional functionality for SimpleBIM Property validation and automatic issue generation With the validation tool in SimpleBIM it is easy to perform multiple tasks with an (excel) template. With this you can check the validity of properties of components. For more information about the use of these templates see: http://www.datacubist.com/tutorials/ When a template is loaded with apply Template from the Editor, validation marks appear behind the elements. A red mark means that there is an issue with the validity. In the BCF manager these items can be shown with the button; Validate. From a list a selection can be made to create issues. This wil automatically add issues to the BCF manager, including linked objects, camera view, Title and Snapshot. 2015 KUBUS BV R2.2.1 15

Additional functionality for Navisworks Clash detective results and automatic issue generation Navisworks can perform tests on models with the clash detective. The BCF manager for Navisworks can convert the results from these tests into Issues. To achieve this click on the Open Clash report button. From a list a selection can be made to create issues. This wil automatically add issues to the BCF manager, including linked objects, camera view, Title and Snapshot. 2015 KUBUS BV R2.2.1 16
