Race regulation EXTREME LAGARES 2016 Presentation Extreme Clube Lagares will promote, in the 17th, 18th and 19th June of 2016, the 12 th edition of Extreme XL Lagares race, together with the Portuguese National Federation of Motorcyclist.
The race will be organized according the rules/lineup that are in this document, and all other important legal issues that may be approved by the main juris of the event organization. 1. Registrations Registrations online in www.extremelagares.com If you have any issue with the registrations process, please contact us at extremelagares@gmail.com The registrations are limited to 300 riders. Registrations until 14th de June, 2016. 2. Price Each rider = 100 3. Payment To pay for your registration, you must use the following bank information, and send us back the payment proof, with your name/class you are registered in. 4. Technical/documental verifications Technical verifications in 17th June, from 9 a.m to 15.30 p.m at the Event registration office at Avª dos Aliados Porto ( next to the parque fermé) 5. Class Only two class are in competition, Pro class and Expert Class. Also two amateur class, hobby class (single) and XL class (team of 2). All riders can register in these class. Riders from abroad (non Portuguese) that don t have official rider license must register in Hobby or XL class. Riders from abroad that have official rider license MUST present the Start Permission document from is national federation. 5.1- Pro Class a) This class is for one rider and one moto; b) Only pro riders or very good expert rider will be accepted in this class c) Must have official rider license or Start Permission (for riders from abroad) d) Only Enduro F.I.M. tires can equip the moto e) 2 laps in the main event (19 th ) to the complete course F) Complete course in prologue (17 th June) 5.2 Expert Class
a) This class is for one rider, and one moto; b) 95% of the track is PRO but just one lap to the course. c) Complete course in prologue (17 th June) d) Riders from abroad that have official rider license MUST present Start Permission document from his national federation. 5.3. XL Class a) This class is for teams of 2 riders and 2 motos; b) At the main event they do the complete course for one lap, but with some alternative tracks. c) Riders from abroad that have official rider license MUST present Start Permission document from his national federation. d) Alternative course in prologue (17 th June). 5.4 Hobby Class a) This class is for one rider and one moto; b) At the main event they do the complete course for one lap, but with some alternative tracks. c) Riders from abroad that have official rider license MUST present Start Permission document from his national federation. d) Alternative course in prologue (17 th June). 6. Moto Only enduro and motocross moto can register/race.
In case of doubt in the correct classification of the bike, the juri of the event will decide if it can race or not. Only enduro and motocross tires are allowed. It s not allowed to use trial tires. 7. The riders paddock will be next to the prologue area (300 meters) at Ribeira, in the Alfandega parking place. The moto must be in the parque fermé, at the center of the city (same place for the technical verifications) until the official start of the race. Adress: Avenida dos Aliados, city hall building. All the riders/class must do the prologue. The rider/team that exceeds the maximum time to complete the course, will be penalized with the time of the last rider, plus one minute. Immediately after the prologue is done, the moto must be parked in one boat that will transport all the bikes, up the river, to the start of day 2 (time trial+ night race). The security of the bike will be responsibility of the race organizers. The prologue winner is the rider that makes the best time. Prologue results DO NOT decide the start order in main event. To hobby and XL class, the podium is for the 3 fastest riders. One rider each minute in the course. For Expert class, one rider each minute. The 5 best times qualify to final race; 5 riders at the start line for final race. For Pro class, one rider each minute. The 10 best times qualify for semifinal, 5 riders at the start line. Two semifinals (5+5). Final race with the 5 best times. Start time for prologue: Hobby, XL from 17H00 to 20H00 (2 riders each minute)) Expert from 20H00 to 21H00 (1 rider each minute; plus final race between the 5 best
riders) PRO from 21H00 to 22H00 (1 rider each minute). Two semifinals, and final race. Podium ceremony IMPORTANT Pro class and Expert class must have extra lighting systems. Helmets lights or other solutions. Saturday Time trial (18th June) Paddock and start line are at this adress: Marina da Lixa - União Freguesias Foz do Sousa Covelo Cidade de Gondomar. All riders are allowed to do some mechanical services until 3 hours before the race starts (14h00). The course as 30 km in cross-country riding style. It connects the place where the bikes come from the boat, and the start of the night race. The time of the 30 km course will be added to the time of night race. Fastest time gets better position at main race (Sunday race). First rider starts at 14H00, in the following order: hobby-xl expert- pro At the end of the course is the paddock for night race Adress: Avª do Conhecimento, Cidade de Valongo. Night race (18 June) Start: 21H00
Four riders at the start, each minute, in the following order: hobby-xl expert- pro. Night race course with aprox. 20 km. All riders must be equipped with extra lighting systems. Helmets lights or other solutions. Also mandatory to have one extra (small size) light in the backpack. Sunday race, main event 8. Briefing at 10h30 All riders must be present at the briefing to talk about some important aspects of the race. Is located at the entrance of the parque fermé. 9. Start At 11h00, 4 riders at the start line, each minute. Best time in time trial race + night race start first (groups of 4). Pro and expert class first, hobby and XL together. 10. Course The race course as 20 km and 2 laps for pro class, and 1 lap for expert, hobby and XL. 11. No external help is allowed It is not allowed to help the riders overcoming obstacles. Only in special situations help is permitted. Riders can help between them.
12. Assistance zone/paddock There is only one area where the rider can be assisted by his team. Refueling is only allowed in assistance zone/paddock. 13. Time control During the course there are two points for time control. If the rider/team doesn t get that control in the stipulated time, it must take secondary track directly to the paddock (DNF). 6 hour time limit to complete the course (2 laps for Pro class). 14. Control card Each rider will have a Control Card that must be validated in every checkpoint. If the rider doesn t validate the Control Card in one CP it will be disqualified. The control card must be delivered to the organization team at the entrance of parque fermé in the end of the race. If not, it will be disqualified. 15. Time limit Time limit is 6 hours to complete the lap (s). After 6 hours, the riders that are still in the course, must take a secondary road directly to paddock. 16. Final results Final results are organized for each class considering the numbers of checkpoints that been accomplish in the shortest amount of time, or time limit.
17. Prize Prize money for the 5 best from Pro class (must finish in the time limit of 6 hours). Podium ceremony for expert, hobby and xl class. 18. Podium ceremony Podium ceremony will be at 18H00.
