Entering and showing dogs whose championships are unconfirmed is limited to 90 days from the date of the show where a dog completed the requirements for a championship according to the owner s records. If at the end of the 90-day period the championship of a dog has not been confirmed by the American Kennel Club, no further entries of the dog for Best of Breed competition are to be made until its championship has been confirmed by the AKC. 7

Awards of Merit The specialty judge may at his/her discretion award Judge s Awards of Merit to a maximum of 10% of the Best of Breed entry, plus Winners Dog and Winners Bitch, along with the Winners of the Veteran, Field Trial, and Hunting Classes. While the merits of the stud dog or brood bitch are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the stud dog or brood bitch must be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require disqualification or excusal under the Dog Show Rules, AKC policy or the standard for the breed. Brace Class For two dogs or bitches with one or more common owner. No fee is required as a unit. The dogs comprising the brace must be named at the time of the entry. If a dog that is to be part of a brace is not entered in another class, it must be entered for Brace Class only and will require a $25.00 fee. CLASSIFICATION FOR THE VIZSLA CLUB OF AMERICA JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP COMPETITION Novice. This shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who at the time entries close have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Open. This class shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show, and who have won three first place awards in a Novice Class in a licensed or member show, with competition present. Junior Handlers who win a third Novice Class with competition present after the closing of entries for a show may transfer their entry from the Novice Class to the Open Class provided that this transfer is made by the Superintendent or Show Secretary at least one-half hour prior to the scheduled start of Junior Showmanship judging at the show. TRANSFERS WILL BE ALLOWED AT THIS TRIAL PER AKC REGULATIONS. ARMBANDS FOR THIS TRIAL WILL BE ARRANGED IN DESCENDING JUMP HEIGHT ORDER, STARTING WITH THE HIGHEST JUMP HEIGHT NON-REGULAR OBEDIENCE TRIAL CLASSES QUALIFYING SCORES NOT REQUIRED FOR PRIZES IN NON-REGULAR OBEDIENCE CLASSES VETERAN ~ BRACE VETERAN CLASS. The Veteran class will be for Vizslas that have an AKC obedience title and are at least seven years old on the date of the trial. The exercises shall be performed and judged as in the Novice Class. Vizslas may be entered in another class or classes for which they are eligible. BRACE CLASS. The Brace Class will be two Vizslas that are eligible under these Regulations and capable of performing the Novice exercises. The dogs need not be owned by the same person but will be handled by one handler. Dogs may be shown unattached or coupled, the coupling device to be not less than six inches in overall length, and whichever method is used will be continued throughout all the exercises. A separate official entry form will be completed in full for each Vizsla entered. Exercises, performances and judging shall be as in the Novice Class. The brace should work in unison at all times. Either one or both dogs may be entered in another class or classes. RALLY TRIAL CLASSES (THIS TRIAL IS LIMITED TO 100 ENTRIES) * RALLY ENTRIES MUST INCLUDE DOG S JUMP HEIGHT* QUALIFYING SCORE REQUIRED FOR ALL PRIZES A Dark Green Qualifying Rosette will be awarded to each dog receiving a qualifying score. SPECIAL ATTRACTIONS PARADE OF TITLEHOLDERS The Parade of Titleholders is open to any Vizsla holding any AKC or VCA title. (The dog does not have to be entered in the regular classes to be in the Parade of Titleholders.) The entry blank must have Parade on it and include the $28.00 parade entry fee. Each dog s name and owner will be announced as it is presented. A separate Parade Section will be published in the show catalog, providing a permanent record of these dogs and their accomplishments. Therefore, all entrants are invited to submit a resume for their dogs along with their entries. See parade form within this publication for further details. THE RESUME MUST NOT EXCEED 100 WORDS. Those exceeding that length will be edited. The Parade Section will reference the armband number as listed in the regular portion of the catalog. The breeder s name, owner, sire and dam will be included in addition to the resume. There is no additional charge for this listing. RESCUE PARADE This special parade is intended to acknowledge these wonderful Vizslas that found their way through various means into a new and loving family. Often not much is known about the dog s background, but nonetheless we wish to honor them. Tell us about their journey to your home. The Rescue Parade is open to any Vizsla rescued into a new and loving home. The dog s name will be announced as it is presented. There is no charge for participating in the Rescue Parade. Each junior who enters will receive a personalized rosette, and have their name and city/state of residence read aloud to spectators while parading around the ring with their dog. There is no charge for participating in the Juniors Parade. A DNA number is required to enter all competitive events. This requirement does not apply to dogs only entered in the Parades. 16

NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS A recording fee of 50 for each dog and an AKC Event Service Fee of $3.00 will be required for each recordable single entry class at any Licensed or Member Club Show or Obedience Trial. (American Kennel Club Rule, Chapter 11, Section 2). An AKC recording fee of $3.50 1st entry and $3.00 additional entry of same dog will be required for each entry in Rally. (American Kennel Club Rally Regulation, Chapter 1, Section 3). These Fees are paid to the American Kennel Club. The Vizsla Club of America, Inc. assumes no responsibility for the owner or owner s agent entering a dog in a class in which it is not eligible to compete, or for entering the same dog twice. The club and its members assume no responsibility for wrong or incomplete information given on the entry blank by the owner or the owner s agent. Returned checks do not constitute a valid entry. The returned items must be made good by cash or money order before the dog will be allowed in the ring. No entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies a condition as to its acceptance. Owners are to have their dogs ready to go into the ring promptly, so judging will not be delayed. Dogs only need to be present for their own judging. Dogs not needed for further judging are excused. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to have his/her dog ready at ringside when the steward calls the class. Owners and/or their handlers are responsible for making sure their dog is present in the ring. This means it is not the responsibility of the ring steward, nor any agent, nor the show-giving club to locate any dog, its owner or handler. There is no American Kennel Club or club rule requiring a judge to wait for an owner or handler to enter the ring. Owners must familiarize themselves with the agreement of the American Kennel Club referred to on the reverse side of the entry blanks that accompany this premium list. The club and its officers or members will not be responsible for the loss of or damage to any dog exhibited, whether the result of accident or other causes. It is distinctly understood that every dog at this show is in the care, custody and control of its owner or handler during the entire time of the national events. The club, its officers or members will not assume any responsibility for any loss, damage or injury sustained by an exhibitor or agent. Entry fees shall not be refunded in the event a dog is absent, disqualified, sick, lame, excused by veterinarian or judge, barred from competition by action of the show committee, or because the dog is ineligible to compete due to being entered incorrectly. There is no entry fee refund for duplicate entry or for bitches in season (except for those entered in Obedience and Rally). Any exhibitor with a bitch entered in Obedience or Rally, which is in season on the trial date, will be refunded one-half of the obedience or rally entry fee paid. Written notification must be in the hands of the Show Secretary no later than one 1/2 hour before the start of the trial. The Vizsla Club of America, Inc. may decline any entries for cause and may refuse to receive or may remove any dog on account of disease, viciousness or other causes, and no one shall have any claim or recourse against the club or any official thereof. Entry fees will not be refunded if it is impossible to open or complete the show because of riots, civil disturbances, fires, extreme and or dangerous weather conditions, an act of God, public emergency, acts of a public enemy, or other acts or cause beyond the control of the club or the Show Secretary. Foreign exhibitors must submit entries with checks drawn on U.S. accounts or with international money orders in U.S. funds. The site will be available after 5 p.m. Monday, May 2. There is limited free crating space available. There will be no saving of spaces and no grooming in the crating rooms. If you would like to reserve crating space closer to the ring please use the Reserved Crating Flyer and mail payment to be received by April 1, 2016. All crates must be removed by 6:00 pm Saturday, May 7. There will be no overnight crating in these areas. 19

The Superintendent or Show Secretary is not able to cash checks. Returned checks/invalid credit/debit cards do not constitute a valid entry fee. Fees must be paid in guaranteed funds. The Superintendent will add a collection fee to the amount of each returned check & credit/debit card for completing the transaction and/or reprocessing the entries.
