GYN 46 5.0 01/2016-E HYSTEROMAT E.A.S.I. Endoscopic Automatic System for Irrigation
NEW Easy The HYSTEROMAT E.A.S.I. is an intelligent, pressure-controlled double roller pump that maintains a constant preset intrauterine pressure and simultaneous continuous flow. It thereby ensures good dilation of the uterine cavity with a clear view during hysteroscopic procedures at any time. Once the unit is switched on, the user can select the planned procedure from the procedure list: - Hysteroscopy - Resection - Laparoscopy - Shaver After the user has selected the procedure hysteroscopy or resection, a predefined selection list of KARL STORZ sheaths appears. The pressure and flow characteristics of the various sheaths are also stored in the HYSTEROMAT E.A.S.I. Once the intervention and the sheath are selected, the user must confirm the selected settings. Subsequently, a step-by-step guide shows how to correctly insert the tubing set. Depending on the situation, there is a possibility to manually adjust individual parameters for pressure and flow via touch screen at any time. The large touch screen allows easy reading of important parameters. The HYSTEROMAT E.A.S.I. also offers the possibility to individually define and store procedures so that the user can work with preferred settings at any time. Powerful The powerful double roller pump offers optimal power values for all preset modes (hysteroscopy, resection, shaver and laparoscopy). The HYSTEROMAT E.A.S.I. immediately and efficiently implements changes in pressure and flow values to enable a quick response to any situation. 2
Cost-efficient The continuous comparison of pressure and flow values enables optimal fluid use. Good viewing conditions allow the surgeon to work efficiently and thereby shorten surgery time. A permanent optimal view additionally increases safety during the procedure. Convenient The pressure and flow characteristics of the KARL STORZ hysteroscope and resectoscope sheaths have been stored as parameter sets in the HYSTEROMAT E.A.S.I.. This ensures that the characteristics of various sheaths are optimally taken into account and adapted to the respective procedure. Continuous monitoring of essential device functions ensures high patient safety. Intracavitary pressure is displayed during hysteroscopic procedures. Visual and acoustic messages inform the surgeon about the current status in case of deviations of flow and pressure parameters. The HYSTEROMAT E.A.S.I. offers the surgeon sufficient dilation of the uterus with continuous fluid exchange at all times. The result is optimal viewing conditions without a need for additional maneuvers at the inflow and outflow stopcocks of the hysteroscope, resectoscope or shaver. 3
Innovative Various modes guarantee convenient handling of the pump; these include the blood/mucus mode, in which flow and suction are increased to more rapidly remove particles (e.g. mucus) and restore a clear view. This mode simultaneously allows a temporary increase of the intracavitary pressure in order to stop or decrease bleedings. In the bipolar instrument mode, the intracavitary pressure is automatically kept constant when inserting 5 Fr. instruments despite the fact that the inflow channel decreases in diameter in some hysteroscopes. Both modes can be activated via touchscreen or a footswitch. Alternatively, the two roller pumps can be operated independently, such as in laparoscopic procedures. When using the Intrauterine BIGATTI Shaver (IBS ), suction is activated via a footswitch whereas the inflow and intrauterine pressure is automatically regulated by a pump. The idle mode of the HYSTEROMAT E.A.S.I. is another fully automatic additional function. This enables liquid consumption to be reduced to a minimum when changing instruments or removing tissue samples from the body. To ensure patient safety, the instrument mode is automatically deactivated on activation of the idle mode. Special features of the HYSTEROMAT E.A.S.I. Intuitive and easy use of the HYSTEROMAT E.A.S.I. thanks to step-by-step instructions for the proper positioning of the tubing set Specifications of the KARL STORZ hysteroscope sheaths with the respective parameters for various procedures stored in the device for easy and quick selection Optimal view at all times since the uterine cavity is sufficiently dilated and continuously rinsed Optimized safety when performing hysteroscopies thanks to the display of the intracavitary pressure and safety alerts in case of changes to preset parameters Interdisciplinary use of the HYSTEROMAT E.A.S.I. : suitable for diagnostic, office and operative hysteroscopy (with resectoscope or IBS shaver) as well as for laparoscopy in general 4
Use of the HYSTEROMAT E.A.S.I. Operation selection The following interventions can be selected via the touch screen: Hysteroscopy Resection Laparoscopy Shaver Procedure selection After selecting the type of hysteroscopic intervention, a list of all KARL STORZ hysteroscope and resectoscope sheaths appears. The user has two options: Use of preset procedures Configuration of new, customized procedures Starting the Procedure Once the desired procedure is selected, the stored parameters can be adjusted and the procedure can begin immediately 5
