Working together Charity corporate partnerships At YMCA we truly believe that corporate charity partnerships should be beneficial to everyone. We work closely with all our partners to build strong and positive programmes that business and staff will get real benefit from and that will support YMCA in our charitable aim. A partnership with YMCA will deliver new skills, allow staff to meet new interesting people and help some of the most vulnerable young people in our community. Raising your profile: A partnership with YMCA will deliver real and lasting opportunities that your organisation and YMCA can build upon to deliver business opportunities while also helping to change lives. Through the opportunities detailed below, a partnership with YMCA will do just that: Public Relations: Involvement with a charity can create some great PR and marketing opportunities. Every time your employees take part in fundraising activities, there is a story to be told. We can assist in the promotion of the Partnership through our local and national communication teams. As a prominent national charity, we have excellent links to local and national television and radio stations, together with national and regional media. Brand Association: By partnering with YMCA you are linking with the oldest and largest youth charity brand in the world. We have over 90% brand recall in the UK and we know how aligning with a powerful brand like YMCA with strong brand values will work to the benefit of yours. Cause Related Marketing: Cause related marketing (CRM) is a commercial activity where your business and YMCA form a formal partnership to market an image, product or service for our mutual benefit. It is a simple and extremely effective way of differentiating your product and services, and of increasing sales and customer loyalty. It can promote positive PR coverage and provide that increasingly important link for ethical consumers to align themselves with a charitable cause. By linking with YMCA companies can attach their product to a powerful brand that not only creates a point of interest, but which can open up new markets and attract new customers. Social media: As a charity with a long history and rich heritage, we know the importance of evolving over time. That s why we ve established ourselves at the forefront of social media campaigning.

We have an extensive social media reach, with passionate and engaged supporters who share our values. This makes YMCA an effective choice when it comes to raising your online profile, or adding a social media marketing element to an existing campaign. Getting Your Staff Involved Whether you choose to fundraise as a small team, a department or as an entire organisation, why not help young people in our community? YMCA will design a fantastic package to support your company s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme or charitable ambitions and engage your employees. YMCA s proven track record and expertise in working with a range of companies, large and small, means that we are the perfect partner to choose as your company s charity of the year. We can provide: Your staff can support our work in a number of exciting ways. Whether in a Charity of the Year partnership or on an ad hoc basis, a partnership with YMCA will have something for everyone. Here are the options: Fundraising: YMCA s corporate team are dedicated to putting on the best events possible and will support you every step of the way. With our expert support, companies regularly beat even the most ambitious fundraising targets. And not only that, they also have a great time doing it! We offer a huge range of opportunities to get involved in fundraising activities at a national level, including our national flag ship programme The Big Sleep Out to a wine tasting evening. We also provide a full range of community based fundraising activities and ideas of people to get involved in within their own local communities. See our ideas section on our website at www.theymca.org.uk/whatwedo/fundraisingandsupport and link to our community fundraising pack on our website. Teambuilding: Strong and effective teams are central to good business. We put together a range of corporate challenges that can only be achieved by working together. Our team building events build employee confidence, enhance team working skills and develop sales and marketing abilities, while also having a huge impact on the work that we do - supporting the UK's most vulnerable young people and their families. Volunteering: As a YMCA corporate fundraising partner your company would be able to get involved in our team volunteering days. These are fantastic opportunities for your employees to get directly involved in our work, helping us to care for vulnerable children in your local community.your employees can join our army of dedicated volunteers helping to deliver of operational strategy and also as part of our fundraising efforts. See our full range of volunteering opportunities on our website (link) Challenge events: Do you have energetic employees? They can join our running team in some of the UK s most iconic races. This includes guaranteed places at Marathons and other events.

YMCA offers participants sensational support with their training and fundraising. Why not support us by setting up a staff team to part in some of the many organized events across the UK, these could include cycle rides, marathons, skydives, dragon boat racing, or triathlons. Work place giving: Staff can give a donation to YMCA on a regular basis (usually monthly) through the payroll. This provides us with a consistent supply of funds, which is our lifeblood as YMCA helps young people over the long term. Tens of thousands of employees throughout the UK regularly donate to YMCA through their pay. Please contact us to help set up payroll giving in your organisation. Event sponsorship and corporate hospitality: We plan events throughout the year, with opportunities for companies to get involved through sponsorship and brand awareness. See a full range of sponsorship opportunities on our website Matched Funding: Many companies can support their employee's fundraising by matching the money that they raise. This is a fantastic way of motivating your staff by showing your support for their fundraising efforts, as well as raising your profile. Make a Lasting Difference Your company can make a difference by supporting the direct work that we do with Young People. We recognise that companies and their employees want to see where their support goes, and so we make every effort to provide in plain view for any money you raised. Support a local service: Wherever there are vulnerable young people, YMCA will be there. No matter where your company s branches or sites are located, it is very likely that a YMCA service will be nearby. Some of our corporate supporters choose to support a specific service near them - providing funds, volunteering time and gifts in kind which will directly benefit the Young People and their families in the local community. See a list of the projects you may wish to consider supporting Fund something new: We continually find new ways to support young people in crisis within our community, from opening new services which address emerging issues to campaigning and lobbying opportunities. Our corporate partners therefore have the chance to financially support specific new activities or direct services with Young People which require voluntary funding, in the key areas of need that we have identified.

Plan your Support Account management: We will allocate a dedicated Account Manager to work with you to put together a plan of activities, including fundraising, events sponsorship and challenges together that you and your staff can follow to ensure that you raise the biggest amount possible while having as much fun as you can. Regular feedback and reporting: We will feedback to you in an agreed format and frequency on how your generous support is allocated and where any money you have donated is spent. We always like to show the lasting social benefit that our corporate partners are making to the lives of young people, their families and the community at large and we will always include evidence of the social return your help is delivering. You can choose to be included on our website, Facebook and Twitter or all three as a key partner so you can let everyone know the incredible support you are giving young people in our community!much fun as you can. Planning your activities: From the outset of our partnership together your Account Manager will work with you and your staff to put together a comprehensive and exciting programme of fundraising activities, challenges, sponsorship opportunities, volunteer programmes and service support options that you may wish to consider. To get you started we have included a planning template at the back of this document. If you need help with a few ideas please visit our website at www.theymca.org.uk where you will find an A to Z list of ideas. Thank you for your support for the YMCA Cambridgeshire and Peterborough and thank you for all the amazing things we will achieve together in transforming lives and building better futures.
