SEARCH COMMITTEE INFORMATION In Fall 2014, the Board of Trustees appointed the Search Committee comprised of faculty and trustees to lead the search for our next Head of School. This committee brings to the process a deep understanding of San Francisco Day School, its history, and its mission. If you d like to reach the committee, please email: headsearch@sfds.net. SEARCH COMMITTEE MEMBERS Cathy Aragon Second Grade Teacher Cathy Aragon is a second grade lead teacher at San Francisco Day School. This is her fourth year at the school. Before joining the Day School faculty, she taught at public school at Leonard R. Flynn School in the city. Prior to that she received her multiple subject credential from the Bay Area Teacher Training Institute (BATTI) and worked as an Associate Teacher at Live Oak School. She received her undergraduate degree at Harvard, where she first got the teaching bug through her volunteer work in high school classrooms in Charlestown, MA. Teaching at SFDS truly is her dream job. On a personal note, she is a native of the Bay Area and has made San Francisco her home for the past thirteen years. Sue Collentine Lower School Head and alumni parent Sue has been the Head of Lower School at SFDS since 2006. Prior to assuming the administrative role, Sue taught fourth grade for five years, fifth grade for three years, and English at SFDS for nine years. She also led the associate teacher program for the same nine years. Before coming to SFDS, Sue taught at St. Paul s

School in Oakland, in Los Angeles Unified School District, and in many rural schools in New Hampshire. Sue earned a B.A. in communications/journalism and a minor in sociology from California State University at Chico and credentials from the University of New Hampshire. Reed Colley Trustee Reed Colley is a Senior Vice President of Advent Software in San Francisco, where he focuses on corporate strategy and acquisitions. Reed has been in financial services software for over 14 years. Reed and his wife, Katie Colley, are founders and trustees of Do Something Great Today Foundation, which is focusing on creating technology to enable donors to give of their time and resources more effectively to the charities of their choice. Reed graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1998 with degrees in Economics and Engineering Science. Reed and Katie have four children, two of whom are currently attending SFDS. Sandy Dean Trustee Sandy Dean is with Sansome Partners LLC, which makes a variety of public and private investments. He also serves as chairman of Mendocino and Humboldt Redwood Company. Sandy is in his sixth year serving on the Day School Board of Trustees, and has also served on a number of other not-for-profit boards. Sandy holds a B.S.E. from Duke University and an M.B.A. from the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University. Sandy and his wife Cathy have children at SFDS in grades five, six, and eight. Humberto Bert Galleno Trustee Bert is the founder of Gravity Capital Group, a corporate development and strategic planning services firm working with early stage and mature companies. Bert is also currently a trustee of the Reading Partners Bay Area Regional Board and previously served as the President of the Board of the Bay Area Discovery Museum. At San Francisco Day School, Bert is a member of and has chaired the Parent Group on Diversity. He has also been an officer of the Parents Association serving as the Diversity Chair. He currently chairs the Board committee on communications and is a member of the Executive Committee. Bert and his wife Lareina have two sons in first and fifth grade at San Francisco Day School.

Dawn Hartman Current President, SFDS Parents Association Dawn has been an active member of the SFDS community since her daughter started kindergarten in 2010, co-chairing the Admission Committee from 2011-2012 and serving as Vice President in 2012. Dawn has participated in several SFDS Parent Groups (Diversity and Education), while also serving as a leader of the Adoptive Families Group. She holds a B.A. in history from UCLA (magna cum laude) and continued her studies in the Stanford University graduate program, focusing on United States history. Dawn s daughter is currently attending third grade at SFDS. Ken McNeely Trustee Ken McNeely is President of AT&T California, the largest domestic market for AT&T Inc. As such, he leads AT&T s workforce in the state of more than 35,000 employees. Ken has served as a room parent, admissions volunteer, member of the Parent Group on Diversity and Annual Fund volunteer. He is also a trustee at The Little School and Bay Area Council, where he chairs the education committee. He earned his B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his J.D. from Howard University School of Law. Ken and his partner Inder have two children attending first grade and third grade at SFDS. Meagan Nye Director, Associate Teacher Program and current parent Meagan has worked at SFDS since 1994, first as a teacher and now as the Director of the Associate Teacher Program. She has two daughters currently attending San Francisco Day School in the sixth grade. Meagan is also on the board of Summer Search San Francisco. She has a B.A. from Hamilton College and a Masters in Education from Mills College. Su-Moon Paik Former Board President Su-Moon is a business consultant with a private practice based in San Francisco. She is a past President of the SF Day School Board and a current board member of Lick-Wilmerding High School. She also serves on the board of the Boys & Girls Clubs of SF where she is the chair of the Board Governance Committee. Her education background includes a B.A. from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A from Stanford University. Su-Moon is an alumni parent and has an eighth grader currently attending San Francisco Day School.

Laura Spivy Current Board Co-President Laura received her M.B.A from Stanford University and an Economics/East Asian Studies B.A. from Wesleyan University. Laura has a diverse business background with experience in corporate finance, private equity investing, and general business management and operations. Laura chaired the finance committee prior to becoming co-president of the SFDS board of trustees. She also serves on the board of trustees of Gateway Public Schools. Laura and her husband Greg have four children at San Francisco Day School. Grace Won Chair, Search Committee Grace has been a business litigation partner with Farella, Braun + Martel LLP since 2002 and has served as the firm's hiring partner and pro bono chair. Grace serves on the Board of Directors for Children Now, a non-partisan children's advocacy group, and was formerly a member of its Executive Committee. She is serving in her third year as a trustee at SFDS, and previously served as President of the Cow Hollow School Board. Grace holds a B.A. cum laude in American History from Harvard University and an M.A. in Anglo-American Literature from University College London. She received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. Grace and her husband Richard Holden have children in second and fourth grades at SFDS. Molly Wood Trustee Molly is an educator with deep experience in San Francisco and nationally. She began her teaching career at Benjamin Franklin Middle School in San Francisco, was a founding teacher at the Academy of the Pacific Rim in Boston, and went on to found KIPP Bayview Academy, a college preparatory charter school in San Francisco s Bayview-Hunters Point community. She served as principal at KIPP Bayview for six years, and continues to be involved in the school and KIPP Bay Area Schools. She has also worked with Partners in School Innovation and Teach for America, Uncommon Schools/Teach Like a Champion, and is currently a consultant to education and nonprofit organizations. Molly has a B.A., an M.A. in education, and an M.B.A. from Stanford University. She and her partner, Dagny, have a son in preschool and boy-girl twins.

Joel Young Upper School History Teacher and alumni parent Joel has been a teacher at SFDS for the past 26 years. During that time he has been Interim Upper School head, Social Studies Curriculum Coordinator, and served on committees that helped create, among several school programs, the school's advisory program, served on two strategic plan initiatives, and early revisions of the schools mission and philosophy statements. Joel also served as Dean of Faculty for Breakthrough for two years in the mid-1990's. Joel has seen over 1100 students graduate from the Day School including his own: Andrew '00 and Hallie '05. His educational background includes a B.A. from the University of California at Santa Barbara (History); University of California at Santa Cruz (Visual Arts); and an M.F.A. (Painting) from Columbia University.
