Fairtrade is an increasingly popular choice in Plymouth and it clearly supports the spirit of co-operative working and fairness that has developed in over the years. Fairtrade is an international standard that ensures farmers, producers and communities in the Developing World are paid a fair price for their goods. Across the world, Fairtrade helps provide equitable conditions for the farmers and their families, health care, education, maternity care, clean water and, most importantly, the opportunity to reinvest in the land and its development. The Fairtrade Foundation has awarded certification to over 3,000 products in the UK. Most people know that Fairtrade bananas and coffee are widely available, but look carefully when you re on your weekly shop. You ll find the FAIRTRADE mark on many of the things around you including roses, sporting equipment and even clothing. And we d like there to be even more choice for residents and visitors to. HOW CAN YOU BE INVOLVED? Everyone can be involved in Fairtrade. We need your help! Look for the Fairtrade Mark when you are out shopping, buying locally you can support the producers and growers across the world. Why not become a Fairtrade Employer?
