Welcome drink and healthy snack and gathering at Villa Alma. Getting to know each other and introduction to the retreat sessions. Mornings: yoga classes, breakfast, free time. Lunch. Afternoons: free time to rest or explore, yoga classes, free time. Early morning departure from island of Vis to the Split port. Teacher: Jack Farras Jack Farras is an Australian yoga instructor, born in Croatia, with years of experience in Asia and Australia. After a long history in competitive sport, fitness and nutrition, Jack found his yogic path in 2004 teaching in Melbourne. In 2007 he completed a 500 yoga teacher training, and already in 2008 opened his first Vinyasa/Hot Yoga and dance studio in Bali Indonesia, today s Yoga capital of the world. Loving island life, Jack has opened Yoga Republic studio in Phuket 3 years ago, which offers his unique Fusion Flow; Hot Yang and Chill Yoga. His classes are passionate, energetic and fun. Jack will daily bring us through two yoga classes in the mornings and before sunset. One Inversion and arm balance workshop will spice it all half way into the retreat. 3
YOGA FOR ALL Our yoga classes suit all yoga levels from beginners to advanced. Morning yoga classes are active yoga while evening classes are more on restorative yoga. Depending on the weather yoga classes will be held in the open space; or inside the yoga classroom. All participants fill out special questionnaires so the teacher gets awareness of the yoga experience as well as the health conditions of the group. We provide yoga mats, blankets and other equipment for the yoga classes. Our teacher Jack will be there to answer all your questions at any time. Accommodation Our accommodation is in the authentic stone villas in Komiza pedestrian zone in the single or double rooms. The villas are only 100 meters from the seafront and the city centre, and 300 meters to the yoga classroom. Villas Villas are booked for the retreat guests only. All rooms have air con; and free Wi-Fi available. All the villas have equipped kitchen and outdoor common area for the sole use of retreat guests in the villa. VILLA MARIS Villa Maris is situated in the very centre of Komiza pedestrian zone, only 100 meters from the seafront and cafes and restaurants. Common areas are shaded terrace, kitchen with fireplace. VILLA ANNA Villa Anna is only 40 meters away from Villa Alma, and almost overlooking the Lucica beach as well. In the quiet shared garden, you will be able to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. There is fully equipped kitchen in the villa as well. Villa Anna was renovated in 2013 preserving all authentic details in the house. It is situated only 50 meters from the restaurants, cafés, and vibrant part of the town. You will have Mediterranean dishes, including seafood, fish, vegetables, salads, and some wine as well. Vegetarians will be happy with us too. We use the cold pressed extra virgin olive oil from Vis which is famous for its quality and which is grown in the local olive groves. We only use domestic vegetables grown in small gardens on the island of Vis and in the Dalmatian area. All the cheese is also domestic. After you confirm your booking at our retreat we will send you a questionnaire about the type of food that you prefer. 12
Location The island of Vis is a small Croatian island in the Adriatic Sea. The farthest inhabited island off the Croatian mainland, with only 3,460 inhabitants on the 90.26 square kilometres. It is 60 km away from the Split airport, reachable by ferry (http://www.jadrolinija.hr/en/ferry-croatia); speedboat (http://www.krilo.hr/images/sailing_schedule_vis.pdf) and watertaxi from Split, 3 times per day in May, September and October. The island is known for the unspoilt nature due to its isolation as a military base till 1990-ies. Crystal clear sea, beaches, caves and cliffs, as well as is green agricultural inland. The island of Vis was inhabited by Greeks and Romans many centuries ago. The Venetian influence is seen on its architecture. Komiza is the second largest town on the island, vibrant fishermen village on the SW end of the island, today one of the most frequented nautical spots in Croatia. Komiza is a cultural and gastronomic centre with pristine beaches in the very city centre and a breath-taking landscape. Blue cave, island of Bisevo Our villas are only few steps away from the boats that will take us to the neighbouring island of Bisevo and its famous Blue cave. We will visit inside of the cave in the smaller boat and proceed to explore the island. Refreshments and lunch will be served at the organic family vineyard on the island of Bisevo. Option there is to walk to the sandy Porat beach and have a swim there. 14
Boat trip around the island of Vis We will spend few hours admiring beauty of the nature around the island of Vis with the local captain and guide. Exploring its bays, caves and tasting freshly prepared local fish dish onboard. We will stop for swim as well. The refreshments and lunch will be served onboard.
