RESIDENCE: STATE RESIDENT QUALIFIERS: Each competitor may claim residence in only one state and must declare the state of residence on the entry form. Residents are eligible for the 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd place USA Shooting State Champion medallions. Residency is defined as to where the competitor holds a current and valid driver s license. If the competitor does not have a drivers license, residency is then defined as to where the competitor s parents/guardians reside. Non-residents are not eligible for state awards. Non-residents may compete for invitations to the National Championship and are encouraged to do so. Only U.S. Citizens will be eligible for medals at both the state JOSC and the NJOSC. USA Shooting will issue official invitations to the 2016 National Junior Olympic Shooting Championships (NJOSC) for the high scoring male and high scoring female resident from each State JOSC, provided they fire a minimum qualifying score. Resident collegiate and/or military competitors are eligible for the state resident champion awards and are also eligible for resident state qualifier invitations. Page 1
ENTRY: Only scores from a registered State Junior Olympic match will count for invitation to the National Junior Olympic Championships. Shooters may not compete in more than one state JOSC. Juniors who fire in their own home state JOSC will not be allowed to shoot in another state. Juniors from states which are not holding a state JOSC, and those who cannot attend their own state JOSC, will be allowed to enter as a non-resident in another state. Non-residents should declare their home state at entry and are not eligible for state resident awards. Residency is defined as to where the competitor holds a current and valid driver s license. Note: Women will be allowed to fire 60 shots for collegiate coach notification, but only the first 40 shots will be reported for State JOSC qualification TARGETS: TIME LIMIT: EQUIPMENT: SIGHTS: COACHING: SCORING PROTESTS: ORION-5/10 Targets will be used Electronically Scored Men 1hour & 30 Minutes (90 minutes) Women 60 Minutes (90 min if firing 60 shots) Eye protection is recommended on the EHS range. Eye protection mandatory at ZIA. All Rifles and other equipment must conform to the USA Shooting Rifle Rules, except as noted above. Provided by USA Shooting USA Shooting will provide a gold medallion for the top resident individual, silver medallion for the 2nd place resident individual and a bronze medallion for the 3rd place resident individual. Entries will be accepted to range capacity. Relays not reserved or requested by Dec 7, 2015 will be cancelled. Every effort will be made to accept all competitors who enter before the closing date. SCHEDULE OF EVENTS: Lanes will be assigned by lottery/draw at check in. Multiple relays will be fired to accommodate all pre-entered competitors. Competitors checking in after the designated relay time are late competitors and may be accommodated in a later relay up to range capacity. The entry fee will not be refunded if there are no later lanes available for late competitors. DIRECTIONS TO RANGES: Each relay will consist of: - A safety & match procedures review will be held - A 30 minute period will be given to hang 2 targets and competitors to bring equipment to the line and setup. All rifles must be brought to the line in a case. When removed from the case the rifle will be made safe, and an Clear Barrel Indicator (CBI) is to be inserted. CBI s are mandatory - A 15 minute preparation/sighting period will be given - The 1 hour- 30 minute firing stage. (60 minutes for Women) There are 3 stages of 30 minutes each for each 2 target set. At stages 2&3 sighters are included in the firing time. At the end of their firing stage or stepping away from their rifle, the competitor must make their rifle safe and insert their CBI. - After all competitors have completed firing, a 10 minute equipment teardown period will be given. (Map can be found at http://www.ziarifleandpistolclub.com/zialocationmap.htm) RANGE ACCESS: ZIA R&P is a private range. You must be a member of the club to get thru the access gate by yourself. Non-members must be escorted at all times. At one hour before each Relay Start Time (above), a club member will arrive at the gate to unlock and escort the competitors to the range house. The access gate will only be attended at that time. It is the responsibility of the competitor to be at the club gate AT LEAST one hour before the Relay Start Time to meet the escort. Competitors arriving late and not checking in by the Relay Start Time will be deemed Late Competitors. There is no food or water at Zia, so make sure you bring some food and plenty of water. Page 4

Automatic invitations are issued to all who fire above the minimum automatic invite score. One male and one female State Qualifier will be invited per state provided they fire above the minimum required State Qualifier score. Remaining at-large competitors will be ranked by age category and score and invited up to range capacity.
