This is a customized Kaspersky Endpoint Security version 10.2.1.23 provided by Kaspersky for CUHK. It contains a fix for better compatibility with Windows 8, 8.1 L2TP/IPsec VPN setting. 2. This installation package will NOT check and uninstall any 3 rd party software incompatible with Kaspersky. However, it could turn off the Windows Defender of Windows 8/8.1 automatically. Please manually uninstall any 3 rd party antivirus software and internet security software before starting the installation. 3 Install Kaspersky Endpoint Security 1. Double click the installation file CUHK_KES10MR1_AV_bypass_ uninstall.exe. that you just downloaded. For Windows 7, Windows 8.0, please skip step 2 to step 4 and start from step 5. For Windows 8.1, please start from step 2. 2. Click Run to start installation. 3. Click More info to show more options. 4. Click Run anyway. 5. Click Yes. 6. Click Start installation to install. Page 2 of 7
7. Click Close and restart the computer to complete installation. 8. Open Kaspersky Endpoint Security software. Double click Kaspersky icon on the right hand corner of Desktop. You may need to press arrow icon to show hidden icons Then click No key. 9. Select Active the application under a new license. Page 3 of 7
10. Select Active with a key file. Click Next 11. Click Browse and select the Key file from your local computer (i.e.c:\temp\419cf78c.key) Click Next. 12. Select the Key file from your local computer(i.e.c:\temp\419cf78c.key ) Click Open. Page 4 of 7
13. Click Finish. 14. Click Close. 4 Load Configuration File 1. Open the Kaspersky Endpoint Security software. Double click Kaspersky icon on the right hand corner of Desktop. You may need to press arrow icon to show hidden icons. Page 5 of 7
2. Select Settings > Advanced Settings. Click Load. 3. Select the configuration file KES10_2_config.cfg (i.e. C:\temp\KES10_2_config.cfg). Click Open. * If the file has not been downloaded, please go back to step 2. 4. Wait until the Save button is enabled. Then click Save. Page 6 of 7
5. If it prompts a warning window, click Yes to continue 6. Then, shut down and restart the computer 7. Important notes for CUHK LAN administrator: 5.1 This package do NOT include the components that are incompatible with McAfee Endpoint Security solution. They are: Intrusion Prevention (Firewall, Application Privilege Control) Application Startup Control Device Control Web Control Encryption of hard drives File Encryption 5.2 This package will not uninstall McAfee Agent during the installation.
