Blackboard Collaborate Elluminate Publish Video Conversion Blackboard 9.1 STAFF GUIDE
Introduction This guide will show you how to download Blackboard Collaborate (Elluminate) Publish software. Publish will enable you to convert previously recorded sessions into a usable video format. Downloading Elluminate Publish Link to Blackboard Collaborate Publish Download http://www.elluminate.com/other/elearning_publish!/?id=357 Enter the Blackboard Collaborate Publish web page, from the list of download options select the appropriate version for your system (in most cases this will be Download for Windows (32-bit) ). 1
If the following dialogue box appears click Save File to begin the file download process. File Download may take a couple of minutes. When the download is complete move your cursor over the file and right click the mouse button to reveal a drop-down menu. From the dropdown menu choose Open to open the Publish Setup Wizard. Follow the wizard instructions to install Blackboard Collaborate Publish. 2
Click Next On reading the agreement click to accept, followed by the Next button. 3
To choose a location for Publish to be installed, click Browse to see your folder options then click Next to continue. Choose to install ffmpeg and click Next to continue. 4
Continue with default location or choose another location of your preference the click Next. Additional Tasks click the option(s) you wish to perform, recommend creating a desktop shortcut before clicking Next. 5
Note: At this point it s worth taking a note of the directory location where Publish will be placed on your computer for future reference, then click Next to start the Installation. Installing. May take a couple of minutes to complete. 6
On completing the installation click Finish to exit. To run Publish on completion place a tick in the box next to Run Elluminate Publish! The following Publish window will open. 7
How to download Blackboard Collaborate JNLP File Download Blackboard Collaborate JAR File You need to supply Publish the JNLP file you wish to convert. This section discusses how to gain access to.jnlp files in Publish. Important This guide is based on using Mozilla Firefox to download the JNLP file. Turn Editing Mode On Navigate to your Collaborate Area where the sessions are stored and created 8
Select Tools Blackboard Collaborate Select Previously Recorded 9

This will give you access to the Blackboard Collaborate Sessions that have been recorded Select the session that you wish to download by selecting the title. 11
Select the Save File Option The file will now be saved in the Downloads Folder. To navigate to the Downloads folder, go to the Desktop, Select Start Start 12
Open Your Personal Folder Open Downloads Folder The JNLP file will be located. 13
Using Elluminate Publish to create Video File. Select Browse Navigate to where your JNLP file is saved Select the file Recommended Settings Select AVI as the Format Untick Chat Transcript Select Convert 14
This will give you the option to where you would like to save the files. Select your location and click on Convert Your file will now start to convert. 15
Once the files have been converted you will see them in the location specified 16
