A simple rig of spreader beam with three drop chains with hooks can be attached in a few seconds making it a truly portable system. They can also be placed on a trailer and transported between fields. Drop them down, disconnect the hooks and they are ready to rear. This design makes for much quicker checking of birds with all the doors in a line. Its saves a lot of field space, meaning you can rent less or rotate more often. Checking, feeding and bedding is simple, and because the brooder and shelters are only 3.7m deep all aspects can be seen from outside, through the four foot wide door. Shutting birds away is also much easier. The runs can be accessed through the night shelter, which has doors front and back. With the first pen section in each run having a gate, its much quicker to walk between them, and with a 1000 birds in each run, shutting away 10,000 poults takes five minutes.
