Parental support is a key element in ensuring compliance of the uniform code by all students. We ask that you review our dress code policy with your child and help your child to assess his/her daily clothing choices to ensure that the school dress code requirements are met. In addition, we request that uniform items be purchased from our outfitter to assure adherence to the school uniform policy. School Uniform Non-Compliance Procedures Grades K-3: Students will be reviewed each morning for adherence to the dress code. When a student breaks the uniform code, a note will be sent home. The second time the child does not meet the dress requirements a personal parental contact will be made. Grades 4-8: The first time a student breaks the uniform code a note will be sent home. The second time the dress code is not adhered to, the student will need to be picked up by his/her parent and will only be allowed to return when the school dress code requirements are met. Friday is Free Day Gym Days Sneakers: Grades K-5: Grades 6-8: Shirts Turtlenecks K-5 only (Girls K-8) Shorts (Girls K-8) Assembly Dress Jackets Please keep in mind Children may wear clothing of their choice. Children may not wear jeans of any color, T-shirts, sneakers, or sweat suits. Collared shirts are still required. Students are required to bring in a pair of sneakers to store in school for use in gym class. Students in grades 2-8 must have laced up sneakers. Girls must wear a pair of shorts under their skirt or jumper during gym class. Boys remain in uniform for gym. Students will be able to change into Laurel Hill gym uniform. (Students will not be able to participate in gym education without a proper uniform). Button-down shirts must be worn with a tie. Knit Tennis shirts and turtlenecks are only to be worn in combination with school sweater or during the winter months of December through March. only only Blazers must be worn for assemblies by both boys and girls. Outer jackets may not be worn in class including LHS sports jacket. Only black or brown leather shoes or suede bucks are allowed. Boys shoes must have laces. Students may not wear sneakers or sneaker look-alikes or sandals. Heels should not be thick or higher than one inch.
