1.1 PACKAGING To transport the BRP gun, the unit is packaged in a cardboard box. A optiona components are paced with the gun inside the same box. When transporting and storing the machine make sure the surrounding temperature remains between -15 and 40 C (5 F and 104 F). If transportation or storage operations ast 24 hours or ess do not exceed 50 C (122 F) otherwise the unit coud be damaged. If the need arises to store the machine, make sure the humidity vaues in the storage area remain between 30 and 80%. 2.1 IDENTIFICATION DATA The manufacturer identification and CE RULING n 89/392 conformity is paced on a side of the gun (as shown beow). 2.2 MACHINE DESCRIPTION The ow pressure BRP gun is used to spray paints. It is possibe to obtain smooth and even arge-size surfaces with this gun thanks to its micro-spraying system. The spray gun has a threaded connection which is to be connected to the paint inet hose. It is aso possibe to adjust the inet air fow and the paint output. The spray gun used with a paint hose aows a ong painting autonomy; it is aso possibe to connect the spray gun to a common compressor with reduced working pressure. BRP ASTURO spray guns are avaiabe both in standard and HVLP versions and with stainess stee paint hose to be used with corrosive products (Code 183XXI). It is possibe to adjust the painting fan to obtain high quaity finishing. The drawing beow indicates the most important features of the gun. 2.3 TECHNICAL FEATURES The painting spray gun must be used with a compressor of 5 bar (71 psi) at east. Its design improves the distribution of the air suppied from the interna hoes aso at very ow working pressures. 2.5 PAINTS, FLUIDS AND OTHER PRODUCTS The BRP spray guns are designed for painting on iron, wood and pastic materia. The materias which can be used in this spray gun are: monocomponent varnishes and enames, iquid inks, doube coated meta stains, paste coors, heavy acquers and monocomponents, bicomponent inks and water-based paints in genera. The manufacturer must authorize the use of the spray gun with other products and the unit technica features might be changed in order to function propery with the new materias. ASTURO ORIGINALI MAVES Spa is reieved of a responsibiity in case of accidents resuting from the use of the spray gun by unauthorized and unquaified personne or by personne using the equipment differenty than intended. DO NOT USE THE PAINTING SYSTEM WITH FLAMMABLE OR HIGHLY TOXIC PRODUCTS SUCH AS GASOLINE, HERBICIDE AND PESTICIDE 2.6 DIMENSIONS The spray gun has the foowing dimensions: BRP AOM Page 9 of 13
3.1 INSPECTION OF PURCHASED PRODUCT Inspect the spray gun before its use to check for damages caused by transportation or improper storage. Make sure that a standard and optiona components have been deivered. 3.2 INSTALLATION CONDITIONS It is advisabe to use dry compressed air to obtain the best painting resuts. To mount the hoses proceed as foows (use the drawing beow): (1) (2) + Connect the air inet hose (RED hose) to the spray gun 1/4 nippe (A). The compressed air must come from a norma compressor with an operating pressure of 4 bar (60 psi). + Connect the paint inet hose to the spray gun connection (3). + Seect the most appropriate nozze. (B) (3) BRP AOM WARNING Before you start using the equipment, make sure the connections and hoses are in perfect working conditions, that is without hoes, bends or spits. 3.3 HOW TO USE THE SPRAY GUN (4) (A) + Adjust the fan with the reguator knob (1) (if the knob is opened the fan becomes wider, if the knob is cosed the fan gets narrower). + Adjust the fan position by rotating the air cap (B). + Graduay open the fuid passage by turning the fuid reguator knob (2) unti the desired quantity is obtained. 3.4 EQUIPMENT AND CONDITIONS NEEDED TO WORK Painting operations MUST be carried out in an appropriate spray booth equipped with a fitering system. Do not use the spray gun if the fitering system is not activated. Aways wear protection goves, gogges, breathing fiters with active carbon and adequate cothing for the protection of the entire body. 3.5 SAFETY PROCEDURES DURING USE TO USE the painting unit STRICTLY OBSERVE the foowing precautions and safety criteria. ASTURO ORIGINALI MAVES Spa decines every responsibiity whatsoever in case the user does not observe said precautions and safety criteria; furthermore, it is not responsibe for any kind of negigence when using the equipment. WARNING Aways wear protective goves, masks, breathing fiters with activated carbon and adequate cothing for the protection of the entire body when using the spray gun. The spray gun is empoyed with paints and thinners which are highy infammabe, therefore, use the spray gun in we ventiated areas and avoid any action which might start a fire (eg. smoking, high temperature sags or shavings, sparks or eectric eements). CHECK the chemica compatibiity of the products on their technica safety charts. Further information on the materias which make up the spray gun are avaiabe, on request, at ASTURO ORIGINALI MAVES Spa. The use of products which contain organic sovents might cause intoxication because of the created toxic vapours. DO NOT USE the unit with food or medicines. DO NOT EXCEED the indicated maximum working pressure (see section 2.3). BEFORE starting on any dismanting, ceaning, maintenance or assemby operation DISCHARGE the pressure in the hoses (see section 4.1). Never aim the spray gun at anything other than the surface you intend to spray. IMPORTANT DO NOT USE the unit with HALOGENATED HYDROCARBON thinners (eg. Ethychoride, Trichoride, etc.) which might expode when in contact with auminum or gavanized parts. Page 11 of 13
4.1 PRESSURE DISCHARGE PROCEDURES When the spray gun is stopped to carry out maintenance operations or at the end of the work session the operator must discharge the remaining pressure. WARNING THE PRODUCT IN THE FLEXIBLE HOSE IS STILL UNDER PRESSURE. PROCEED AS FOLLOWS: 1) Shut off the spray gun air suppy. 2) Take a meta bucket and by pressing the spray gun against its side discharge the residue product by pressing the trigger. 3) Cean as described in the foowing paragraph. 4.2 ROUTINE MAINTENANCE The routine maintenance of the BRP spray gun is simpe and does not require specia operations because its components do not need to be ubricated. Cean the spray gun daiy or at the end of each working session so that product residue wi not dry out on its was, thus guaranteeing ong term efficiency. CLEANING OPERATIONS: Shoud the spray gun be connected to ASTURO K24 pumps, see par. 5.4 in the K24 use and maintenance manua. Shoud the spray gun be connected to a different equipment, see the reevant manua. Unscrew the cap ring and with the given wrench disassembe the nozze. Pace everything in the thinner. Cean the head of the spray gun, the neede and the nozze with the given brush. Assembe the spray gun, ubricate the threaded parts with a thin ayer of oi and screw it tighty. DO NOT USE POINTED METAL OBJECTS TO CLEAN CLOGGED PASSAGE HOLES. THESE OPERATIONS WOULD DAMAGE THEM, REDUCING THEIR SPRAYING QUALITY. Wash the paint cup with thinner. In case industria washers are used to cean the spray gun, cose the fow reguator knob and the neede adjustment knob tighty by turning them cockwise in order to avoid thinner infitrations which might, in time, damage the packings. Once in a whie, ubricate the threaded parts such as the air cap and the neede stroke adjustment knob with a thin ayer of synthetic oi, in order to avoid seizing up caused by the effect of thinners on the spray gun components. WARRANTY A ASTURO ORIGINALI MAVES Spa appiances are guaranteed for a period of 12 months from the date written on the invoice, uness otherwise stated in writing. The warranty covers a manufacturing fauts and materia defect. Repacements and repair operations are covered ony if carried out by our company and at our servicing shops. The fauty parts must be sent FREIGHT FREE. Once the components have been repaired they wi be sent FREIGHT PAID to the customer. The warranty does not cover our company personne aid during instaation or dismanting operations. If for practica purposes one of our empoyee is sent to the premises, a charge wi be made for the time pus extra for traveing and expenses. Our warranty does not cover direct or indirect damage, to peope or property, caused by our appiances and it does not cover repair operations carried out by the owner or by a third party. The foowing are not covered by our warranty: + faiure caused by incorrect use or assemby. + faiure caused by externa agents. + faiure caused by ack of maintenance or negigence. WARRANTY FORFEITURE: If the form attached beow is not competed and returned. In case of deayed payment or other contract defauts. A repair operations carried out under warranty do not interrupt its duration.
