end of Mass; or arrange lay presentations by the 3 rd weekend of March to be most effective (see examples on page 3-4) (IF APPLICABLE) Schedule a bus for your parish PROMOTIONAL IDEAS FOR YOUR PARISH Conference Posters Place in locations that have most impact NOTE: location, location, location! Get posters up right after your PC Kickoff Meeting. Share Conference Brochures and Wallet Cards Hand them directly to potential attendees and talk about conference. Mention that registration can be via website or by mail-in. Parish Bulletin Announcements and/or Parish Newsletter Articles As soon as possible and as often as possible starting as early as possible in February to be most effective Invitation Use your parish s new-family list to make personal contact and extend invitations to men new to your parish or to men that don t regularly attend Mass or are not Catholics. Dear Daddy Letter Compose a simulated letter of invitation from a child and arrange to distribute copies to all parish religious education students by early February Get in on Parish Meetings Make a list of every major meeting scheduled in the Parish during February and March (including women s groups). Arrange to attend and speak or hand out brochures to attendees. The event will feature keynote presentations by Catholic biblical scholar, professor and conference speaker Dr. Scott Hahn from Steubenville, Ohio, and well-known blogger Msgr. Charles Pope from the Archdiocese of Washington D.C. There will be opportunities for Eucharistic Adoration, the celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation as well as devotional prayers. Additionally, exhibitors will be present with a full array of Catholic books and publications as well as CDs and ministry opportunities. Fathers, sons, grandsons and friends are all most welcome to register for the event. Bishop Joseph C. Bambera will join with participants throughout the day and celebrate a closing Mass. The idea for the event was initiated by laymen from various parishes, with the support of their pastors, in an effort to address challenging issues facing men in today's culture. Pulpit Talk by a member of a parish Men s Group My name is. I am a member of our Men s Fellowship Group (or whatever men s group name applies) here at Parish. Our Men s group is part of the Catholic Men s Ministry of the Diocese of Scranton which is sponsoring the 2016 Catholic Men s Conference on Saturday, April 23rd. Father has allowed me to take a few minutes to highlight some important details about the Conference. This is the second year that this conference will be held in the Scranton Diocese. We hope to bring together more than 1,000 men for an inspirational and uplifting day. We will hear how men can grow spiritually and enrich the relationships in our families, marriages, parishes and at work. There will also be opportunities for fellowship, confession & Mass.
