Introduction Smith & Nephew User Gateway (SNUG) is a SSL VPN (Virtual Private Network) solution that provides users with seamless, secure remote access to Smith & Nephew network services and applications without the use of a FOB. SNUG provides simple and easy web access through a web browser. How Do I Get Access to SNUG? Smith & Nephew employees are given access rights automatically. If you received this guide as part of a roll-out announcement, you ready to start using SNUG. If you start SNUG and you get a message saying that you do not have permission to access resources, contact the Service Desk. Let them know that you are a Orthopedic Trauma/Recon sales representative and specify whether you are an employee or a 1099 and request to be set up. For more information, see the section, Unsuccessful Login Messages, in this guide. The Service Desk may ask for your manager s name and contact information, plus an e-mail from him or her, confirming that you are working for Smith & Nephew. Service Desk: (+1) 877 449 8434 Getting Started Starting SNUG is quite simple. First, you establish a connection to the internet. If you are at a hotel, open a browser window and follow their procedures to get on-line. Then open a new browser window and launch SNUG. To Start Open browser and verify your Internet Connection Open a new browser window On the address line type snsales.smithnephew.com Press enter An introduction page will appear as shown below. SNUG User Guide for Sales 1

Click Click here to log in. You may get a security warning such as the one below. For any security warning, click yes. It is okay to go to a secure trusted site. The security settings of your browser may cause these warnings to appear. Logging In Enter your the network User ID and password (the ID and password you use to access the SNSales Portal.) SNUG User Guide for Sales 2

Be sure that ORTHO_WEB is the realm from the drop down under Realm. *Realm is the domain where your user id is set up. Reps are set-up in the Ortho-Web domain. Click Login. If the logon was successful, the SNUG Home page will appear and a toolbar will appear on the upper right hand corner. If not successful, see the section on Unsuccessful Login Message. Do not close this window. See the section, Using SNUG, for tips for using the Home page and tool bar. Security Questions The first time you log into the system, you will need to complete three security questions. These questions will be presented to you to verify your identity should SNUG detect that your keystroke rhythm is significantly different from past logins. This prevents fraudulent access should your user ID and password become compromised. If you keep getting the security questions when logging in, call the Service Desk. Make sure that you remember your security questions and answers because you may need them again in the future. Unsuccessful Login Messages Instead of the Home page, you may get one of the following four messages. If you do, follow the instructions below the message to log on. If you have successfully logged in, you may skip this section and go directly to Using SNUG. 1) PLEASE CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD If your Network password has expired, you will see the window shown below: SNUG User Guide for Sales 3

Type in your old password. Type in your new password twice. Click the Submit button. IMPORTANT: This changes your network password. Make sure you remember this password. 2) YOU ARE NOT PERMITTED ACCESS TO RESOURCES or LOGON AUTHENTICATION FAILED BECAUSE If you get one of these messages, it usually means you are not correctly set up in a SNUG group. You should call the Service Desk, let them know that you are a Orthopedic Trauma/Recon sales representative and specify whether you are an employee or a 1099. They then will enrol you in the correct SNUG group. 3) CONNECTION ERROR If you get a message which includes the words connection error with the server has occurred, this can mean that your account has been locked from 3 unsuccessful password entries. Call the Service Desk, and let them know the message and ask them to unlock your password. They will ask you to verify that you have access privileges. 4) SESSION HAS EXPIRED, If you get this message, then your previous session may have been terminated unexpectedly. Close the browser window, open a new window, delete the cookies and files, and logon to SNUG Delete cookies and files by: A. On the Browser Menu, click on Tools and scroll to Internet Options B. Click Delete Cookies and then Delete Files SNUG User Guide for Sales 4
