Museum and Collections began in the Faculty of Arts in 2004 and moved to the CCR in 2005 (with the appointment of Kylie Message) to become the first stream in a broader Liberal Arts set of offerings. Initially developed as a collaboration with the National Museum of Australia. Streams in Cultural Environmental Heritage (with the appointment of Sally May in 2009) and Visual Cultural Research soon followed. The program is based on a hubs and spokes model.
