I love to travel and a few of us from work have gone on weekend adventure breaks. I have a keen interest in golf and football and play as often as I can. I chose Crowe Horwath because it is a medium-sized firm and I felt it would offer me more hands-on experience in a variety of industry sectors compared to other firms. On joining Crowe Horwath I started as an Audit Trainee. Trainees and Seniors from previous intakes provided me with great support, helping me to settle in and get to grips with the transition from university to the working world. One of the great benefits of working at Crowe Horwath is the chance to rotate to different departments during your contract. After six months I joined the Corporate Finance department where I worked on the Annual Irish Hotel Survey and a number of independent business reviews and feasibility projects. I have gained a wealth of experience so far through dealing with a diverse range of clients and operating in various roles. This has been really beneficial for my career development and has allowed me to develop a variety of relevant skills. There is great rapport amongst the trainees, and the senior members of staff are always willing to lend a hand or offer advice. EMMA SHORTT (25) B.A. Accounting and Finance Dublin City University The prospect of working with a broad range of clients whilst also being in a challenging environment is initially what attracted me to Crowe Horwath. The firm offers you responsibility from an early stage whilst also giving trainees the opportunity to spend time in different departments, greatly benefiting your training and development. From the structured training I received the necessary skills and knowledge before I actually needed them in the real working context, whilst simultaneously developing interpersonal and communication skills which are of vital importance in the working world. Training provides a serious challenge in a friendly, supportive atmosphere. The work is demanding but enjoyable and the varied nature means that you can constantly improve and broaden your range of expertise. The staff are exceptionally friendly and with so many young people there is an excellent social scene within the firm. MARK REYNOLDS (24) B.A. Accounting and Finance Dublin City University

I am an avid food enthusiast who enjoys cooking and exploring foreign cuisines. Horse racing, live music, and film are important to me along with my background in agriculture. What attracted me to Crowe Horwath initially was that it is a medium-sized firm attached to a global name. This appealed to me as I knew I could get greater exposure to a broad range of accounting disciplines in a firm that is not too big or impersonal. On commencement of our training contract all graduates undertook a one week induction course. This gives you the basics in bookkeeping, auditing and taxation, but the greatest advantage is that it allows you to meet your fellow trainees. I began working in the audit department and gained a great deal of experience preparing audit files and accounts under the guidance of audit seniors. The training provides a gradual progression through the different areas of auditing and accountancy and as you go on you gain more confidence and knowledge to take on greater challenges. Each job and project presents different challenges that result in you developing a comprehensive skill set. At Crowe Horwath there is a personal feel to the firm, making it an enjoyable place to work, and the extensive training and hands-on experience are invaluable as you progress in your accountancy career. CIARA FLYNN (23) B.A. Law and Accounting University of Limerick Crowe Horwath is well known for providing the accountancy skills necessary to work with both large and small clients across a variety of sectors. It has a proven track record of training highly motivated people. As accountancy is a demanding job, I found it important to choose a firm where I would receive the right training that would prepare me for my future career. The professional training at Crowe Horwath has helped me to develop my skills and expertise as an accountant and is constantly motivating me to learn more; my confidence and ability to deal with clients in a professional and efficient manner is growing. The training we receive is unique. Trainees are given the opportunity to work across various departments within the organisation, ranging from audit and taxation to consulting, corporate finance, and wealth management. The client base includes both SMEs and larger enterprises from a wide range of sectors and industries, including hotel and leisure, public sector, film, media and entertainment, not-for-profit, and many others. There is a great working atmosphere and after joining the team I quickly realised there was a great feeling of unity amongst all staff members. PATRICK DUNNE (21) B.A. Accounting Waterford Institute of Technology

I m a huge football, rugby and golf fan. I also have a passion for music and design. I love music and film and regularly go to the cinema and attend concerts. Upon finishing college, I wanted to put what I had studied to practical use and experience accountancy in a real-world context. From the various interviews I attended and the numerous discussions I had with friends and colleagues, Crowe Horwath presented itself to be the best environment for a new graduate to develop their skills and abilities and become fully involved with clients right from the beginning of their contract. Whilst the initial period of my contract presented challenges, the firm provided huge support. Senior staff members always try to make themselves available to trainees for guidance. One of the great benefits of Crowe Horwath is that graduates have the opportunity to work closely with both partners and directors on projects. The rapid progression in the level of autonomy, independence, and responsibility that graduates achieve has been one of my favourite aspects of working with the firm. Gaining broad experience and training in a medium-sized firm with a long standing reputation attracted me to Crowe Horwath. My first week in the firm was spent with 14 other trainees gaining an insight into what was expected of us during our training. From then on a lot of my training was primarily on the job and team-based. The greatest aspect of the firm is the experience of working directly with partners and senior management from early on in your contract, as this gives you a lot of confidence. After seven years with the firm I now manage the film finance department, which is both a challenging and rewarding role. RÓISÍN HENEHAN (29) B. Comm (International) University College Dublin The staff at Crowe Horwath are highly motivated and energetic, and there is a strong camaraderie among the team. It is a firm that engages with its entire staff and takes an interest in their well-being. ANDREW KELLY (23) B. Comm University College Dublin

Why choose Crowe Horwath?
