Hydro-Foam Monitor Stations *Available in 30 gallon, 55 gallon, 265 gallon containers Product Application Firewater monitors are normally installed, or otherwise made available for exposure protection throughout industrial facilities that process and/or inventory flammable liquids. When employed for water application, they can also serve a dual purpose and be used for applying foam for vapor suppression and/or spill fire protection. Firewater monitors are easily converted to this dual foam/water application through the use of a separate/dedicated foam reservoir and a Hydro-Foam Nozzle installed on each monitor. HYDRO-FOAM MONITOR STATIONS PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING ADVANTAGES over Handline Hose Stations utilizing Inline Eductors. Hydraulic Efficiency Hydro-Foam Monitors operate effectively at lower inlet pressures, when compared to handline nozzles used in conjunction with inline eductors. Inline eductors require a nominal 35% of the available water inlet pressure in order to proportion foam. This pressure drop, when combined with the pressure loss through the delivery hose to the nozzle, translates into required inlet pressures of approximately 50 psi greater than what is needed for Hydro-Foam monitors to operate. Fire Fighting Capability Hydrocarbon spill fires require a minimum nominal foam application density of 0.1 gpm per sq. ft. Therefore, a 100 gpm handline has the capability of controlling and suppressing approximately 1000 sq. ft. of flame surface area. Scaled up, a 500 (750, 1,000) gpm foam water monitor has the capability of controlling and suppressing 5 (7.5, 10) times the flame surface area versus that of a 100 gpm handline nozzle. Operator Safety Monitors flowing between 500 and 1,000 gpm have an effective range which is about 3 times farther than that of a 100 gpm handline. This greater projection of foam or water translates proportionally into more safety for the operator. In addition, when the monitor nozzle is adjusted to the FULL FOG position the higher volume of foam or water provides proportionally more cooling for the operator. Also, (as opposed to handlines) monitors can be set up and adjusted - then temporarily left unattended, if necessary. They are used extensively in hydrocarbon processing and petrochemical plants throughout the world. Hydro-Foam Monitor Stations are typically installed in high-hazard/ high value areas such as process units, tank farms, truck loading racks, rail terminals and marine facilities. Because of their inherent ease of operation, Hydro-Foam Monitor Stations, when used by trained operators and fire fighters, have assisted in the significant reduction of industrial fire losses. Hydro-Foam Monitor Station Accessories Drum Kit & Double Drum Kit A Drum Kit is the link between any Hydro-Foam Nozzle and an atmospheric foam tank. The standard drum kit consists of: flexible reinforced clear foam pick-up hose; foam concentrate valve, pvc, quarter-turn ball type; rigid pvc concentrate pick-up tube ( stinger ); pressure/vacuum vent. Custom configurations can also be provided for use with totes, or larger atmospheric foam tanks. Specify model and flow rate of Hydro-Foam Nozzle and length of hose (if other than 8 ) that Drum Kit is to be used with. Double Drum Kit is used to connect two (2) drums or tanks to a Hydro-Foam Nozzle, and consists of: pvc tee; two (2) flexible hoses; one (1) 90 pvc elbow; two (2) foam concentrate control valves, pvc, quarter-turn ball type; two (2) pvc stingers ; and two (2) pressure/vacuum vents. Hydro-Foam Monitor Station Accessories Transportable Foam Tote 265 Gallon (1000 Liter) Capacity All Hydro-Foam Monitor Stations can now be supplied with ThunderStorm ATC transportable foam totes. 265 gallons of ThunderStorm ATC concentrate is included with each tote. The larger foam concentrate capacity of the Tote matches up ideally with High Flow Ranger Hydro- Foam Monitor Stations. Molded cross-linked, high density polyethylene tank is equipped with: reinforced metal enclosure; carbon steel base with fork lift channels; threaded top inspection hatch; valved (2 cam-lock) pvc fill/drain bottom fitting. Hose Reel Foam Station-Bladder Tank Style - 40 Gallon The Bladder Tank Handline Hose Reel Foam System provides versatile, initial fire intervention and can easily be operated by one person. Foam System requires no external power source, other than a pressurized water source. The system consists of the following components: PRESSURE VESSEL- Bladder Type ASME carbon steel, 200 psi w.p. pressure vessel, 40 gallon nominal capacity. Mounted on carbon steel support saddles. Quick Attack Foam Cart More than a portable monitor, the Quick Attack foam cart can easily be operated by one person. Ideal for spill fires in chemical plants and flammable liquid storage areas.
