You ll find them in our Business Banking Terms and Conditions. Our Business Banking Deposit Accounts: Business Money Manager and Community Savings Accounts International Fixed Term Deposits also come with these Additional Conditions (which we ll call Terms ). You should read them together with our Business Banking Terms and Conditions, so you have all the information you need. For the most up-to-date versions of these Terms, our Business Banking Terms and Conditions, our Business Banking Made Easy brochure and our Price List, just ask us in any HSBC branch, by phone or find them on our website. 1.1 Getting in touch with you If we need to contact you, we ll do it by post, email or on your statements. 1.2 Where there are differences Where there s a conflict between these Terms and anything in our Business Banking Terms and Conditions, these Terms take precedence. If there s a conflict between these Terms and the Customer Information Appendix in our Business Banking Terms and Conditions, the Customer Information Appendix takes precedence. 1.3 Changes to these Terms We may change these Terms at any time. We ve explained when we may do this and why, in detail, in our Business Banking Terms and Conditions. If we do change these Terms or the Business Banking Terms and Conditions, your current International Fixed Term Deposit won t be affected (but any new or renewed Deposits will be). 1.4 Technical language Some of the words and phrases in this document have a specific meaning. We ve capitalised these words and included them in a Glossary at the end of our Business Banking Terms and Conditions. 1.5 We and you By we, us or our, we mean HSBC Bank plc. By you or your, we mean you as a person (if you are a sole trader) and your business or legal entity (including companies and partnerships). 2 3

2. Business Money Manager and Community Savings Accounts This section covers the Additional Conditions for our Business Money Manager ( BMM ) account and our Community Savings Account ( CSA ). When we say your Account in this section, we mean your BMM or CSA account. When we say the Terms, we mean the terms in this section. 2.1 Using your Account Your BMM or CSA is a sterling instant access savings account. You can only use your Account as a savings account. This means you can t use it to send or receive business payments, like a current account. If we think you re using it like this, we may close it. We ll tell you in writing at least 30 days before we close your Account. You mustn t go overdrawn. If you do, you ll have to pay us what you owe immediately. 2.2 Deposits and withdrawals You can make deposits: by Internal Transfer or Currency Account Transfer from business current accounts or business savings accounts with us in the same name by Standing Order Payment from business current accounts with us in the same name by a standing order payment or electronic payment from accounts you hold with other financial institutions. You can make withdrawals: by Internal Transfer or Currency Account Transfer to business current accounts or business savings accounts with us in the same name in cash in our branches by CHAPS Payment (over the counter in any HSBC branch) to transfer money to accounts in your name with other financial institutions in the UK, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man. by post or Business Telephone Banking, to transfer money to accounts in your name with other financial institutions in the UK, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man by Debit Card (if your BMM has one). 2.2.1 Charges We won t charge you for making deposits or withdrawals on your Account. You may have to pay charges on your business current account relating to transactions with your BMM or CSA. You can find them in our Price List. 2.3 Interest We ll pay you Credit Interest on the cleared balance at the applicable rate for your Account. You ll find the initial applicable rate in the Interest Rates leaflet that we ll give you when you open your Account. We ll tell you what the current rate is if you contact us. The rate will depend on how often you take money out of the Account. 2.3.1 How withdrawing money affects your interest rate If you take money out when we re paying you interest at our 30 Day Rate We ll pay you at our Instant Access Rate on the cleared balance of your Account from the day after you make the withdrawal. You ll start getting the 30 Day Rate again once 30 days pass without you taking money out. If you take money out when we re paying you interest at our 60 Day Rate We ll pay you at our 30 Day Rate on the cleared balance of your Account from the day after you make the withdrawal. You ll start getting the 60 Day Rate again once 30 days pass without you taking money out. If you make another withdrawal in that time, you ll go back to the Instant Access Rate. We ll pay or charge your BMM interest either monthly or quarterly (in March, June, September and December) according to your instructions. We ll pay or charge your CSA interest monthly. 2.3.2 Changing our interest rates We may change any of these rates at any time, as long as we give you enough notice (see below). Favourable changes We ll make the change immediately and tell you about it either: within 30 days (by Individual Customer Notice), or within three Working Days by notice in the National Press or on our Rates and Charges Notices in our branches, or on our website. Unfavourable changes We ll let you know at least 30 days before we make the change. We ll do this by Individual Customer Notice, by notice in the National Press or on the Rates and Charges Notices in our branches. If you accept the change, you don t have to do anything. If you don t accept the change, you have this period of 30 days to close your Account without giving us advance notice, losing any interest or paying any charges you might otherwise owe. If we don t hear from you before the change comes into effect, we ll take that to mean that you accept the change. 2.4 Debit Cards If your BMM used to be a sterling business account with a Debit Card, you and any Cardholder can keep using the card on your BMM until its expiry date. After the expiry date, we may charge you fees for transactions you or any Cardholder make using a Debit Card on your business current account. Please check our Price List for details. 3. International Fixed Term Deposits This section covers the Additional Conditions for our Fixed Term Deposits in International Business Accounts or Foreign Currency Accounts. This type of account used to be called a Currency Fixed Deposit. When we say your Deposit in this section, we mean your International Fixed Term Deposit. When we say the Terms, we mean the terms in this section. 3.1 Opening a Deposit Before you can open a Deposit, you ll need a business current account or business instant access savings account with us, in the same currency. We ll call either of these a Business Account. You ll have to hold that Business Account for as long as you have the International Fixed Term Deposit. We ll send you an acknowledgement whenever you open a Deposit. You can make Deposits in a range of currencies that we have access to, as you choose. Your Deposit must have at least the following amount of money in it: US$10,000 (or the equivalent) for Deposits in US dollars, Canadian dollars, euros, Japanese yen or Swiss francs US$15,000 (or the equivalent) for Deposits in other currencies. We may let you have less than this minimum amount in your Deposit. There s no upper limit but once you ve opened a Deposit, you can t add more money to it. We can only pay cleared funds into your Deposit. If you want to open your Deposit using a Cheque, we ll pay it into your same currency Business Account first, wait until it clears and then transfer the money. If the Cheque is returned, we won t pay you any interest on the Deposit for the time the money was in there. We may also cancel your Deposit, close your Account and transfer the money in it to the Business Account it came from. If we do, you may have to pay a transaction charge on your Business Account for the transfer. You can find these charges in our Price List. 3.2 How it works You can t withdraw part of the money from a Deposit. You can t add to your initial deposit, but you can have more than one Deposit. 3.3 Maturity We ll send you a statement when your Deposit matures. When your Deposit matures, you can move all or some of the money in it to another account (as long as it s in your name and the same currency) or renew it. If you want, we can automatically renew your Deposit at the prevailing interest rate each time it matures. To tell us what you want to do, speak to whoever you usually deal with at HSBC. If you haven t given us any instructions about what to do with the Deposit at least two Working Days before it matures, we ll renew it for the same length of time, at the then current interest rate. 3.4 Interest We ll pay you Credit Interest on the money in your Deposit at a fixed rate. We ll calculate your Credit Interest daily on your cleared balance and pay it into your Deposit when it matures. The acknowledgment we send tells you what Credit Interest rate you ll get and what date it will mature on. We may ask you to pay Credit Interest to us, if the interest rate for the relevant currency is below 0%. People often call this negative interest. 3.4.1 Tax There are specific rules for sole traders in Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man, which we explain in full in the Business Banking Terms and Conditions. 3.4.2 Changing our interest rates We may change Deposit interest rates advertised in our branches or elsewhere, or quoted to you at any time before you open a Deposit. 3.5 Closing your Deposit early You can withdraw the full amount of the Deposit before it matures, as long as it s less than 50,000 (or currency equivalent). You can t withdraw a Deposit for 50,000 or more (or currency equivalent) before it matures. We charge a minimum fee of US$260 or E220 (or the US dollar equivalent) for early withdrawals, to cover our costs and any losses we expect to suffer as a result. We may change these fees for new and renewed Deposits, but not for any Deposits you already have. 3.6 When we may close your Deposit We may close your Deposit by giving you 30 days notice in writing. The notice won t expire until the latest maturity date. We may also close your Deposit immediately if you breach these Terms, the Business Banking Terms and Conditions or become Insolvent.
