I. Fuji Electric s environmental preservation activities Fuji Electric established its corporate mission in 1991 and the Basic Policies on Environmental Protection (http: //www.fujielectric.co.jp/about/company/contents_00_04.html) in 1992 (revised in 2003) based on the corporate mission. In line with the policies, Fuji Electric is promoting environmental preservation activities in all factories of the Group. Basic Policies of Fuji Electric on Environmental Protection 1. Offering products and technologies that contribute to global environmental protection Established in 1992 in 2003 Fuji Electric is keenly aware of our social responsibilities as a good corporate citizen and we regard efforts to protect the global environment as one of our most important management tasks. We will strive to achieve a sustainable, recycling-based society in compliance with the following basic policies. We will provide the market with energy-saving equipment, new energy equipment, environment monitoring equipment, environmentally friendly equipment, and related technologies to contribute actively to the protection of the global environment. 2. Reduction of environmental burden through the product life cycle We will strive to minimize the burden on the global environment throughout the product life cycle, from the procurement of materials to their disposal, when offering the Group's products to the market. 3. Reduction of environmental burden in business activities We will promote environmental conservation in a number of ways, including energy conservation, reduction of waste, and reduction of harmful chemicals. We thus aim to reduce the environmental burden of business activities at every stage, from procurement of materials and parts to production and distribution. 4. Compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and standards We will observe environmental regulations of not only the countries and regions where Group companies operate, but also those where our products are used. In addition, we will establish our own standards, where necessary, as part of our efforts in environmental protection. 5. Establishment and continuous improvement of environmental management systems We will promote environmental conservation by establishing Fuji Electric's own system to enhance environmental protection, set environmental targets, and achieve other environmental objectives. In addition, we will strive for continuous improvement through internal audits, etc. 6. Raising employees' awareness of environmental issues and contributing to society We will strive to raise employees' awareness of environmental protection problems through our daily activities; all employees will be encouraged to contribute actively to society through environmental conservation activities, etc. 7. Promotion of communication on our environmental activities We will disclose the Group's efforts in environmental protection, while promoting communication with society and reflecting its views in our efforts to continuously improve our environmental conservation activities. Fuji Electric Co., Ltd. President & Representative Director This environmental symbol represents Fuji Electric s attitude toward environmental protection. 2

II. Fuji Electric s Policy for Green Procurement 1. Purpose The object of the Green Procurement Guideline is to contribute to the preservation of the global environment and to the construction of a recycle-oriented society through procuring materials with small environmental impact from our suppliers acting positively to conserve the global environment. 2. Scope of application (1) This Guideline shall apply to suppliers environment activities and materials supplied to Fuji Electric and its consolidated subsidiaries. (2) Materials are purchases which directly constitute Fuji Electric's products, such as raw materials, parts, completed goods and equipment, subcontracted goods such as through commissioning production, processing and repairing to outside contractors including attachments, packages and other items shipped together with products, and substances suspected to remain in raw materials and parts used in manufacturing processes. (3) The Guideline shall also apply to products of which design and production were commissioned to third parties by the Fuji Electric and which are on sale or distributed with the Group's trademark attached. (4) The Guideline shall not apply to materials and goods used for research. When green procurement is performed in a different way from the Guideline and a particular standard is applied depending on group business activities. For details and confirmation, contact staff in charge of each of the Fuji Electric companies to which surveillance is commissioned. 3. For more information regarding evaluation, refer to Appendix I Evaluation Document for Supplier Implementation. (2) Measures for controlling chemical substances contained in products In order to correspond to legal control of chemical substances contained in products, it is necessary for the entire supply chain to control chemical substances in individual products, and when selecting suppliers to give priority to those suppliers that actively engage in environmental preservation activities. For more information regarding evaluation, refer to Appendix I Evaluation Document for Supplier Implementation. (3) Measures related to content of chemical substances in supplied materials Fuji Electric breaks down controlled substances into the following three categories. The evaluation condition is that Prohibited Substances and Conditionally Prohibited Substances must not be contained in the supplied material.
