For more than 60 years, The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center has provided an unparalleled level of expertise at our main campus in the Texas Medical Center. Now, through M. D. Anderson Cancer Center- Clinical Care Center in the Bay Area, we ve extended our experience and services into your neighborhood. On the campus of CHRISTUS St. John Hospital in Nassau Bay, M. D. Anderson provides the following services: Medical Oncology Radiation Oncology Chemotherapy Laboratory Pharmacy Blood donation Our treatment center offers convenience, direct appointment scheduling and free parking for patients in the Bay Area. Cancer Care That s Known Around the World Everyone treated at the center becomes an M. D. Anderson patient, and every case and treatment plan are reviewed by a team that includes a medical oncologist, a radiation oncologist if radiation treatment is required, and other specialists at M. D. Anderson s main campus. On-site nurses and other laboratory and pharmacy technicians support the center s physicians. We even have a blood donation center that s open to

all members of the community. Overall, this means that each patient receives the best combination of M. D. Anderson s wide range of cancer expertise and local care. The Latest Treatments, Technologies Most patients will receive their consultations and treatments at the Bay Area facility. In some instances, however, our physicians may recommend that patients visit our main campus to access an additional range of services, including clinical trials. We combine advanced technology with specialized expertise and an individualized approach to target tumors based on research evidence. This cancer management method determines the best combination of treatments in M. D. Anderson s research-grounded arsenal of therapies. For those requiring chemotherapy, M. D. Anderson Clinical Care Center in the Bay Area offers a convenient, comfortable outpatient treatment suite. Our radiation treatment services are supported by a linear accelerator, computerized tomography simulation, ultrasound, three-dimensional treatment planning, and intensity modulated radiation. Patients, and their family members, also have access to a variety of caring support services to help them live comfortably with cancer in their home and community. This includes careful planning and follow-up to minimize and treat any side effects of chemotherapy and other treatments. The M. D. Anderson Team Our entire team at M. D. Anderson Clinical Care Center in the Bay Area is trained and employed by M. D. Anderson. Medical and radiation oncologists lead the staff. Other staff members include nurses, patient service coordinators, pharmacists, medical technologists, phlebotomists, radiation therapists, dosimetrists and

radiation physicists. Together, they work to provide a full range of services and the quality of care you ve come to expect from M. D. Anderson. Collaborative Approach to Care M. D. Anderson Clinical Care Center in the Bay Area is available to serve current M. D. Anderson patients, as well as others in the Bay Area who require medical oncology or radiation treatment services. Those who select our center as a place of treatment become patients of M. D. Anderson, while remaining under the primary care of their personal physicians or referring specialists. Our physicians and staff work directly with patients personal physicians to tailor individual treatment plans to meet their needs, keeping them informed throughout the treatment experience.

Blood Donation Center Thanks to an on-site Blood Donation Center, family members or friends accompanying patients to the M. D. Anderson Clinical Care Center in the Bay Area can donate whole blood and other blood products while they re waiting. It s also a convenient location for patient support groups to donate. New donors in the Bay Area, from Clear Lake to Galveston, now have an easy way to support M. D. Anderson patients without having to drive into the busy Texas Medical Center. Current M. D. Anderson donors also can donate here.
