Using the SB Partners Client Web Portal Note: These are instructions for clients of SB Partners LLP. Overview The Client Web Portal is a file transfer system that allows clients to upload and download documents to and from SB Partners over the internet. This system uses full security with difficult Passwords, SSL encryption, and a Security Certificate. It also sits behind an internet Firewall. The Portal increases security of file transfers between SB Partners LLP and our clients (as opposed to emailing) and overcomes the attachment size limitation of email (15 MB or less). The internet address for the Client Web Portal is https://transfer.sbpartners.ca. It can also be reached through a link called Client Web Portal found at the top of pages on the main SB Partners internet site www.sbpartners.ca. When a client uploads a document, their SB Partners contact will receive an email notification. Notes: Documents remain in the Client Web Portal for one month only after they have been uploaded The length of time an upload takes depends on your internet speed, computer speed, and the file size, so we cannot give a time estimation Page 2 of 9
Receiving your username and password When you are first set up on the Client Web Portal, you will receive an email from the IT Manager at SB Partners. It contains the link to the Web Portal, your logon name and password, plus a link to a copy of these instructions. Page 3 of 9
Logging on Either click on the link you received in the email or open a Web Browser and, in the address line, type: https://transfer.sbpartners.ca. The logon screen will appear. Enter your username (which is your email address) and the password that you received in the email as above, then click Sign in. After completing any uploading or downloading, please click Sign Out to exit your session. Page 4 of 9
Navigating the Folders When your logon is complete, your folders will be displayed. Public folders are available to be viewed by all users set up for a company. A folder corresponding to the user that is currently logged on is also displayed. Note that all users with passwords for a company will have a private folder, however only folders belonging to the person logged on will be displayed - you cannot see or access the private folder of other individuals set up in your company. Double-click on a folder name to display the sub-folders or contents. At any time you can return to the top level of folders by clicking on the Up arrow or find that folder in the left column. Uploading files for SB With your folder selected, click the Upload icon. Click Add. Page 6 of 9
Browse to the file you wish to upload and double-click on it. It will appear in the upload list. If needed, you can now click Add again to add more files. Then click Upload. Page 7 of 9
***Please note that when you are uploading, the Progress Bar does not display any progress. Time will elapse, but it looks like nothing is happening. This is a flaw from the software developer over which we have no control. Please do not cancel the upload it will complete. When your upload is complete, you will receive a notification. You can now click Close and Sign Out. Your contact at SB Partners will automatically receive a notification that your upload has completed. Page 8 of 9
Downloading files from SB To download a file, highlight it and then click on the Download icon. You will be asked for confirmation that you want to download this file. You can choose Open, Save, or click the down arrow beside Save to Save As and then choose where you want to save the file. If you simply click Save, the document will automatically go into your Downloads folder. Another option is to Open, and then Save As from the program. Deleting files Files can only be deleted by someone at SB Partners. Page 9 of 9
