About Us Heart of Wales Holidays is a specialist provider of all inclusive activity holidays, for adults with learning disabilities with 24 hour support on hand, and can accommodate up to four people from January to December. We also provide emergency & short term respite care. Please phone for more details. Founded in 2009, by Steven & Catherine Davies we are a small family run business, where adults can come and enjoy an all inclusive supported activity holiday, in a safe and supportive environment. We have many years experience and knowledge of working with adults with learning disabilities, and can offer high levels of support on a person centred basis. We offer choice, life skills, education and social participation and awareness, whilst having fun doing both indoor and outdoor activities, and enjoying North Wales and all it has to offer. Our complete package holiday consists of transport to and from pick up point, full board accommodation, Activities and support that is planned and provided to the individual on a person centred basis. JANUARY 2015 Test your skills week WEDS 7TH JANUARY -TUES 13TH JANUARY 725 Christmas is over and a new year is here so why not join us in North Wales where you can relax and enjoy some indoor activities like swimming in the local leisure centre, test your skills at ten pin bowling and playing pool, or watch the latest films at the cinema. If the weather is good try a little walking along the promenade to burn off the Christmas calories. The evenings can be fun learning to play new board games and answering quizzes, doing picture puzzles or you can try your hand at sewing, knitting or model making. Food Lovers week WEDS 14TH JANUARY -TUES 20TH JANUARY 725 This week why not try cooking something new. We will be looking at different recipes for you to try and you will learn how to bake a cake. We will be going out to buy some fresh locally grown ingredients and you will be putting your cooking skills to the test. Also included this week is going out for a meal at a swanky restaurant plus lots of other indoor activities, outdoor activities will also be available if the weather permits. Film & TV Week WEDS 21ST JANUARY -TUES 27TH JANUARY 725 This week is all about films and TV so if you want to test your knowledge, then come and join us as we have fun doing TV and film quizzes, go to the cinema, scour the local indoor boot sale (which is on all year round )for your favourite films at bargain prices. Make your own popcorn, and chill out as you watch your favourite film on TV. There will also be lots of other activities for you to enjoy. Arts & Crafts week 1 WEDS 28TH JANUARY -TUES 3RD FEBRUARY 725 Show off your creative skills this week as you learn new crafts, try your hand at pottery, painting, model making, try a jigsaw puzzle, visit a craft centre to get new ideas, and visit art galleries. Get hands on and try weaving. Also choose from the many other activities on offer throughout the week FEBRUARY Keeping Fit Week WEDS 4TH FEBRUARY TUES 10TH FEBRUARY 740 This week is all about keeping fit, you will be swimming at the local leisure centre, getting competitive with ten pin bowling, playing table tennis or badminton, and when that tires you out, then how about relaxing in front of the fire watching a DVD of your choice, or playing some of the fun board games or the pinball machine that we have here. Other fun activities are also be available.
Valentine Week WEDS 11TH FEBRUARY -TUES 17TH FEBRUARY 740 Love is in the air this week. We will be making valentine cards and gifts for the ones you love. Relax and watch a sloppy love film (but don t forget your hankies) and try your hand at making valentine biscuits. Going out to a special Valentine s disco run by Conwy Connect is also on the list of things to do this week Sightseeing Week WEDS 18TH FEBRUARY -TUES 24TH FEBRUARY 740 It may not be the warmest of weather, but wrap up warm and we will be off on a sightseeing week. In the daytime we will visit lots of lovely little villages in North Wales and the evenings will be for relaxing and doing some fun indoor activities. MARCH Spring Time in Wales WEDS 4TH MARCH TUES 10TH MARCH 755 Spring is in the air as we visit a farm where you can bottle feed young lambs and calves, hold rabbits and chicks, and see all the farmyard animals, ride on a tractor and trailer and see what life on the farm is like at this busy time of year. We will be visiting the farm shop for souvenirs and the chocolate shop where they make their own delicious chocolate. We will also be visiting Anglesey Sea Zoo where you can see all sorts of strange and wonderful creatures. In the evenings you can choose from a range of fun indoor activities or just curl up and watch a good film. Beautiful Gardens of Wales WEDS 11TH MARCH -TUES 17TH MARCH 755 This week learn all about the gardens of Wales. We are going to visit the famous Bodnant Gardens where the spring time flowers will be in full bloom. We will also be visiting a water garden where you can sample tasty treats in The Dutch Pancake House. Also on the cards is a visit to a fabulous garden centre where they sell all sorts of plants and have a great gift shop and cafe. Have a go at planting your own flowers that you can take home with you and then watch them grow. Arts & Crafts week 3 WEDS 18TH MARCH -TUES 24TH MARCH 755 This week you will be able to make some great things to take home for Easter. Make Easter cards for your families and friends and paint Easter related things at Piggery Pottery. Paint and decorate eggs for the Heart of Wales Easter egg tree. Visit a lovely little church and find out the true meaning of Easter. There will also be lots of other activities for you to enjoy while you are here.
History Week WEDS 25TH MARCH TUES 31ST MARCH 755 This week why don t you come and discover the history of North Wales. Find out what our ancestors did and how they lived. Visit historic buildings dating back to the Elizabethan times, explore the Bronze Age copper mines, visit Plas Newydd Historic House and look around Alice in Wonderland and other interesting museums. Don t forget there will also be a choice of other fun activities to try! Animal Week WEDS 1ST APRIL TUES 7TH APRIL 770 & WEDS 12TH AUGUST- TUES 18TH AUGUST 830 If you like animals then amongst the activities this week is a day at the zoo, a trip to a working farm where you can bottle feed the young lambs and calves, handle rabbits and ride on a tractor & trailer, a visit to a water garden where you will see otters at play before going to The Dutch Pancake House to try their delicious pancakes! There are lots more activities also. Adventure Week 1 WEDS 8TH APRIL TUES 14TH APRIL 770 This week s activities will include canoeing kayaking and abseiling at Plas Y Brenin and a choice of other exciting activities outdoor karting on the track, archery and ten pin bowling so if you are up for an adventure week this is it. There will be other fun indoor & outdoor activities also. Adventure Week 2 WEDS 15TH APRIL TUES 21ST APRIL 770 This week s activities will be for able bodied individuals with a sense of adventure, as included in the holiday are Indoor Kart racing at Green Line karting and indoor rock climbing at Beacon climbing centre, also 100mph zip wire ride over Penrhyn Slate quarry Bethesda. This is definitely not for the faint hearted! High ropes and ladders plus a choice of other fun indoor and outdoor adventure activities. Castles Myth & Legend Week 1 WEDS 22ND APRIL - TUES 28TH APRIL 770 WEDS 10TH JUNE- TUES 16TH JUNE 795 & WEDS 16TH SEPT - TUES 22ND SEPT 815 This week you will get the chance to visit some of the castles of Wales, visit an Armoury where you can see weapons of old or find your family crest. Listen to stories about the ghosts of Conwy as we go on a tour of Plas Mawr. Browse the gift shops. Visit the Ugly House near Betws Y Coed, Gwydir Castle LLanrwst and the quaint little town of Beddgelert with its famous legend of Gelert. All the Fun of the Fair Week WEDS 29TH APRIL - TUES 5TH MAY 785 The great Victorian Extravaganza is held this week, and if you like steam engines and all the fun of the fair, then you will love this. There will be lots of stalls to see, bands to listen to and fun things to do there, so come and soak up the atmosphere! Also included in this week s activities will be going to the transport festival, having fun in the penny arcades and amusements, a seaside musical, and a choice of other indoor and outdoor activities.
Fishing Week WEDS 6TH MAY TUES 12TH MAY 785 This week you will get the chance to learn to fish. Whether its beach casting you would like to try, fishing for trout on the river bank, or even boat fishing. This is a chance to chill out and relax whilst enjoying the beautiful and peaceful surroundings of North Wales. Also included amongst the activities will be a sea cruise, and a speed boat ride. Vintage Rally Week WEDS 13TH MAY TUES 19TH MAY 785 The vintage rally comes to town this week so if you like old vehicles this is the week for you. The week also includes a visit to Tacla Taid - a transport museum, the Welsh Slate museum where you will see different kinds of locomotives that were used in producing slate. There will be lots of other indoor and outdoor activities on offer so you won t get time to be bored. Photography Week WEDS 20TH MAY- TUES 26TH MAY 785 & WEDS 30TH SEPT - TUES 6TH OCT 795 This is a great week for taking photo s as the Laburnum Arch is in full flower in Bodnant gardens. Also Included will be a chance to take some stunning landscape photographs. Walks in the countryside & woodland walks are also planned. You can also photograph aeroplanes at Llandudno Air show which is on this week. There will also be lots of indoor & outdoor activities to choose from while you are here. Arts & Crafts Week WEDS 27TH MAY TUES 2ND JUNE 795 This week you will learn about painting pottery, discover new things to do with paint, visit art galleries and craft centres and start and finish your own project. Other activities will include day trips around quaint little villages, where they produce their own unique crafts, and a visit to Trefriw Woollen Mills with hands on weaving. Beaumaris Festival is also on this week so there will be plenty to see while you are here. Gardens, Plants & Bees Week WEDS 3RD JUNE- TUES 9TH JUNE 795 Whilst you are with us this week, amongst other activities you will learn how to make a hanging basket, paint your own plant pot and plant seeds, take a stroll through the countryside, and visit beautiful gardens and garden centres. Come and find out all about bees as we visit a working beehive (don t worry you will wear special safety suits to protect yourselves!) You will also have lots of other activities to while away the hours. Walking Week WEDS 17TH JUNE- TUES 23RD JUNE 795 For all you nature lovers, this week is about walking in the mountains, the countryside and by the seaside to see nature at its best. We will picnic in Snowdonia National Park, take a walk up The Sychnant Pass and see the majestic scenery of Capel Curig. So bring your walking shoes. In the evenings you can relax by the beach or watch one of the many shows on offer throughout the season. Water Week WEDS 24TH JUNE TUES 30TH JUNE 795 If you like boats then you will love the river and sea cruises waiting to be enjoyed. We will visit Puffin Island off the coast of Anglesey and see birds and grey seals living in their natural habitat, we will visit a great Sea Aquarium where you can get up close and personal with some of the fish, and cruise the Conwy River viewing the magnificent castle from the water. Music Week WEDS 1ST JULY- TUES 7TH JULY 815 For all you music lovers this week is dedicated to different types of music. From folk, choir, pop & country you will get the chance to listen to it all. During the day you will be exploring quaint little towns and villages and the evenings will be spent listening to different types of music at different venues. Transport Week WEDS 8TH JULY- TUES 14TH JULY 815 If you like all things to do with Transport then come and join us for the week while we go on a trip to Anglesey Transport Museum where you will see all kinds of cars old and new. Come and ride on a steam train and land train and visit a railway museum. Ride a tram up the Great Orme or go by cable car. There will be lots of other indoor and outdoor activities to choose from to suit your taste also. Sightseeing Week WEDS 15TH JULY-TUES 21ST JULY 815 For those who prefer to do less walking, come and enjoy a relaxing sightseeing week in Wales, taking in the beautiful scenery of the mountains and sea, pretty villages and little welsh tea rooms, where you will have to try a fresh cream scone and a lovely cup of tea. In the evenings take gentle strolls along the promenade where you can sit and listen to the town band play, or try some games or quizzes in the garden. Sand & Sea Week WEDS 22ND JULY- TUES 28TH JULY 815 This week the North Wales Boat show is on, and If sand & sea is what you like, then you will love visiting some of the cleanest beaches in the country, where you can kick off your shoes and walk along the sand, sit and eat ice cream, or lie back and listen to the sounds of the waves. Stroll along the Victorian piers and browse the little gift shops, and everywhere you go there s always a little Welsh Tearoom where you can sample the delicious cakes and try Welsh tea!

How about tobogganing and snow tubing in Happy Valley? Also included is listening to live music, playing crazy golf and a choice of other indoor & outdoor activities Showtime Week WEDS 5TH AUGUST- TUES 11TH AUGUST 830 This week is about shows. In the daytime you will be exploring the towns and villages of Wales, and you will get the chance to see Anglesey Agricultural show, which is a great day out for young and old, and in the evening some of the many musical shows on offer throughout the summer in Wales. Animal Week 2 WEDS 12TH AUGUST-TUES 18TH AUGUST 830 A very popular week, here is another chance for you to enjoy the animals as included in this week s activities is a day at the zoo, a trip to the farm where you can bottle feed the young lambs and calves, handle chicks and ride on a tractor, and visit a water garden where you will see otters at play before going to The Dutch Pancake House to try their delicious pancakes! Out & About Week WEDS 26TH AUGUST- TUES 1ST SEPT 830 This week s activities will include a visit to Plas Newydd a lovely country house with its stunning views across the Menai Straits, and don t miss the Goldwing motorbike evening display where you can see them up close and then watch them drive along the promenade with all their lights on, music playing and great costumes. There will also be swimming at the local leisure centre and visits to museums, art galleries souvenir shops and Welsh tea rooms! Relax By the Seaside Week WEDS 2ND SEPT TUES 8TH SEPT 815 A quieter week as the school term starts, this is where you can take a stroll along the promenade, and listen to the town band play, take a paddle in the sea or just sit and listen to the waves as you enjoy an ice cream. This week is all about having a relaxing time, watching a seaside show, exploring new places, and listening to a Welsh male voice choir.
Photography Week 2 WEDS 9TH SEPT - TUES 15TH SEPT 815 If you missed the first photography week don t worry, here is another chance to get some wonderful landscape and seascape photographs as we travel to some beautiful locations. Also included will be a trip to LLynon Mill, walks in the countryside, blackberry picking, making a pie and a choice of other indoor & outdoor activities. There will also be plenty of other activities to choose from. It s too good to miss! Wales in autumn WEDS 30 TH SEPT TUES 6TH OCT 795 Autumn is a lovely time of year in Wales, so join us while we go on woodland nature walks to see the leaves as they change colour. As the hustle and bustle of summer comes to an end, relax and enjoy the last of the warm days as we visit Snowdonia, Capel Curig, Llanberis and Llanrwst, and in the evening enjoy some live music at Venue Cymru Theatre, and a choice of other indoor and outdoor activities. Railway week WEDS 7TH OCT TUES 13TH OCT 795 This is the week for the train lovers. You will be visiting the train station with the longest name in Llanfair P.G. and browsing the gift shops nearby. You will travel on steam trains through the welsh mountains, ride the land train in Llandudno, and visit train museums to see some lovely old locomotives. In the evenings, try making popcorn, play some board games, play a train quiz game or choose one of the other indoor or outdoor activities. Arts Crafts & Cookery Week WEDS 21ST OCT- TUES 27TH OCT 795 For this week use your imagination to make art & craft projects. Pottery, painting, crafts, and cooking delicious recipes will keep you busy all week, and if that s not enough there s also the cinema, bowling alley and swimming pool. At the end of the week, help make your very own Halloween party by making a buffet, and scary looking pumpkins. Help decorate the house with spooky ghosts and ghouls and listen to Halloween music. This is a great way to have Halloween fun! Guy Fawkes Week WEDS 28TH OCT TUES 3RD NOVEMBER 780 The weather is changing but you can still have fun doing indoor & outdoor activities. This week, why not come and celebrate Bonfire night as we go to an organised event & watch a brilliant firework display, keep warm by the Bonfire and eat toffee apples. Collect autumn leaves and make your own collage, or paint your own bonfire night picture, and there will be lots of other activities for you to choose from. The Great Outdoors Week WEDS 4TH NOVEMBER -TUES 10 TH NOVEMBER 780 Woodland walks and beach combing, visits to pretty places and welsh tea rooms are on the agenda for this week. Painting pottery is also on the list of things to do as well as a choice of other indoor or outdoor activities depending on the weather. Cooking Week WEDS 11TH NOVEMBER -TUES 17TH NOVEMBER 780 Cooking is on the cards for this week. Try your hand at traditional welsh cake recipes one of which you can take home. Visit a local bakery and sample some home -made cakes and bread. If the weather is good take a walk along the pier and watch the fishermen or try fishing for yourself. There will be lots of other fun activities to try both indoor and outdoor to keep you active while you are here. Festive Fun Week WEDS 18TH NOVEMBER -TUES 24TH NOVEMBER 780 Join us this week as we go to Venue Cymru to watch one of the Christmas season shows. We will be out and about to see the Christmas lights, and hunting for bargains at the indoor boot sale. Also choose from lots of fun activities both indoor and outdoor while you are here.
Christmas week 1 WEDS 25TH-TUES 1ST DECEMBER 765 This is a busy time of year for Christmas crafts, so why don t you come for a crafty week of fun in Wales. Paint your own Christmas tree decorations, make Christmas cards for your friends and families or try making gifts tags. Whatever you decide to make you can take home ready for Christmas. We will also be watching one of the new films out at the cinema, ten pin bowling and other great indoor activities. Christmas Week 2 WEDS 2ND DECEMBER TUES 8TH DECEMBER 765 Christmas is just around the corner, and there will be plenty to keep you busy while you are here. You will be shopping for Christmas presents, and wrapping them up, helping put up the Christmas tree and decorations while you listen and sing along to Christmas carols, you can make your own cards for friends and families, make mulled wine and mince pies, and just experience the feel good factor of the season. Christmas Week 3 WEDS 9TH DECEMBER TUES 15TH DECEMBER 765 If you couldn t make it last week then you can have another chance to do your last minute shopping, make a 2013 calendar and watch a Christmas play. Join in and sing at the Christmas carol service in the local church and have a go at making a chocolate log. There will be other seasonal activities to try before going home and joining your families and friends for a lovely Christmas day meal, celebrate Christmas and have a well - earned chill out. For the last two years we have held our holiday prices but due to the rising costs of fuel, food and activities we have reluctantly raised our prices accordingly. We feel that we are still able to give our customers high levels of support, a home from home atmosphere and value for money activity holidays and hope to see you all again.
