TUR 102 TURKISH II (2+0+0) 2 AKTS 2 (Türkçe II) Samples of texts from the literary masters of world and Turkish literature. ING 101 GENERAL ENGLISH I (3+1+0) 3 AKTS 5 (Genel İngilizce I) The course introduces very basic language structures to students in order to enable them to use language accurately and appropriately at a rudimentary level. The program places emphasis on the four language skills; reading, writing, speaking and listening. The course also focuses on improving pronunciation and increasing vocabulary. This course brings students from CEFR Level A1 to A2. ING 102 GENERAL ENGLISH II (3+1+0) 3 AKTS 5 (Genel İngilizce II) This course aims to effectively and efficiently raise students' standard of English from a minimal level to an elementary level of proficiency. Students develop their structural accuracy, oral fluency and language appropriateness through intensive language support based on grammar, vocabulary and skills work. Pre-requisite: ING 101 ING 201 INTERMEDIATE ENGLISH I (3+1+0) 3 AKTS 5 (Orta Düzey İngilizce I) The aim of the course is to further the language competency of students from elementary level to pre-intermediate level. This is a transition level course. The four skills -- speaking, listening, reading and writing covered allows students to reach CEFR level B1. Pre-requisite: ING 102 ING 202 INTERMEDIATE ENGLISH II (3+1+0) 3 AKTS 5 (Orta Düzey İngilizce II) The aim of ING 104 is to help students further develop their language skills to be able to function effectively in a variety of written and spoken contexts in English. It focuses on communication activities in functional and situational contexts. Pre-requisite: ING 201 ING 301 ENGLISH FOR SPECIAL PURPOSE I (3+1+0) 3 AKTS 5 (Özel Amaçlı İngilizce I) One of the aims of this course is to familiarise students with the English terminology of elements of art and principles of design and to raise the level of students to the point where they can criticise/analyse an art work. Another aim is to teach students general terminology of art in English. ING 302 ENGLISH FOR SPECIAL PURPOSE II (3+1+0) 3 AKTS 5 (Özel Amaçlı İngilizce II) This course aims to teach students the academic/business skills in order to provide them with the adequate level of skill to be able to write their CVs and cover letters. The students will also be able to present their art work and designs in their portfolios in English.
