Build your website PAYD Pro Plus ecommerce can help make it easier for you to create your online ecommerce presence. Before you begin, there are several things you must do to get your website up and running: Website domain To get started, you require a website domain for your PAYD Pro Plus ecommerce website. If you do not already have one, register a domain name with a domain registry company for your ecommerce website. Important: When purchasing your domain, create a DNS CNAME record. Please ensure that the CNAME record points to my.getpayd.com. This record links your existing domain name to the Moneris PAYD servers and the PAYD Pro Plus ecommerce store. Do not use a DNS record that points to a specific IP address, as this may impact your business processing capability if the IP address requires changes in the future. Pointing to my.getpayd.com helps to ensure continuity of service. Theme selection PAYD Pro Plus ecommerce offers a number of pre-defined themes to choose from. To access the ecommerce theme selection: 1. From the Moneris PAYD Administration main screen, click the ecommerce menu. 2. On the ecommerce menu, under the Site section, click Themes. 3. In the Themes screen, you can create a new theme or edit an existing theme that has been previously created. Note: PAYD Pro Plus offers CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) and Javascript import tools that can be used to import CSS or Javascript, which enable you to carry over the look and feel of your brand into the ecommerce website. Complete instructions for creating and editing themes, and importing CSS and Javascript can be found in the PAYD Pro Plus Online Help. To access the Online Help, open the POS view, click on the Tools tab and then click the Help button. Inventory management An important step in setting up your PAYD Pro Plus ecommerce website is planning what inventory will be available online and how your website will behave when customers make online purchases. For instance, do you wish to receive email notifications when orders are placed? Will customers be able to use promotion codes during the checkout process? You can enable these features and configure product profiles within Moneris PAYD Administration. 3
Configuring your product profiles To set up your PAYD Pro Plus ecommerce website, you ll need to make important configuration changes in Moneris PAYD Administration, specifically within the product profiles. Tip: Make changes to your product profiles in Moneris PAYD Administration while the products are not visible online. This will enable you to review your changes and ensure the accuracy of the information added. To configure your products for online sales, ensure the following fields have been populated and options have been configured: Product Names (in both languages if applicable) are spelled correctly. Status is set to Active. Retail Price is entered. Any applicable Tax Exemptions are assigned. Note: It is recommended that you use high-resolution pictures to present a clean, professional image to your online customers. If you don t have a product image, select a default image to display (see example on right). The product is assigned to the correct Categories. Categories and Sub-categories must be set to Available Online. If you are shipping the product, the Categories and Sub-categories must be set to Can be shipped. If applicable, create Multiple Product IDs for different variations of the product such as colour and size. If applicable, fill out the Related Products field to upsell or cross-sell related products. Any applicable Fees are assigned. In the product s ecommerce tab, select the following options and complete the following fields: Available Online set to Yes. Can Be Added To Shopping Cart set to Yes. Can Be Shipped set to Yes (where applicable). Under Unit Quantity Per Box, enter the number of items per box.
