F or the first time, practitioners and professionals from Oregon and Washington will come together to explore administrative law topics and practice issues that span both sides of the Columbia River. Procedural similarities and agency differences will be explored, as well as concerns common to both states, such as the legal ethics and professionalism involved with going over or around an agency lawyer. Breakout sessions will focus on the best practices for administrative hearings in the Beaver State and the Evergreen State, and cannabis administrative rulemaking and enforcement in the two states will be compared. Ellen Rosenblum, Oregon s Attorney General and a former Oregon Appeals Court Judge, will give the lunch presentation Administrative Law from Both Sides of the Bench. Administrative law developments by the courts will be noted by the Honorable Mary Fairhurst, Washington Supreme Court, and the Honorable Jack Landau, Oregon Supreme Court, while the future of administrative regulatory law in Oregon, Washington, and the U.S. will be examined by a panel of law professors.
