Smart Board Install Instructions In order to use the Smart boards the following steps must be completed: 1. Install the Smart board Drivers and possibly Smart Notebook software on your computer (see below). 2. Turn the SmartBoard on using the left hand button on the Keyboard Tray. 3. Connect the USB cable on the SmartBoard to your computer. The connect light on the keyboard needs to change from blinking red, to blinking green and eventually to solid green. 4. Once the connection light on the SmartBoard tray is solid green, press the calibration button on the SmartBoard try to calibrate your computer to the Smart board. Downloading Smart NoteBook Software Click on the SMART Notebook collaborative learning software's choose a version pop-up button. From the pop-up, choose the platform that you are using. Click on the Blue Download button, to start the download. Any additional software listed on the download page is optional. Install the Smart NoteBook Software Locate the Installer that you downloaded, typically it will be named "smartesiyyyyxxxxxx", where Y represents the Year, and x is the name of the month. For example, smartesi2013june.dmg or smartesi2013junewebinstaller.exe. Smart Board Install Instructions - 2
On the Macintosh, open the Disk Image, and run the Installer, and follow the instructions below ("Installing on a Macintosh System") On the Windows Platform, run the installer, and following the instructions below ("Installing on a Windows System") Installing on a Macintosh System Do Not Enable the Customer Experience Program, please ensure this is unchecked. Do Not Install the SMART Notebook 3D Tools Do Not Install the Smart Response Tools During the install process you may receive a pop-up indicating that "SMARTBoardService.app" needs to accept incoming network connections. Once the software is done installing on the Macintosh, Start the Notebook Application From the Applications Folder, open the Smart Technologies Folder, run Notebook Once running, open the Software Activation panel. 1. Click on the Notebook Menu 2. Click on Software Activation Under Product Key, type in this Activation code: NB-SEBAG-BACGH-PWX6E-AIAAA Click on the Add Button (#2). Click on Next (#3), the Activation tool, will connect to the Smart Technologies Server and verify the key. Once done, the Key should be listed with a status of "Activated". Installing on a Windows System Check the Smart Notebook Checkbox (#1) The Smart Product Drivers Checkbox should automatically be selected as well. Please ensure that it is checked. (#2) (#3) You may receive a warning that the Software will install a newer version of Adobe Flash. If you see this warning, continue, but ensure all web browsers are closed. (Optional, but Recommended) On the "Select Startup Options", turn off Smart Board Tools. This will prevent the Smart Board Tools from starting up when not connected to a Smart Board. Ensure that "Make Smart Ink Document View the default PDF Viewer" is turned off. On the "Customer Experience Program", we recommend that you disable the Customer Experience Program.
