A graduate degree for life In every nook of our planet, in every culture of our civilization, projects are the common language and currency. www.ucigspm.com 4 The spread of globalization, as well as the emergence of social, cultural and economic interdependence among nations, have made project management a vital part of the way the complex development of our global paradigm functions and is managed. The Global School of Project Management was created for the purpose of understanding and adding value to this paradigm, through the formation of leaders with the skills, professional culture, and credentials needed to ensure success in the projects undertaken. The GSPM graduate has a competitive advantage that distinguishes him or her, as a director of projects, in every sector of the economy and any area of development. Over 2,000 professionals have participated in our programs, and they are now responsibly involved, with their knowledge and actions, in improving the production and living standards of the countries in which they work. With a focus on integral development, the GSPM experience marks differences in the lives of our graduates. On the professional level, they acquire a set of tools for operating and managing success in their businesses and organizations. On a personal level, they achieve improved organization and higher living standards. Guidance Momentum Strategy Perspective

www.ucigspm.com 5 THE UNIVERSITY FOR INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION UCI (Universidad para la Cooperación Internacional: UCI for its acronym in Spanish) is an institution created for the purpose of offering outstanding formation, of the highest quality, in professions and cutting edge areas of knowledge, vital to sustainable development. As a part of its global vision and its commitment with sustainability, UCI maintains world-class bases of research projects and strategic alliances. The UCI concept is built on a global and wellconnected platform. It is a learning laboratoty for didactic production that enables mutual exchange and benefit among the world s countries. UCI has accumulated two decades of experience in forming leaders in multiple sectors. UCI is accredited, as a private university, by the Republic of Costa Rica s Consejo Nacional de Enseñanza Superior Universitaria Privada Realistic (CONESUP, for its acronym in Spanish, is the National Council for Private Superior University Education) and by the United Mexican States Sistema Educativo Nacional (the Mexican National Education System). UCI accounts more than 3,000 alumni, from 50 of the world s countries, in the 5 continents. This network of professionals demonstrates UCI s commitment to innovative education and sustainable development. UCI uses cutting edge educational tools, dynamic learning scenarios, different modalities for earning international titles, professors who are experts in their professional areas, and innovative classroom schemes (on-line (virtual), attendance, and mixed), in line with the current paradigm of competencies, which today s society expects graduate level professionals to have. 7 The GSPM Factor Six points of value for the project management professional

www.ucigspm.com 8 1. World-class reputation& accreditation We are the first university in Latin America to have a program accredited by the GAC (Global Accreditation Center), in both attendance and on-line (virtual) modalities, and in two languages: English and Spanish. We were also the first university in the region to obtain recognition as REP (Registered Education Provider), since 2001. Both accreditations are granted by the PMI (Project Management Institute), the world s leader in the dissemination of the discipline of project management and the certification of professionals in this field. GSPM complements its didactic curriculum with preparation to obtain several accreditations from PMI and GPM (Green Project Management).

International experts, who manage projects all over the world, form an important part of our teaching team. Ours is a top-level program that responds to today s complex paradigm of project direction and management. The scope and importance of modern projects energize our educational experience, covering four continents. Students from Colombia, China, Mozambique, Germany, Brazil, Egypt, India, Singapore, the countries of Central America and Panama, Mexico, the Antilles, and from many other nations, are living testimony of our educational excellence. 2. Solidity & applied Experience With concentration of our alumni network in the regions of Central and South America, we are an example of global vision on projects, with graduates from the Caribbean, North America, Europe, Africa and Asia. Over 15 years forming project management leaders. 2,000 graduates from more than 40 countries. www.ucigspm.com More than 140 generations of students affirm our commitment to sustainable development in the region and the world. We are a School that performs and produces. Our Project Management office has developed more than 100 international cooperation projects in 15 different countries. 9

10 Our students experience and the needs of our societies are the starting points for the design of our programs. We strengthen direct relationships between knowledge and the development of skills in the human talent. Our on-line (virtual) learning platform has evolved in excellence and continuous improvement for more than 15 years. The School s multidisciplinary vocation is focused on our student community. The exchange of experiences among students of different professional backgrounds and nationalities allows for an enormous enrichment of the learning process. The participation of engineers, communicators, sociologists, businessmen, economists, educators, internationalists, informatics, doctors, and many professionals in other basic careers, makes the graduate degree in project management the most flexible and necessary one for building professional quality. 3. Education& innovation for the XXI Century The importance taken on by information technologies in modern organizations drives our methodology of teaching to change and improve, in benefit to our students. The area of projects requires a learning-facilitating environment that is provided by the innovative techniques of the ICT s. On-line or virtual education facilitates and potentiates the formation of the distance learning student, breaking the barriers of time and space, since it enables a communication environment for the development of teaching and learning processes through information and communications technologies (ICT s). Based on the tendencies of modern learning, the Global School of Project Management offers the first and only system for graduate degrees, in different languages, in Latin America. Offered in an on-line (virtual) modality, our programs allow the student to maximize the efficient use of his/her time and investment as a professional. Our on-line (virtual) learning production laboratory applies the best tools, designs and interactive concepts for teaching and learning, which lets us offer a unique, more effective, and successful educational experience. It is known (http://elearningindustry.com) that on-line (virtual) education helps information retention by 25%- 60%, as compared to conventional methods of education. It is also estimated that, by 2019, half of all university courses will be taught on-line.

www.ucigspm.com 11 4. A superior graduate degree The GSPM Master in Project Management Degree is much more than a certification. It provides a real competitive advantage in the professional career of an expert in projects. The School is accredited and offers degrees with recognition from two government superior education agencies with the highest standards in Latin America The Secretaría de Educación Pública de México (SEP, for its acronym in Spanish, is the Secretariat of Public Education of Mexico), through its Recognition of the Official Validity of Federal and State Superior Studies (RVOE, for its acronym in Spanish), that regulates and certifies our graduate program in Mexico. The Costa Rican Ministry of Education, through the Consejo Nacional de Enseñanza Superior Universitaria Privada (CONESUP, for its acronym in Spanish, is the National Council of Private Superior University Education), that regulates and certifies our graduate degrees in Costa Rica. - International quality: our most important letters of presentation are the scope and quality of our programs, with recognition from great international corporations. - Coexistence and interaction: our students are immersed in a constant exchange of knowledge with real project managers from all over the world. - A body of complementary certification: our students have the possibility of participation in diverse programs of study, in different languages, endorsed by the Project Management Institute (PMI).

5. An intelligent and planned investment GSPM has world-class programs at accessible prices*. The School understands that increasing the number of professionals in project management is the most certain and concrete way to promote the world s sustainable development. We offer investment plans, and a variety of scholarship funds, that articulate this vision of extension and professional development to reduce the gaps in training and social status. www.ucigspm.com Taking any of our programs represents a huge advantage in the curriculum of any professional. Interactive, mobile, flexible, inclusive, and productive are some of the outstanding characteristics of our teaching model. There are opportunities for everyone. 50% of knowledge and professional tools become obsolete every 3 years, and 23% of professionals who resign do so because of a lack of opportunities to continue training in their work places. GSPM is not only the best option for learning, but it is also the most sustainable and green route to the future. 85% of the expenses for professional training are for transportation, energy, classroom materials, books, and other resources. Our on-line (virtual) learning platform reduces these expenses and turns them into benefits for the student. GSPM requires the participants in the Master s programs to enroll and remain as active members (in student mode, at a very low cost) of the Project Management Institute (PMI). This membership allows access to a wide variety of resources, such as standards, literature, blogs, webinars, communities of practice, and many more benefits. 12 * To learn more about scholarship funds and investment plans, consult with our Professional Development Advisors (see Contact at the end of the document).

13 6. A global vision with infinite local possibilities The development of the knowledge society, the management of an integrated world economy, the protection of biodiversity, and the progress of the inhabitants of a remote population, are all achieved through the execution of thousands of projects every day. Forming competitive leaders, who manage these projects with a multicultural, all-inclusive, multidisciplinary, and committed vision, is GSPM s contribution to the community of peoples and nations of our planet. * Regions with graduates from our programs
