Congratulations on choosing to buy a Giani Cucina product. All products brought to you by Giani are manufactured to the highest standards of performance and safety. We hope you enjoy using your purchase for many years to come. Safety Instructions There is a risk of fire and electrical shock with all electrical appliances, which may cause injury or death so please follow the instructions carefully: Before fitting and/or removing parts, please ensure the Smoothie Blender is NOT plugged in. Always unplug the Smoothie Blender from the mains before cleaning and NEVER let the power unit, cord or plug get wet. Keep your hands and any utensils, other than the stirrer, out of the removable plastic jar when it s on the power unit. Do NOT touch the sharp blades or let unsupervised children use the Smoothie Blender. NEVER blend hot liquids. If the Smoother Blender becomes damaged, make sure this is repaired before further use. Do NOT leave the Smoothie Blender unattended at any time. When removing the Smoothie Blender from the power unit, please wait until the blades have completely stopped. The Smoothie Blender should only be used for its intended purpose. Ensure the lid is in place before operating the Smoothie Blender. NEVER use the stirrer supplied unless the lid is fitted securely on the plastic jar. The moulded skirt on the bottom of the plastic jar is fitted to comply with safety standards and no attempt should be made to remove it. Parts Key 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Stirrer Measuring Cup Lid Plastic Jar Tap Power Unit 2

Before First Use Remove all packaging Wash the parts: see Cleaning Carefully store any excess cord into the back of the Smoothie Blender Using the Smoothie Blender Fit the sealing ring over the blade assembly Screw the plastic jar onto the blade unit Screw the tap assembly onto the plastic jar, then place on the power unit (check that the dispensing tap lever is pointing upwards in the Off position) Place any liquid ingredients in the plastic jar (this includes fresh [not frozen] fruit, yoghurt, milk, and fruit juices) These can be placed into the plastic jar to the level marked LIQUIDS for either 3 or 6 servings You can add frozen ingredients into the plastic jar ( this includes frozen fruit, frozen yogurt, ice cream or ice) These can be added up to the level marked FROZEN INGREDIENTS for the corresponding number of servings Place the lid over the plastic jar, ensuring it s on sercurely Either push the cap into the lid or place the stirrer in the hole The stirrer can be used when blending thick mixtures or when large quantities of frozen foods are used Press and hold the High button, this will start the mixing process. Then press the Pulse button to allow the ingredients to blend until smooth Use the stirrer by moving it in an anti-clockwise direction Place a glass under the tap, press the Mix button and press down on the dispencing tap lever (thinner drinks may dispense without having to switch on the power unit) Use the stirrer to assist when dispencing thick smoothie drinks. To help dispense the last amount of a thick smoothie drink, add a few tablespoons of water to increase the flow. When the glass is full, release the lever and switch off. Hints To make a thinner smoothie drink, add more liquid To make a thicker smoothie drink, add more frozen ingredients Before fitting the lid, push the solid ingredients into the liquid using the stirrer Use the PULSE button to operate the power unit in a start/stop action to control the texture of your drink (take care as this automatically selects the higher speed and may cause the drink to be thrown up the sides and onto the lid of the plastic jar) After blending, some drinks may not be completely smooth due to seeds or the fibrous nature of the ingredients. Some drinks may separate on standing, therefore it s best to drink them straight away. Separated drinks should be stirred before drinking. Important Never blend dry ingredients (eg spices, nuts) or run the Smoothie Blender empty Don t use the blender as a storage container. Keep it empty before and after use Some liquids increase in volume and froth during blending (eg milk), so do not overfill and ensure the lid is correctly fitted 3

To ensure long life of your Smoothie Blender, never run it continuously for longer than 60 seconds Never blend food that has formed a solid mass during freezing, break it up before adding to the plastic jar Cleaning Always switch off, unplug and dismantle before cleaning Never let the power unit, cord or plug get wet Empty the plastic jar before unscrewing it from the blade unit Always wash immediately after use. Don t let food dry on to the plastic jar assembly as this will make cleaning difficult The Smoothie Blender is NOT suitable to be cleaned in a dishwasher Regularly dismantle the tap and clean the parts thoroughly Blender Unit Before dismantling the blender, half fill the plastic jar with warm water. Fit the lid and cap then place on the power unit. Switch to MIX and whilst running, open the tap and allow the water to drink into a container to clean the valve. This can be repeated until the water runs clear. If further cleaning is necessary, dismantle the unit first. Power Unit Wipe with a damp cloth, then dry Blade Unit Remove and wash the sealing ring Don t touch the sharp blades - brush them clean using hot soapy water, then rinse thoroughly under the tap. Don t immerse the blade assembly in water Leave to dry upside down away from children Lid, cap & stirrer Wash by hand, rince with clean water then dry Cleaning the tap Remove the tap assembly from the plastic jar, then soak the tap in hot soapy water with the valve open. Wash thoroughly then rinse and dry. Wash and dry the plastic jar then refit the tap ensuring that the seals are correctly positioned on the plastic jar Dismantling the tap Unscrew the cap Push up on the plug and remove lever Remove the plug and spring Wash all the components, then dry thoroughly Reassemble the unit be reversing the above procedure 4
